A former employee of Italian football club Lazio, who trained the team's Eagle mascot Olympia, has finally been officially removed from the club's premises following a prolonged disagreement that lasted six months.
Juan Bernabe was relieved of his duties at the start of the year after uploading lewd content onto his social media, featuring his prosthetic penis. His actions were met with severe disapproval from the Serie A giants, prompting them to let him go immediately.
Despite being repeatedly asked to vacate the area, Bernabe remained steadfast, unwilling to budge until law enforcement stepped in. Bernabe was removed from the Formello training ground with a warrant after a judge signed off on it.
This Saturday, the club had the following to say regarding the incident: "S.S. Lazio announces that, following an order issued by the Judge of the Tivoli Court, this morning the eviction of former falconer Juan Bernabé was executed, as he was occupying accommodation within the Formello sports centre without authorisation.
"The decision follows the contract termination months ago for behaviours deemed incompatible with the club's ethical values. The Society, after numerous requests for voluntary vacation of the property, acted in competent venues to protect its assets and the operational environment of the sports facility.
"Every action was taken in full compliance with the law, with a firm intention to ensure order, legality, and decorum within its structures."

Bernabe stood by his decision to post the content, citing his upbringing in a naturist family and his intention to bring "visibility" to the procedure. Speaking to Radio 24, he said: "I published it to give visibility to the intervention. I come from a naturist family and do not understand why it is linked with pornography."
Lazio, however, found Bernabe's conduct to be at odds with the club's ethical principles and chose to part ways with him. This also isn't Bernabe's first brush with controversy at the club, reports the Mirror.
In 2021, he faced suspension for making a fascist salute and chanting "duce, duce" (Italian for "leader, leader"), a phrase associated with Italy's former Prime Minister Benito Mussolini, after a game against Inter Milan.

Bernabe's stance at the time was unapologetic: "I did it and I don't regret it because I admire Mussolini, he did great things for Italy as Franco did for Spain."

Despite previous incidents raising eyebrows among some supporters, Lazio had reinstated him due to his connection with the team's mascot and its fans. Now, the Serie A club has decided to completely sever ties with Bernabe.
Reports suggest that Lazio are now searching for a new eagle and falconer to represent them in the 2025/26 season, with Nicola Pataleo being named as a possible replacement.
The 46-year-old has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Zoomarine amusement park and proudly owns nearly 50 birds of prey, including three American bald eagles – the same species as Lazio's newest mascot Olympia.

Lennon Miller: 'Extensive and concrete' bids received for Motherwell star
Jens Berthel Askou confirmed that talks are progressing but wouldn't be drawn on interested clubs Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou says there has been 'extensive interest' in Lennon Miller, but wouldn't be drawn on how far negotiations have gone. Rumours linked Miller with a £5m bid from Serie A side Bologna, and though Askou says there have been 'concrete' bids in for the midfielder, he refused to reveal which clubs were interested. It's speculated that it would take upwards of £6m to prise Miller away from Fir Park, but Askou is looking at potentially playing the youngster in Saturday's Premiership curtain-raiser against Rangers. When asked if a bid had been accepted, Askou said: 'That is a question maybe not for me but for the board, who are working with this matter at the moment. 'A lot of things are going on, have been for a while, and thee interest is increasing every day, and every week for Lennon's situation. 'We'll see when we can say more, but there is real concrete interest, there have been some bids, and it intensifies the situation around him. 'Whenever these things are drawing to a conclusion we will be able to say more, but there is extensive interest in Lennon Miller from a lot of places, and more and more is becoming concrete and specific. 'But still Lennon is doing his best to get back fit, he has been partially in training today, and hopefully he will be in full training tomorrow, and we can then take a decision on whether it's time for him to be part of the team again on Saturday, or whether it's a little bit too late, while all the other things are working in the background. 'Lennon has to give us some feedback on how he feels, then the medical staff will advise whether it's a good decision, but at the end of the day it's my decision.' Askou added: 'Lennon is dealing with it really well. He's a young man, but a mature young man. I've had some talks with him, and I understand that a lot of things go through your head when there is all this speculation and also concrete things going on. 'But I think he's himself when he's here, he's happy and works hard, and just wants to play football and be part of the group, which is really enjoyable to see. 'It's not affecting him, and it's not affecting us.'

