Naomi Campbell, Richard E. Grant, Lila Moss and more hit the Burberry runway

Independent24-02-2025
Burberry presented a star-studded runway as it closed London Fashion Week, showcasing the best of British from the world of fashion and acting.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, 54, wore a plum jacquard double collared trench with a layered fringing skirt and black thigh high boots.
Kate Moss's daughter Lila, 22, joined her mum's close friend on the catwalk, wearing a retro orange and brown floral print co-ord and knee high boots.
Actor Richard E. Grant, 67, stepped out in a charcoal wool double-breasted trench, high-collared knit and black leather gloves, while carrying a canary yellow Burberry checked umbrella.
Actors Lesley Manville, 68, and Jason Isaacs, 61, who both recently starred in Mrs Harris Goes To Paris, showcased Burberry's outerwear in black and grey.
This year, creative director Daniel Lee, who joined in 2022 after leaving Bottega Veneta, showcased the best of British seasonal wear through moleskin trenches, double-breasted wool overcoats and cosy blanket scarves.
Like many designers this season, Lee looked to the 1980s for inspiration, flooding the runway with preppy neck scarves, thigh high riding boots and blouson bombers.
Burberry is known for it's iconic outerwear, following it's recent campaign, 'It's Always Burberry Weather', this autumn/winter collection was highly anticipated.
Luckily, Lee's outerwear was both diverse and consistent, with trenches, wool overcoats, leather biker jackets and velvet blazers seamlessly gracing the runway.
Leather parkas, faux fur trims, jodhpurs and heavy-weight checked kilts brought a rugged sense of the countryside to the night; steering away from the chic, and 'demure', country-core we've seen from other designers.
Lee's evening looks featured romantic fluted sleeves and frilled collars, heavy duty jacquard velvet and liquid leather accessories.
The collection consisted of an English autumn palette, with rich berries, olive greens, chocolates and charcoals – alongside bursts of crimson, ochre and ultramarine cropping up throughout the eveningwear.
Held at the Tate Britain in London, located just a few steps away from the newly renovated Burberry HQ, the venue was perfect for Lee's ode to Britain.
It wasn't just the catwalk that featured British A-Listers, the audience was equally studded with stars, with the likes of Geri Horner, Damon Albarn, Steve Coogan and Brooklyn Beckham gracing the front row.
Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa, 32, wore a Noughties style leather jacket with zip-pleated trousers and a collared polo.
Blur frontman Albarn, 56, appeared with his daughter Missy, 25, in oversized tailored trousers and casual overshirts.
Former Spice Girl Horner, 52, wore a classic cream Burberry trench and checked shoulder bag.
Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz brought quintessentially British street style to the show.
The 25-year-old wore a Burberry check utility tracksuit with black zip detailing and square toed leather shoes, while Peltz, 30, matched in Burberry check cargo trousers and a black leather biker jacket.
Victoria Beckham is set to debut her autumn/winter collection at Paris Fashion Week next month.
Coogan, 59, channelled the dapper 1920s in a charcoal single-breasted suit, wool skinny scarf and heritage cream trench.
Burberry has remained a highlight in the London Fashion Week calendar, closing the week season after season with a recurring star-studded line-up.
This year, all eyes were on Burberry, as the heritage brand announced a turnaround last year, when new CEO Joshua Schulman unveiled 'Burberry Forward'.
It was a plan aiming to bring Burberry back to outerwear and a more varied pricing structure – something showcased in it's now iconic campaign that launched last October.

