Rees-Zammit to return to rugby after NFL dream ends
Wales winger Louis Rees-Zammit said on Friday he was returning to rugby union after giving up on his attempt to break into the NFL. Rees-Zammit spent last season with Jacksonville Jaguars having been cut by the Kansas City Chiefs the previous campaign, but failed to make an NFL appearance for either franchise as a wide receiver. The 24-year-old had originally made the move across the sports by joining the NFL's International Player Pathway Program in 2024. "It's been a great experience but it's time to come home," Rees-Zammit said on social media. "I've decided that this is the best time to make this decision to give myself time to get everything in place for next season," he added. The former British and Irish Lions speedster did not disclose which club he would be playing for in the coming campaign. Struggling Wales' next game is against Argentina on November 9 as they eye a first Test win at home since August 2023. "There's only one thing that's on my mind, that's coming back to rugby and doing what I do best," Rees-Zammit said. "There'll be more news to come soon," he added. Pillow Fight Championship rules, scoring system Pillow Fight Championship rules A fighter cannot hit an opponent with anything other than a pillow. A fighter cannot push or charge toward an opponent. A fighter cannot grab an opponent or an opponent's pillow. A fighter is allowed to use the non-pillow holding arm to push or move the opponent's non-pillow holding arm, but grabbing the arm is not permitted. A fighter is allowed to deliver an overhead hit as long as only one hand is on the pillow. A fighter cannot stand still for more than three seconds. Fighters must stand at least four feet apart in order to prevent crowding. A fighter who has been knocked down has 10 seconds to stand up before the match ends in a knockout. A fighter cannot have open wounds or long fingernails. A fighter cannot wear any jewelry. A fighter cannot spit or use foul language. Referees will deduct one point for a violation, and three points will be deducted for a second violation. If a fighter commits a violation for a third time, that fighter will forfeit the match. A fighter will also forfeit the match if that fighter damages the pillow in any way other than striking an opponent. Pillow Fight Championship scoring system A Pillow Fight Championship match consists of three rounds. Each round lasts 90 seconds, and there is a one-minute break between each round. Three judges score each match. One point is awarded for a strike to the head. Three points are awarded for a 360-degree strike to the head, which occurs when a fighter performs a full spin followed by a strike. Five points are awarded for a knockdown as long as the strike itself caused a fighter to fall down. One point is awarded for a leg strike that causes an opponent to become unbalanced, and three points are awarded if a fighter breaks the pillow. A fighter can also earn a point for showmanship (dodging multiple strike attempts, acrobatic moves, jumping strikes, etc.). All strikes must connect at full force in order for a fighter to earn points. The only way to avoid a strike to the head is to dodge it. If a fighter attempts to block a strike to the head but the opponent still connects on the strike with full force, a point is awarded. If a match ends in a tie, a 30-second tiebreaker round will be held under the same scoring system as the previous rounds.

Mets acquiring Cedric Mullins in trade with Orioles
The Mets are trading for Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins, reports SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino. In exchange for Mullins, who is set for free agency after the season, the Mets are sending three right-handed pitching prospects to Baltimore: Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez, and Chandler Marsh. Gomez, whose fastball has reached as high as 104 mph, was No. 28 on SNY's preseason Top 30 list. Nunez and Marsh were not on the list. Before dealing for Mullins, the Mets spoke with the White Sox about a potential trade for Luis Robert Jr. But Chicago's asking price was likely prohibitive. Mullins has picked it up offensively lately, slashing .321/.333/.547 in 57 plate appearances over his last 16 games. Overall this season, he has hit .229/.305/.433 with 15 home runs, 19 doubles, and 14 stolen bases. His OPS+ is 103, which is a tick above average. Defensively, Mullins is in the 83rd percentile this season while being worth 2 OAA, via Baseball Savant. On Wednesday afternoon against the Blue Jays in Baltimore, he made a highlight-reel catch while going high above the wall to rob a home run. An All-Star in 2021, Mullins has hit .250/.318/.426 with 101 home runs and 140 doubles in 784 games over eight big league seasons -- all with the O's. Adding Mullins to the mix will help provide some length to the bottom of the Mets' lineup, and signal an end to Tyrone Taylor and Jeff McNeil splitting time in center field. Taylor -- an elite defender -- has been struggling badly at the plate this season, slashing .201/.258/.295 with a 60 OPS+. McNeil had been playing an admirable center field, but was out of position.
