With all the dramatic weather we've been having, it's definitely time to stake out your leggy perennials (the ones that come back every year). Heavy rain and growth spurts, can make them collapse and flop.

There's still time for the Chelsea Chop - plants like Rudbeckia's, Asters, Penstemons, Sedums and other perennials can be cut back by a third to help them get a bit more bushy, and prolong the flowering period.

If you can be bothered and have space - lift and story your tulip bulbs to ensure colour next Spring.
Deadheading your roses
Take them down to the first set of healthy leaves - which will ensure more flowers for longer.
Enjoy your space
Take some time to sit and enjoy your garden or outside space - it's great for your mental health. Even just a few minutes a day can make a big difference.

Louth public urged to have a say in Long Walk Urban Regeneration project!
A key part of Dundalk's town centre, the Long Walk is set for regeneration, led by the local authority in a project which 'aims to create a vibrant space that supports Dundalk's growth and meets the needs of the town's residents, visitors and businesses.' 'As part of this process, we want to engage with the wider community to understand the current uses and future possibilities for The Long Walk and the evident issues and opportunities,' said a council spokesperson. LUC have been appointed consultants for this planning stage and are now inviting the public to have a say on the ambitious project for the area of Dundalk. The consultation will look at wide range of possibilities for revitalising the Long Walk area and how it is accessed, including; better places to walk, cycle, and hang out, planting trees and flowers for nature and beauty, adding fun spaces for play and creativity, improving signs, paths, and public spaces and the celebration of local history, art, and heritage. The second stage of the consultation will get underway with a drop-in event at the Community Room, next to the main entrance of the Long Walk Shopping Centre, on Tuesday, July 1st, from 12pm to 6p.m A spokesperson added that the event is open to everyone who has an interest in or opinion on the regeneration of the Long Walk area, saying: "All are welcome to come along and see the DRAFT vision and priorities for the regeneration of the Long Walk area. Share your feedback, vote for your priorities, and help shape the future of your town. This is a family-friendly drop-in event – all are welcome!' Busy Irish shopping centre evacuated after blaze breaks out as number of fire trucks line the street as incident ongoing
A BUSY Irish shopping centre has been evacuated after a fire broke out. It is believed a fire broke out in the Jervis Shopping Centre car park leading to the evacuation operation. All stores in the shopping centre have been evacuated as firefighters work to make the scene safe. Images on social media show shoppers and staff on the street outside the complex after rushing from the building. Images of the scene also show smoke rising from the top of the building. Dublin Fire Brigade has been contacted for a comment in relation to the incident.
