Wales' most-cappted keeper Hennessey retires at 38
Hennessey made over 100 league appearances each for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace, reaching the FA Cup final in 2016 with the latter. He was at Nottingham Forest last season but did not make an appearance.
The Bangor-born player was part of the Wales squad that reached the semi-finals of the Euros in 2016, also appearing in the 2022 World Cup. He last played for Wales in November 2023 in a friendly against Gibraltar.
'I have decided to bring my playing career to an end, I look back with gratitude and forward with optimism as I take the next steps on my footballing journey," Hennessey said in a statement. REUTERS

The Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Moenchengladbach player was part of the West Germany squad at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, where they lifted the trophy after a 1-0 victory over defending champions Argentina in the final. German media said Mill suffered a heart attack in May shortly after getting in a taxi in Milan. He was later flown back to Germany but never recovered. Born in Essen, Mill earned 17 caps and was part of his country's squad that claimed bronze at the 1988 Olympic Games. The 54-year-old replaces Kim Pan-gon, who left Ulsan by mutual consent after the weekend's 3-2 loss to Suwon FC. Shin, who led South Korea at the 2018 World Cup and most recently worked as Indonesia coach, takes over with Ulsan seventh in the standings, 23 points adrift of leaders Jeonbuk Motors after 24 matches. Kim left after 13 months in the role having replaced Hong Myung-bo following his appointment as South Korea coach in July last year. Kim guided the club to the league title last season and was in charge during their involvement in the Club World Cup in the United States in June.