Nottingham Forest sign winger Ndoye from Bologna
July 31 (Reuters) - Nottingham Forest have signed Swiss winger Dan Ndoye from Serie A side Bologna on a five-year deal, the Premier League club said on Thursday. Financial details of the transfer were not revealed by either club but British media reported Forest paid a fee of around 34 million pounds ($45 million) for the 24-year-old Switzerland international. Ndoye joined Bologna in August 2023 from Swiss side Basel for around 10 million euros ($11 million). He made 41 appearances for Bologna across all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and registering six assists. He scored the winning goal against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final, helping Bologna secure their first major trophy in 51 years. "It is a really exciting time at Forest and I knew straight away that I wanted to be a part of the project. It's a really ambitious team with a fantastic history and I can't wait to get started," Ndoye said. Ndoye could take the place of former Forest winger Anthony Elanga, who joined Newcastle United earlier this month and also played mainly on the right, like Ndoye. Since making his international debut in 2022, Ndoye has earned 22 caps for Switzerland, starting all five matches at Euro 2024 during their run to the quarter-finals. Forest, who secured a solid seventh-place finish last season, begin their Premier League campaign at home against Brentford on August 17. ($1 = 0.8747 euros) ($1 = 0.7564 pounds)

Tottenham open talks for Bayern Munich star after Arsenal transfer approach
Tottenham have set their sights on signing Joao Palhinha and talks are ongoing with Bayern Munich over a possible loan agreement for the midfielder. Palhinha will have been itching to make up for lost time having joined Bayern in a £47.4million transfer from Fulham, 12 months after seeing a proposed deal collapse. But Palhinha was hampered by injuries across a frustrating debut season last term at the Allianz Arena and managed a total of just six league starts across Bayern's title-winning campaign. Having found himself below Leon Goretzka, Aleks Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Laimer in the pecking order by the end of the season, the 30-year-old is now deemed surplus to requirements. The recent arrival of Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim only adds more uncertainty to Palhinha's situation and there is a real possibility the Portugal international could be on the move again before the transfer deadline comes around. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we'll send you so we can get football news tailored to you. According to The Athletic, Palhinha has been made 'available' by Bayern and Spurs are keeping close tabs on developments, with new head coach Thomas Frank pushing for reinforcements in midfield. The report claims Tottenham and Bayern have picked up negotiations again having agreed a permanent deal for Mathys Tel – following an initial loan move – this summer. Palhinha would follow Mohammed Kudus, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai through the doors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to become Spurs' fourth new recruit of the transfer window. Earlier this month, reports emanating out of Germany claimed Arsenal were interested in Palhinha and had held 'serious' discussions to sign the Bayern misfit prior to the Club World Cup. Serie A giants Inter Milan have also been heavily linked with Palhinha, while top teams in Spain, Turkey and Portugal are also said to be monitoring developments. But during a recent interview with Portuguese outlet Sport TV, Palhinha insisted he remained committed to his contract with Bayern, which runs through to June 2028. 'I have a contract for three more years, so I'll report for duty on July 29, which is when we start this pre-season,' he said. More Trending 'As I've said several times, and it's been a recurring question, I have three more years on my contract.' Palhinha admitted there was some uncertainty over his future, but is determined to 'prove his worth' after a disappointing first year in German football. He added: 'I don't know what will happen, but I'm at a great club, as I've always said, he added. 'Obviously, it hasn't been an easy year, but as soon as the season starts, I'm very motivated to prove my worth once again at a very special club, a huge club.'
