Earlier, Bhutto has claimed that Pakistan does not know the location of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. He said that Islamabad would be happy to arrest Azhar if India provides Pakistan with information about him. Notably, Bhutto is a part of the ruling coalition in Pakistan.
Masood Azhar name is linked to some of the most devastating terror attacks the India has faced including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the 2016 Pathankot airbase assault, and the deadly Pulwama attack in 2019. In 2019, the United Nations officially designated him as a global terrorist.
Azhar's release in 1999, following the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 to Kandahar, was a moment of deep national trauma. India agreed to release him in exchange for the safe return of the hostages onboard the plane.
For years, India has urged Pakistan to take action and hand over Azhar, along with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed. Despite concrete evidence of their presence and activities within its borders, Pakistan has consistently denied their involvement, often claiming ignorance.

Islamabad had earlier said that the India-Pakistan ties would come up for a discussion during Ishaq Dar's visit to Washington. "Exchange of views will also take place on the Pakistan-India question," Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said on Thursday. The US has time and again claimed credit for brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, a claim New Delhi has denied multiple times, but Islamabad as accepted. "We remain grateful for the role played by the US in de-escalation of tensions leading to ceasefire,' Khan had said, briefing on Ishaq Dar's US visit agenda. The outcomes of the Modi-Muizzu talks signalled a major turnaround in the relationship after a spell of unease and tension. In his remarks, PM Modi said the two sides will soon work towards finalising a bilateral investment treaty and that the negotiations on a free trade agreement have already begun. Modi and Muizzu also jointly inaugurated a number of India-assisted projects, including a new defence ministry building in Male, roads and drainage systems in Addu city and 3,300 housing units in Hulhumale. The prime minister also handed over 72 vehicles and equipment for use by the Maldives National Defence Force. The defence ministry building is a "concrete building of trust" and it is a symbol of our "strong partnership", the prime minister said. "India will continue to support Maldives in the development of its defence capabilities. Peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region is our common goal," he said. The comments came against the backdrop of New Delhi's concerns over China's attempts to expand its influence over the Maldives. In his remarks, Modi said the Maldives holds an "important place" in both India's "Neighbourhood First" policy and its MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) vision. "India is also proud to be the most trusted friend of Maldives. Be it a disaster or a pandemic, India has always stood by as a 'first responder'," he said. The prime minister also referred to India and the Maldives unveiling a vision for a comprehensive economic and maritime security partnership during Muizzu's visit to New Delhi in October last year. "Now it is becoming a reality. And as a result of that, our relations are touching new heights," he said. Modi also highlighted the functioning of India's UPI (Unified Payments Interface) system in the Maldives. "The speed with which UPI is being promoted in Maldives will give a boost to both tourism and retail," he said. "We have taken several steps to accelerate our economic partnership. To accelerate mutual investment, we will soon work towards finalising the bilateral investment treaty. Negotiations on a free trade agreement have also begun," Modi said. The prime minister arrived here from London in the second and final leg of his two-nation trip. Ensure minimum basic facilities in all govt schools within 15 days, ACS asks officials
Patna: Additional chief secretary (education), S Siddharth , on Friday directed all the regional deputy directors of education (RDDEs) and district education officers (DEOs) to ensure minimum basic facilities in all govt schools within 15 days under the supervision of the programme officer and block education officer. In a letter addressed to all RDDEs and DEOs, Siddharth pointed out that despite continuous efforts by the department to make govt schools well-equipped, several deficiencies were observed during various inspections. These include lack of electrification in schools, bulbs, tube lights and fans in classrooms, besides no running water facility in toilets and the same being filled with dirt, and non-utilisation of equipment used in smart classes. The department has provided schools with an amount of Rs 50,000. The DEO will ensure that this amount is available in all schools. "The DEOs have been instructed to ensure the availability of teachers in all govt schools of the state. This includes a minimum of three teachers in all govt primary schools, eight in middle schools, and at least one teacher for specific subject in secondary and higher secondary schools," Siddharth said. He further said that they would deploy teachers in these schools based on the norms through the e-Shikshakosh portal. "All regional deputy directors of education and DEOs will also review the completion of the syllabus for the half-yearly examination in all schools and ensure that the course for the half-yearly examination in all classes is completed. The officials will continuously review all districts under their division to ensure the completion of work within the stipulated time limit," he added.
