Anthony Beauvillier is officially remaining in the U.S. capital. The 28-year-old winger signed a fresh two-year, $5.5 million deal with the Washington Capitals, which will hold him with the franchise after a productive stint after arriving mid-season.
The deal comes with an average annual value of $2.75 million and brings stability to Anthony Beauvillier, who was an unrestricted free agent to begin the offseason.
Anthony Beauvillier solidifies future with Washington Capitals after impactful short stint
The deal was made public Thursday, mere months after Anthony Beauvillier joined Washington through a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The transaction seems to have served both parties well, given that the player and team both expressed keen interest in prolonging their collaboration.
Selected 28th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2015 NHL Draft, Anthony Beauvillier has suited up for six NHL teams such as the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and currently the Washington Capitals. He has 271 points (131 goals, 140 assists) in 631 games played during the regular season and accumulated 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) in 65 playoff games.
"This is a place that I would love to play here for a long time. Obviously, the group here is special and the city is awesome. You got to discover the city a little bit more over the last few months and, obviously, the fans are great. So, yeah, this would be a place that I would like to stay for a long time," he said.
His reliability, playoff experience, and adaptability make Anthony Beauvillier an asset to the Capitals as they continue to assemble a team well-apt to play deep into the playoffs.

NFL star Dak Prescott is quietly facing the biggest career reckoning of his Cowboys era

Dak Prescott faces his most critical NFL season yet (Image credits: Imagn Images) Dak Prescott begins his 10th NFL season carrying both a fresh four-year extension and the burden of unmet expectations in Dallas. While his contract runs through 2028, the calls for postseason success are louder than ever. In the eyes of many fans and analysts, the window is now — and the excuses are gone. For the Cowboys, it's no longer about potential, but delivery. Criticism builds despite contract and consistency One thing is that Dak Prescott always receives excessive criticism as the Dallas Cowboys quarterback and another that he is on the hot seat for the 2025 NFL season. Prescott's numbers speak for themselves — a reliable passer, a steady leader, and a consistent winner in the regular season. But in Dallas, none of that matters without January results. With every early playoff exit, the pressure intensifies. Critics now question not just his performance, but his ceiling. Dak Prescott should be a success story in the same vein as Tony Romo, as he went from being a mid-round pick to the highest-paid player in the league, yet he is still criticized more than almost anyone else in the NFL and this is shown by his inclusion in the list of quarterbacks on the hot seat 2025. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gold Is Surging in 2025 — Smart Traders Are Already In IC Markets Learn More Undo His path is remarkable, but the shadow of postseason failure continues to follow him. Dallas is a market where patience runs thin and legacies are measured in rings. No matter how strong the regular season looks, the bar is always raised when the playoffs begin. 2025: defining moment or unfair narrative? Dak Prescott's inclusion on the list of quarterbacks who are considered to be on the hot seat for the 2025 NFL season seems extreme, but it is based on the following aspects related to the Cowboys quarterback. A loud LBW appeal followed, and the umpire raised his finger without hesitation, putting India firmly in command. Earlier, India posted a second-innings total of 427/6 declared, setting England an improbable target of 608 runs. The foundation was laid by skipper Shubman Gill, who followed up his first-innings 269 with a blistering 161 off 162 balls, including 13 fours and eight sixes. NFL rookie Xavier Worthy's Super Bowl heartbreak feels like a love story gone wrong

Worthy's rookie dream ends in Super Bowl heartbreak (Image via AP) Xavier Worthy came into the NFL with unmatched speed and sky-high expectations. After making headlines with a record-breaking 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine, the rookie wide receiver joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a beacon of promise. But as the confetti fell in Las Vegas after Super Bowl 59, it wasn't Worthy's speed that stole attention—it was the pain behind his silence. A rookie season that started in flash, ended in frustration The Chiefs, defending champions and led by Patrick Mahomes , were stunned in a 40-22 Super Bowl defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City's offense was overrun—six sacks, three turnovers, and very little rhythm. For Worthy, it was an uphill battle all night. He managed three catches for 39 yards and drew a key penalty, but the breakthrough moment never arrived. After the loss, Worthy didn't issue a press statement or fiery promise. Instead, he posted a sunset photo on Instagram with a quiet but telling caption: 'I told her I'm still not over my first heartbreak.' A second image showed him staring at the Super Bowl field, eyes filled with weight. The message wasn't about love—it was about football. And that pain ran deeper than many expected from a first-year player. While other rookies fade into the offseason, Worthy's emotional honesty made waves. It was a rare glimpse into the mental toll of a high-stakes failure. He had spent months preparing for moments like this—only to watch it slip away. Coaches praised his professionalism during the week, but the disappointment was impossible to mask once the lights dimmed. Turning heartbreak into fuel for a stronger comeback Sources say Worthy has already resumed individual work in the offseason, staying close to the Chiefs' facility and focusing on route precision, timing, and film study. What hurt the most, insiders believe, wasn't the loss—but the feeling of not delivering when it mattered most. His teammates have reportedly rallied around him, impressed by his self-awareness and hunger to grow. Also read: Shannon Sharpe's silence under fire as July 9 court hearing looms in sexual assault case Despite the quiet end to his rookie year, there's no doubt about Worthy's upside. His speed got him into the league, but it's his mindset that may carry him further. In a league built on second chances and hard-earned comebacks, Worthy's heartbreak may yet become his fuel. He's not over it—and maybe that's exactly what will make him great. For real-time updates, scores, and highlights, follow our live coverage of the India vs England Test match here.
