Infra projects to get a big push in Tirupati dist
Dr Venkateswar stressed the need to resolve issues affecting the six-lane road and Tirupati Bypass, as well as the four-lane Renigunta–Chennai road. He asked revenue divisional officers to coordinate closely with National Highway authorities to ensure progress under Packages 2, 3, and 4 of the Sagarmala scheme. Quality and timely execution must be ensured, he said.
The Collector announced that land acquisition for the Nadikudi–Srikalahasti railway line is complete, and directed officials to commence construction works without delay. He also called for fast-tracking railway projects in Renigunta, Pudi, Gudur, Pakala, and Tirupati city. Further, he urged officials to speed up land acquisition for the Renigunta–Tiruchanur railway line and resolve issues hindering the Tirupati–Renigunta Bypass. The meeting was attended by National Highway Project Directors Venkatesh (Tirupati) and M K Chowdhary (Nellore), Gudur Sub-Collector Raghavendra Meena, RDOs Kiranmayee (Sullurupeta) and Bhanuprakash Reddy (Srikalahasti), along with tahsildars of the concerned mandals.

Chief minister to visit Tirupati tomorrow
Tirupati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be arriving here to participate in a series of programmes on July 19. According to official sources, the Chief Minister will participate in Swachh Andhra - Swarna Andhra programme and later in Praja Vedika. Before his departure from Renigunta airport to return to Vijayawada, the Chief Minister will participate in a programme at IIT near Yerpedu. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar along with JC Subham Bansal and SP V Harshavardhan Raju on Thursday held a meeting at Tirupati airport on the arrangements including security and also reviewed the arrangements where the Chief Minister will participate. The Collector said the Chief Minister will also visit Kapilatheertham and later the Corporation waste management project at Thukivakam village near Tirupati. ASPs Ravi Manoharachari, Venkat Rao, RDO Rammohan, Ruia Superintendent Dr Radha and fire officer Ramanaiah were present.

Common Incubation Centre at IIT Tirupati to boost food processing
Tirupati: Union minister for food processing industries (MoFPI) Chirag Paswan said that the newly-established Common Incubation Centre (CIC) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati is a model initiative that supports the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the goal of doubling farmers' income. The minister inaugurated the facility virtually on Thursday and addressed the gathering at IIT Tirupati. District collector Dr S Venkateswar, Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudhir Reddy, IIT Tirupati director Prof K N Satyanarayana, MoFPI joint secretary Devesh Dayal, state government's food processing secretary Chiranjeevi Chowdary and several others participated in the event. The CIC is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in the Chittoor and Tirupati regions, with a special focus on the food processing sector. The facility is designed to facilitate value addition and processing of locally abundant produce like tomatoes, mangoes (including mango pulp), and other agricultural commodities. Appreciating IIT Tirupati's efforts in setting up the centre in collaboration with the MoFPI, Paswan said the Centre is committed to encouraging value addition and entrepreneurship in the food processing sector. He also assured that the government would extend all possible support for the successful completion of the project. The minister appreciated the detailed proposal presented by IIT Tirupati director and the state government's food processing secretary and lauded the initiative's potential to strengthen the local economy. Speaking at the event, MLA Sudhir Reddy praised IIT Tirupati for taking proactive steps to engage with local industries and youth. He said the incubation centre would be a game changer for the youth and farming communities of the region. The MLA also suggested forming an advisory committee with government representatives to study the horticulture and food processing needs of Chittoor and Tirupati districts, and to encourage growth in these sectors. District collector Venkateswar stated that Andhra Pradesh has made significant progress in the horticulture sector over the past 15 years, contributing around 9.5 per cent to the state's GDP. He mentioned that Tirupati district alone generates 9.25 per cent of its GDP from horticulture. He noted that Rayalaseema, once known as a drought-prone region, has undergone a remarkable transformation through horticulture. Along with micro-irrigation methods like drip and sprinkler systems, around 5 to 6 lakh farm ponds have been created with the support of NREGS and as per the Chief Minister's directives. These efforts have improved groundwater levels, greatly benefiting the horticulture sector, he added. IIT Tirupati director Prof Satyanarayana explained that the centre was conceived to foster rural entrepreneurs and startups in food processing, especially in Chittoor and Tirupati districts, which are major producers of tomatoes, mangoes, and other fruits. The facility was established at a cost of Rs 3.95 crore, of which Rs 2.75 crore was provided by the ministry of food processing industries, while IIT Tirupati contributed Rs 1.2 crore from its own resources. To fully equip the centre, an additional Rs 60 lakh is still required.

CM to take part in ‘Praja Vedika' on July 19
Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the Praja Vedika programme in Tirupati on July 19, where he is scheduled to interact with the 'Golden Families' and their mentors under the State's flagship P4 initiative. In preparation for the CM's visit, District Collector Dr S Venkateswar convened a review meeting with key officials at his chambers in the Tirupati Collectorate on Wednesday. Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that the State government has taken up the P4 programme (Public, Private, People Partnership) as a prestigious initiative aimed at the eradication of poverty. Under the P4 initiative, the administration has identified 'Golden Families', those who fall within the bottom 20 per cent of the socio-economic strata. The top 10 per cent of well-established individuals and families have been tasked with mentoring and supporting these Golden Families by addressing their educational, skill development, and other essential needs. 'These mentors are expected to build long-term relationships with the Golden Families and provide them with necessary guidance, assurance, and support,' Dr Venkateswar stated. He stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and community participation to ensure the success of the P4 programme, especially in view of the Chief Minister's upcoming interaction with the beneficiaries. The meeting was attended by Joint Collector Shubham Bansal, Municipal Commissioner N Mourya, Trainee Collector Sandeep Raghu Vanshi, and Corporation Deputy Commissioner Amarayya. Representatives from several key organisations including Taj Hotel, RASS, Amara Raja Group, Rotary Club, and Pai Viceroy Hotel also participated in the discussions.
