Adobe Wants You To Use Firefly AI To Complete An Artist's Unfinished Film
Created with Adobe's Firefly suite of AI tools that have received significant upgrades in recent months, "The Unfinished Film" is "more than just a creative experiment," according to a blog post from Adobe. "It's a community storytelling project designed to celebrate creative freedom and collaboration. We started with a simple question: What happens when you hand off an idea—not a finished product—to the creative community and invite them to take it further?"
"The Unfinished Film" can be a great marketing tool for Adobe, as the company is inviting creators to come up with their own versions of it. AI image and video generators have gone viral more than once, with ChatGPT's 4o image generator, Google's Veo 3, and Higgsfield Soul being good examples. Adobe Firefly could also benefit from the same popularity among creators.
Specifically, Adobe wants them to use the AI image, video, and audio tools available in Firefly to complete "The Unfinished Film." It's an initiative meant to showcase the growing abilities of the Firefly AI suite to help creators put together anything they imagine with incredible ease.

What Can Adobe Firefly AI Do?
Adobe explains in the blog post that it spent time with creators involved in the video-making process, including editors, filmmakers, and creative teams, to understand what they want. The company says it learned they want amplification, or "tools that spark new ideas, speed up workflows, and preserve creative control," rather than the automation that AI tools can offer.
Firefly is a collection of AI tools available on desktop and mobile that Adobe continuously updates. Earlier this year, we saw Adobe launch Firefly apps for iPhone and Android that complement the Firefly desktop experience and add exceptional third-party AI tools to the app, including Google's Veo 3 and Imagen 4, and Runway's Gen-4 video generator. Firefly Boards supports moodboarding and ideation, so the entire creative process can take place inside the app.
Whether you use the Firefly AI models or rely on third-party options, Firefly lets you do everything in one place. You can generate images and make AI videos controlling everything about the scene and camera with simple text prompts. Firefly supports audio and effects generation for your productions.
All AI content created with the Firefly apps contains a Content Credentials watermark that indicates that a specific piece of art was developed with the help of AI. Visible watermarks would be even better, but they aren't suitable for all projects. What's also important is that Adobe doesn't use your creations and upload data to train its generative models.
Change The Unfinished Film Any Way You Want
Creators excited about the opportunity to edit "The Unfinished Film" with Firefly AI can download it and do whatever they want with it. Adobe encourages them to remix and reshape it and then share it on social media with the #AdobeFirefly hashtag. Unfortunately, there's no contest here, which would have worked even better to make this Adobe idea go viral.
The company's social channels, including Instagram, feature four versions of "The Unfinished Film" from storytellers who already use AI to bring their concepts to life: Noémie Pino, Phil Cohen, Jad Kassis, and Keenan Lam. Some of them kept Finn's narrative structure and modified it by adding their own perspective and ideas. Others recut Finn's film and only used a few sequences that served as inspiration.
Pino's version of "The Unfinished Film" stood out to me. The artist didn't jump straight into Firefly to get the AI image and video generation tools working for her. She storyboarded her ideas and then created her own protagonist out of clay. Pino took photos of the real-life objects, edited them with Adobe's tools, and then used the images to direct the AI. She then inserted the animated version of her clay character in Finn's "Unfinished Film," turning it into her own story.
Also interesting are the short behind-the-scenes clips these four creators made to show how effortless it is to use Firefly AI to bring your ideas to life immediately, without waiting for someone to approve a budget, create special video effects, and manage a production set. Lam's BTS tutorial for "The Unfinished Film," which you'll see on social media, stands out for its creativity.

The colour – which the report suggests is called 'Iris' – is seen in the innards of the case, which has a white outer casing. It looks like the case is designed to reveal a little sliver of that colour when closed, too. There appears to be a band which will be visible on the outside, ensuring your carefully chosen style can still be seen. You might have noticed I'm dwelling slightly here, dear reader, and that's because there isn't an awful lot more to tell you. While the leaked render gives us a good look at the device, there is no accompanying information to make any suggestions about the specs or pricing. With little else to go on, we'll just have to wait for the official launch to offer further comment. Still, with that set to take place in just a few short weeks, we shouldn't have long to wait.

Thrill-seeker to attempt to ride 120 rollercoasters in UK in just over two weeks
A thrill-seeking man is to begin an attempt to ride every rollercoaster in the UK in little over two weeks. Dean Stokes, 36, believes he will become the first person to achieve the feat if he can succeed in riding 120 coasters across 32 theme parks in 16 days, starting in Brighton and ending at Thorpe Park. Mr Stokes worked for five years at Google before leaving the corporate ladder to set up his own business delivering technology training, having grown tired of being unable to try new things. The former UK head of Google for Education decided to set up his own YouTube channel as part of his new work and has already seen his videos about his planned adventure viewed hundreds of thousands of times across social media platforms. Mr Stokes, from Brighton, in East Sussex, told his former Google colleague Simon Fasolo, 44, about his plan to travel the UK in pursuit of the aim. And Mr Fasolo, from Perth, Australia, decided it would be a great way to explore the country – despite hating rollercoasters himself and refusing to join his friend on the rides. The two will begin at Brighton Palace Pier, home to the Crazy Mouse and Turbo rollercoasters, and, according to the route map on the website, hope to have conquered four parks and eight rides in total by the end of the first day. Mr Stokes said: 'I've ridden over 100 rollercoasters in around 25 different theme parks across 10 different countries. 'But I still haven't actually ridden loads of rollercoasters in the UK, so I just thought, why not? 'One of the reasons I left the corporate world was to have a bit more variety in the work that I do and so starting the YouTube channel on the tech side was part of that. 'And I just thought, if I was going to make a channel that was completely different to that, what would it be? And it would probably be rollercoasters and theme parks because I'm a big fan. 'I've included every rollercoaster that's classed as a thrill or extreme rollercoaster, to avoid family and children's rides. But we plan to do all of them consecutively. 'As far as I know, I think I'll be the first person to do it – the only person mad enough to do it.' Mr Stokes said he is open to ideas or suggestions from his followers on social media of tasks within the challenge. The duo have booked around half of the hotels, and plan to travel in a hire car, but delays and unforeseen issues could lead to a stressful journey. He said: 'I think it's going to be quite a lot of stress at points, but I'm looking forward to it overall. 'On social media, I realised it was really resonating with people. 'I think people want to go out and have fun and I think that often we are too scared to get out and just do the things that we love, especially as adults. 'There's this whole community out there that loves theme parks, whether they're proper enthusiasts or just people that like going in the summer with their family, and they are now really excited to follow my progress.' He added: 'Someone commented and said it is the UK theme park enthusiast's dream. It might be difficult, so I'll have to decide whether it feels like a dream at the end of it or not. There are theme parks the two plan to visit across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and they are planning on driving to Dublin for an extra set of rides in the Republic of Ireland. Mr Stokes is excited to support many of the amusement parks which are run as independent businesses, as well as visiting historic seaside resorts, such as Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, which is over a hundred years old. He has asked for permission to film for his YouTube, TikTok and Facebook, and a number of the theme parks have even offered him free tickets. Mr Stokes said: 'A lot of the parks have come back to me and are really on board with the whole idea. 'I need the good summer weather to continue, as I've only packed shorts and T-shirts, and one jacket. But if it all goes to plan, it should be a great trip 'And I'm already looking for inspiration for my next challenge once it's complete – I think the natural next step would be to choose another country and do the same. 'Germany has loads of world world-class theme parks, so we could go and do it there. 'But maybe it could be a country that I've never been to. I know Japan has a few theme parks that'd be cool to get around. But I'll do well to finish this challenge first.'