Tyson Fury may be lured out of retirement for third fight with unbelievable Usyk

If they ever decide to remake classic sci-fi action thriller The Terminator then Oleksandr Usyk would be a natural for the role originally played to chilling effect by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The similarities between the cyborg assassin sent back from 2029 to kill the woman carrying the unborn baby boy who can save the world from extinction and the all-time boxing great are stunning. The relentless robot, according to the promotional poster for the iconic movie, feels no pity, no pain, no fear. It's something unstoppable. That's exactly what you see when you look into the eyes of the 38-year-old Ukrainian who demolished Daniel Dubois in five devastating rounds at Wembley on Saturday night. The British boxer was brutally taken apart, crashing to the canvas twice in the fifth round before his corner threw in the towel at the same time the fight was waved off by the referee. Usyk ripped the IBF title away from the Londoner to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for a second time and, don't forget, he also held all the belts to unify the cruiserweight division before stepping up to the ultimate level. There were more than 90,000 fans packed into the famous stadium, but such is the East European's popularity that it was anything but a partisan crowd cheering on the hometown boy. It was the second time Usyk has beaten Dubois, as he stopped him in the ninth round when they met in Poland two years ago, and he improved his record to 24 unbeaten fights as a professional. The big question is what happens next as the distance between Usyk and the realistic contenders is enormous. He's never fought in Ukraine and if he is thinking of hanging up his gloves he would surely relish the opportunity to bow out in front of an adoring following in Kiev. New Zealand's improving Joseph Parker is the boxer most likely to be next in line but the big money would be a fight against Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury, both of whom he has fought and beaten twice. The way AJ was taken apart by Dubois last year means he's some way off being ready to touch gloves with Usyk for a third time and the self-styled Gypsy King would have to come out of retirement once again – something his comments on Saturday night suggest he is more than happy to do. Bookmakers think Fury is the most likely option and have priced up that fight with the British mean machine 9/5 to triumph with Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Bet and Usyk 4/9 with the same firms to prevail. He has insisted his thoughts are currently centred around resting and spending time with his family but make no mistake: he'll be back. Greyhound fan Gerwyn Price can make a fast start to his bid for a first World Matchplay title at Blackpool when he faces Daryl Gurney in the first round at the seaside resort's beautiful Winter Gardens. Price has just retired his brilliant racer Iceman's Girl but could name his next track star something like Empress Wonder if he wins one of darts' top prizes in the glorious ballroom where the tournament is held and he's 8/1 with sponsors Betfred to be the last man standing at the oche on Sunday. More Trending After being victorious at both the Poland Darts Masters and the Baltic Sea Darts Open in recent weeks it no surprise Price is no better than 1/3 with bet365, SpreadEx and Sporting Index to defeat his Northern Ireland opponent so take the 7/1 with BetMGM and Unibet he eases into the second round with a 10-6 victory. British duo Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter prepare for their assaults on the US Open by competing in this week's Citi Open in Washington and both can make winning starts. Raducanu makes her first outing since a gallant effort in a straight sets defeat to Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon when she faced seventh seed Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine and is 3/1 with Betfred to win 2-1. Greece's Maria Sakkari is on the other side of the net in Boulder's first round match and is 3/4 to win outright with Bet Victor. 'I watched Come Dine With Me with Americans and they were shocked by one detail'

Come Dine With Me has been a firm favourite with British fans for years, but what do Americans make of the show? In a city renowned for Mardi Gras, gumbo, and extravagant hospitality, I was curious how New Orleans locals would react to a programme that seems completely opposite: Come Dine With Me. ‌ The enduring British cult series features strangers taking turns hosting dinner parties, whilst secretly rating each other in competition for £1,000. So, I gathered three locals - all proud Big Easy dwellers - and pressed play. ‌ First was Brad Collins, a French Market business owner, who confessed he mainly watched for Channel 4 star Dave Lamb's sharp-tongued commentary. ‌ "That voiceover guy is savage!" he chuckled. "He says what everyone's thinking, but way more brutal. It's so British - sounds polite, but they're low-key scheming and roasting each other behind their backs. Like smiling while they plan your downfall." However, not everything went down smoothly for him: "Some of the food? I had no clue what I was looking at. I'm like, is that dessert or dinner? And sometimes I had to put the subtitles on because I didn't know what they were saying. But I kept watching - it's addictive," reports the Express. ‌ Next was mum-of-two Izzy Althans, 36, who works as an advertising operations coordinator. After tuning into the show, she rapidly became captivated. Izzy revealed: "Come Dine With Me is such a fun way to see British at-home entertaining. In the US, it's all about a theme - props, photo booths, curated playlists - but the Brits seem more focused on good ingredients and proper courses. "It felt structured but relaxed, without all the over-the-top effort." ‌ She was particularly impressed by the presenting approach on the Channel 4 programme, saying: "In America, it's very 'make yourself at home' - we want to have fun as hosts too. "But the show felt more like, 'how can I take care of you?' It's not that this doesn't exist in America, but it's definitely a declining part of our culture." ‌ Whilst she adored the programme's British appeal, she also valued its sharp edge. "They can be so catty towards each other - but in this incredibly emotionless way. I loved it! And I'm obsessed with watching them shop at these cute speciality stores. In short, I think it is a brilliant show that I plan to continue watching it," she explained. Finally, there was Jenny Collins, a local teacher, who was captivated by the authentic, unvarnished approach. ‌ She enthused: "After watching a few episodes I realised why I was so drawn to the show. It was the realism; from the appearance of the individuals, to the unedited conversations." She also spotted a stark difference in style, saying: "I felt like it was real. In the States, even series that are supposed to be reality TV, are severely edited as not to offend anyone. ‌ "Even the participants who we are expected to see as every day people, go in to make up like celebrities to improve their appearance prior to filming. I felt that I was seeing a true slice of the people who were hosting each meal." Despite the cultural differences - Yorkshire puddings, passive-aggressive banter, and sarcastic hosting - the consensus was clear: Come Dine With Me had charmed them. It appears that all it takes is a bit of sarcasm, some peculiar fish pies, and a ruthless narrator - and even one of the most renowned food cities in America will take a seat at the dinner table.

