A major pub chain has been forced to increase the price of a pint by 15p after Rachel Reeves ' tax raid left it with an added £8million in staff costs.
Fuller's says the rise in national insurance contributions (NICs) from last October's budget as well as the higher minimum wage from April has left the firm badly hit.
The Chiswick-based company - which has 5,500 staff members - warned back in November last year the financial measures would cause the price of its pints to rise.
It comes as pub and hospitality companies have been among the worst affected amid soaring staff bills.
Fuller, Smith & Turner chief executive Simon Emeny said the chain had tried to be 'sensitive' with price increases, to 'make sure that going to the pub remains an affordable treat'.
He added the group would keep its pricing 'under review' over the rest of the year.
Fuller's is the latest to raise the cost of a pint as pub chains attempt to offset soaring staff bills.
The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) recently said the average price of a pint of beer would surge past £5 for the first time because of cost hikes hitting the sector.

A spokesman for the BBPA added the average cost of a pint in the UK is expected to rise by about 21p as a result.
But Fuller's boss Mr Emeny said the firm could not offset the cost impact with price increases alone.
The group, which has about 5,500 staff, is doubling down on investment in its bars and staff training, to drive sales higher, which it hopes will counter the extra costs.
'Six months down the line and I don't think price increases are the only answer. It has to come through higher sales,' he said.
Reeves announced last year the employers' rate of NI would increase by 1.2 percentage points, to 15 per cent from April.
In addition, the level at which employers become liable to pay NI on salaries would reduce from £9,100 to £5,000 per year.
And the minimum wage for over 21s, known officially as the National Living Wage, has now risen from £11.44 to £12.21.
Mr Fuller said his firm's consumer spending outlook would be sensitive to the interest rate outlook, and whether the Government moved to increase personal taxes.
The comments came as Fuller's posted a 32 per cent jump in underlying pre-tax profits to £27 million for the year to March 29.
Like-for-like sales rose 5.2 per cent, and the group said growth had continued into the first 10 weeks of the new financial year, albeit at a more muted rate of 4.2 per cent.
It also announced its chairman of 18 years, Michael Turner, a member of one of the three founding families, would retire at the group's annual general meeting in July, after a 47-year career with the group.
He will be replaced by Mr Emeny, who will become executive chairman, the first person to take the role who is not a member of the founding families.
Fred Turner will be promoted from retail director to chief operating officer.
A number of other founding family members remain on the board, including non-executive directors Sir James Fuller and Richard Fuller.
On his final set of full-year figures for the group, the outgoing chairman said it had been an 'excellent' past year.
Mr Turner added: 'This strong performance has been achieved despite the business operating in a challenging and, at times volatile, economic environment.
'The geopolitical situation has caused uncertainty in global markets and the decisions made by the Chancellor in her October budget hit the sector hard and reduced confidence in hospitality stocks.'
Mr Turner, An outspoken critic of the move to raise national insurance contributions (NICs) from April, said: 'The changes to national insurance contributions took everyone by surprise and I fear it could be terminal for a number of smaller operators in our market.'

The vertical farming trailblazer has previously been hailed as a game-changer for Britain's farming industry. This set-up has allowed vegetables to be picked next door to delivery depots, offering shoppers access to fresher than ever produce. However, the farming venture has struggled after Ocado signalled that it was not willing to provide more cash to the start-up. After failing to find a new backer, the company is unlikely to recoup the millions of pounds it pumped into the start-up. Costs of adminstration This includes £8.6 million of initial investment in 2019 and a £3.7 million cash injection in 2023. Filings for Jones Food's administration suggest Ocado could be facing a loss of over £20 million. Administrators for the start-up said funds from the sale of the business' assets would go toward paying off expenses and creditors. This marks another setback for Ocado, which has been battling to stem losses and churn out more cash in the face of higher debt costs. It has made heavy cuts to its research team in an attempt to help boost profit and was recently hit by a tripling of its debt interest costs after refinancing looming bonds. Administrators write to your creditors and Companies House to say they've been appointed. They try to stop the company from being liquidated (closing down), and if it can't it pays as much of a company's debts from its remaining assets. The administrator has eight weeks to write a statement explaining what they plan to do to move the business forward. This must be sent to creditors, employees and Companies House and invite them to approve or amend the plans at a meeting. A Notice of Intention is used to inform concerning parties that a company intends to enter administration. It is a physical document which is submitted to court, usually by directors aiming to prevent a company from being liquidated. Like with a standard administration process, a Notice of Intention stops creditors from taking out any legal action over a company while they try and rectify the business. It desribed Jones Food as having 'cracked the code for accessible, sustainable, premium food being grown all-year-round, at a super-competitive price'. The farm provided herbs including basil, coriander, and flat-leaf parsley for Ocado and Asda. However, vertical farming start-ups, which involves growing food on shelves, have struggled to become profitable. In filings for Jones Food, administrators said it was loss-making as soon as it was operational. They said this is because it was running at around a third or half of its factories' capacity, and demand from customers was variable. 'Jones Food is an innovative business, and Ocado Group has been a supporter and shareholder of the company for a number of years," Ocado said at the time of the administration. "As we await the outcome of the administration process, our thoughts are with all those involved with Jones Food.' Weekend closures announced for works on A140 Long Stratton bypass

A series of weekend and overnight closures have been announced for works on a new County Council said once complete, the works on the A140 at Long Stratton would cut congestion through the town and support the local economy. The bypass will join the A140, which is the main route between Norwich and Ipswich, via a new junction at Church Lane to the north of Long Stratton and at Oakside Farm to the project is expected to be completed by late 2025. The authority said the project was "priority infrastructure" in supporting the delivery of housing and employment growth in the area. It added that the cost estimate has increased to £46.9m because of delays in the planning process and impacts linked to inflation, including the Covid pandemic and the war in for the project comes from the Department for Transport's Major Road Network Fund and local contributions, including money from the Greater Norwich Growth Board. Ministers approved the 2.5 mile (3.9km) bypass in 2023 after motorists said the road had become a "pinch point" at Long Stratton. A full closure will be in place on the A140 between St Michael's Road and Brands Lane overnight from 20:00 BST on Thursday, 3 July to 06:00 on Friday, 4 July. There will also be weekend closures at this location from 20:00 on Friday, 4 July to 06:00 on Monday, 7 July, and from 20:00 on Friday, 25 July until 06:00 on Monday, 28 July. The authority said another weekend closure on the A140 near Oakside Farm is planned for the first weekend in August. Bus services will also be affected and diversions will be put in place for motorists. Once the works are complete, sections of the new bypass will be used to divert traffic around the existing A140 while works at Church Lane and Parkers Lane are carried out.
