Thomas Howden in Bairnsdale court for drug driving in Glenaladale
A methed-up stock and station agent has been booted off the roads again after he was busted drug driving for the second time in three months.
Thomas Fredrick Howden, 31, faced the Bairnsdale Magistrates' Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to failing an oral fluid test and driving while his licence was suspended.
Howden was driving a Ute in Glenaladale when he was pulled over by police in December last year.
After officers discovered he was driving without a licence, he was drug tested, which returned positive for methamphetamine.
His car was impounded for 30 days.
The court heard Howden had previously been caught drug driving.
Howden told the court he had completed a behavioural change program as part of a community corrections order.
He said he was working as a stock and station agent where he sold cows and sheep and was trying to rebuild his reputation.
Magistrate Mia Stylianou asked what was going through his head at the time — to which Howden replied 'a lot of stupid things'.
'Around country roads — you've got to have your wits about you, you really do,' Ms Stylianou said.

'Some of these roads are really tricky to navigate and if you're affected by drugs in any way — it's beyond my comprehension how anyone can get behind the wheel and thinking that they're going to drive to the best of their ability.
'There's a reason why these offences are offences.'
Howden's licence was cancelled and disqualified for a year with a conviction recorded and was fined $1200.
'Hopefully there won't be a next time,' Ms Stylianou said.

Ms Krivonogikh didn't explicitly name Putin in either post, but has also never shot down the popular theories surrounding her true parentage. The budding artist was born in 2003 after a suspected affair between Putin and her mother, Svetlana, the President's then-housekeeper. The bombshell was first revealed after a 2020 investigation by Russian media outlet Proekt, citing Ms Krivonogikh's 'phenomenal resemblance' to Putin. He isn't listed on her birth certificate, but 'Vladimirovna' was included, translating to 'daughter of Vladimir'. In 2021, slain journalist and Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny exposed Ms Krivonogikh's Instagram, which showcased her life of luxury and her family's staggering wealth that many have attributed to their connection with the country's pesident. An Upper Murray kinder teacher and mum of two is fighting to stick around and watch her sons grow up after received a double cancer diagnosis. What started as a sore back turned into the 'toughest fight of her life' when 39-year-old Collette Carkeek received the diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and stage four metastatic colorectal cancer. Ms Carkeek is fighting the cancers, but faces a long hard road ahead. Her body responded badly to chemotherapy, with her bone marrow depleting to dangerous levels after just one round of treatment, forcing her to undergo an expensive immunotherapy treatment that was not covered by Medicare. It will leave the family at least $75,000 out of pocket. Growing up in the Cudgewa area and working locally in childcare for years, Ms Carkeek is a beloved member of the community. When she was forced to stop playing netball with the Cudgewa Football Netball Club, where her sons also play footy, the tight-knit Upper Murray community jumped into action to support the family in their time of need. In just 48 hours, the many people whose lives Ms Carkeek had touched raised almost $45,000 towards her cancer treatment in a GoFundMe set up by her sister Stacey. 'Colette has spent her life caring for others — working in childcare, teaching at kinder, and giving back to her community. Now, it's our turn to care for her,' she said.