EXCLUSIVE Amanda Holden jokes she's the 'new Kris Jenner' as she reveals her lookalike daughters Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13, will take on London Fashion Week and talks of a family reality show

Amanda Holden has revealed her youngest daughter Hollie, 13, has landed her first runway show, walking in London Fashion Week later this year. The TV and radio presenter, 54, joked she is the new Kris Jenner as her two lookalike daughters are now following in her showbiz footsteps. Hollie will make her catwalk debut alongside model and university student sister Lexi, 19, who is already signed to Storm Models. When Amanda spoke with MailOnline at Claridge's hotel in London, she revealed that Hollie had 'no idea' that she had bagged her first modelling gig, as the presenter had 'literally only just heard' about it minutes before we sat down. She said: 'Lexi's good, she's sort of dipped her toe in and she's done a couple of photoshoots. She is loving university as well but what she doesn't like doing is taking time off, so I think she'll work it out but it's something she's enjoying. 'She's doing London Fashion Week again in September and we've actually just heard that Hollie is going to be doing it as well.' Amanda continued: 'It's definitely something I think Hollie is going to enjoy she's going to die when I tell her she's doing London Fashion Week this year. 'I literally just heard she got it and she's gone for the week with my mum in Cornwall so I'll have to ring her after.' She joked: 'With both girls doing it, I do feel like Kris Jenner now. We need our own reality show. Oh my god, yeah here we go, I could see that'. Despite the TV stars hopes of a family reality show, which could follow her daughter's nepo baby friends including Simon Cowell's son Eric and Alesha Dixon's daughter Azura, Amanda's daughter Lexi 'wouldn't want to be on camera'. She revealed: 'But one of my daughters would do [a TV show] but Lexi wouldn't want to be on camera, that's irony, whereas Hollie would, definitely.' Amanda added that teenager Hollie currently loves coming to Britain's Got Talent as she is 'put to work' as a runner and causes 'mayhem' with Simon's son Eric. She said: 'She loves coming with me to Britain's Got Talent, she makes Simon his ginger tea, she likes to be a little runner, so when she comes, they put her to work. 'She likes the crew hoodie, the snacks, she delivers snacks to the desk, goes around with Eric, creating absolute mayhem behind the scenes, god knows what they get up to anyway. 'She doesn't watch any of the show though, although she did when she decided to press the golden buzzer anyway. She didn't get a slap on the wrist because Eric was with her, so that's all good.' Elsewhere during the chat, Amanda, who is a brand ambassador for Revive Collagen, revealed she has even got her oldest teenage daughter using the products. She said: 'You know, I've got Lexi on the original collagen and she's 20 in January and she takes it because there's other benefits in it. 'She's at uni living it up and you just go, you need your B12 and everything else, so she's now getting everything because you lose 1.5% of collagen up until you're 60 odd, every year from the age of 25'. Amanda shares Hollie and 19-year-old daughter Lexi with her husband Chris Hughes who she has been married to since 2008.
