Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Teaser Out Ahead Of July 28 Launch

NDTV4 hours ago
Kinetic Green is set to launch a new electric scooter in the Indian market on July 28. Named after the DX, the electric two-wheeler is billed as the modern version of the two-stroke Kinetic Honda DX, which was available in the Indian market over 40 years ago. After the announcement of its launch, the brand has released the first teaser of the EV. Once launched, it will be a rival to models like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Ather Rizta, and others.
Starting with the design details, the electric scooter is expected to have illuminated logos. One of these units with the Kinetic lettering will be placed above the horizontal headlamp, with the logo on the front apron highlighted by the black panel. The teaser also provides a glimpse of the electric scooter's switchgear. This hints that the EV will have fake exhaust noises, probably imitating the original model.
Images captured during testing of the electric scooter have provided a clearer view of the vehicle, showcasing its simple design that strongly resembles the original DX. Kinetic has shared some minor specifications about the scooter, such as the inclusion of a TFT display. The company has also announced that the battery choices for the scooter will vary between 1.8 kWh and 3 kWh, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
From a mechanical perspective, the spy shots have indicated that the scooter will come equipped with a front disc brake and a hub-mounted electric motor, while the suspension will consist of a telescopic fork in the front and dual shocks in the rear.

CoinDCX hacked, $44 million lost in security breach

New Delhi: In a major security incident, CoinDCX, one of India's cryptocurrency exchanges, has confirmed a hacking attack that led to a loss of around $44 million (nearly Rs 368 crore). The hack took place early on Saturday and targeted one of the company's internal operational accounts. However, the Mumbai-based crypto platform has assured users that their personal funds are completely safe. In a statement, CoinDCX clarified that the compromised account was only used for liquidity operations on a partner exchange and did not store any customer assets. Sumit Gupta, Co-founder of CoinDCX, explained on social media that this particular account was hit due to a 'sophisticated server breach.' He added that the losses will be covered entirely by the company's treasury reserves, which are 'sufficiently healthy' to absorb the damage. Soon after detecting the attack, CoinDCX temporarily paused its Web3 trading platform as a precaution. However, it is now live again. Regular trading and INR withdrawals on the main crypto exchange were never stopped, and users can continue to use the platform without any issues. Gupta also advised investors not to panic. 'Don't panic, sell your assets,' he wrote on X, warning that such moves often result in bad prices and unnecessary losses. 'Let the markets settle. Stay calm, stay confident,' he added. The company's internal security team is currently working with global cybersecurity partners to investigate the breach, patch vulnerabilities, and trace the stolen funds. CoinDCX is also planning to launch a bug bounty programme soon. This programme will encourage ethical hackers to report any weaknesses in the system in exchange for rewards. While the incident has shaken some users, CoinDCX has promised to share all verified details once the investigation is complete. 'This is more than just an internal matter. It's a reminder of the evolving threats facing crypto platforms globally,' Gupta said. The breach comes at a time when crypto security is under the spotlight in India. The government is expected to release its first crypto policy paper soon, which could bring clearer regulations to the sector. This is not the first time a major Indian exchange has suffered a hack. Last year, WazirX lost over $230 million worth of crypto due to a security breach linked to compromised private keys. CoinDCX says it is taking this incident very seriously and will continue to focus on building a safe and trustworthy crypto ecosystem in India.

Middle-class salary a scam? CoinSwitch founder calls out the illusion behind flights, phones, and quiet financial stress

Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads How people reacted? The Indian middle class has long been celebrated as the engine of growth — aspirational, resilient, and quietly holding up the country's consumption story. But beneath the surface of smartphones, air travel, and EMI-backed lifestyles, a deeper crisis is a sharp and sobering take, CoinSwitch cofounder Ashish Singhal calls out what he terms 'the biggest scam no one talks about' — the slow, silent, and systematic erosion of middle-class financial biggest scam no one talks about?Middle-class the past 10 years:- The group earning under ₹5L saw a 4% CAGR- ₹5L–₹1Cr income group has seen just 0.4% CAGR- Food prices? Up nearly 80%- Purchasing power? Cut almost in half- But spending? Up, funded by creditThis isn't a a well-dressed still flying once a buying a paying you're also skipping the the doctor the mental math in every Zomato AI is quietly threatening white-collar jobs- Political attention stays on welfare funding- The ultra-rich have grown 7x in a decadeThe poor are being rich are middle class is just expected to absorb the shock, in complaints. No bailouts. Just inflation, EMIs, and quiet time we start talking about this groupNot as a vote bank or a spending class,But as a segment that's powering the economy, yet getting squeezed out of you think it's just an income issue, or even a money management issue?"This is not just India, but a global phenomenon. The middle-class salary crisis isn't just India's problem. It's hitting even the developed nations. Sometimes, I wonder, what will come at the extreme of it?If this isn't addressed soon, it will lead to reduced consumption from the Middle-class. The middle class in India (and globally as well ) is a key driver of all consumption, contributing significantly to all economy and the value of "The money". Reduced consumption from the middle class could slow economies, weaken currencies, and even dent the ultra-rich's wealth. The middle class drives growth. That money won't matter if the economies collapses and then currency loses it's value as a chain reaction.I have even been thinking of a solution for this problem. ( I am so unemployed, I have nothing better to do... ).I feel the rich shouldn't be so selfish and greedy about the money, rather give out most of the wealth, Embracing the `effective altruism`. I am not saying people shouldn't scale and grow more revenue. I am saying "Earning to give". If the rich could embrace 'earning to give,' sharing wealth to stabilize the system for the collective good. It could fix this issue. But who we are kidding?" said one user.
