A Tequila and a mezcal were selected as the top spirits in their respective categories at the 2025 Bartender Spirits Awards. Below is a brief description and tasting notes for the two agave spirits.
Don Nacho Tributo Reposado Tequila is crafted by the Hernandez Gutierrez family in Jalisco's Los Altos region, paying homage to the rich traditions of Jalisco's Highlands. The Tequila undergoes a traditional production process that includes slow-cooking the agave in stone ovens, roller mill extraction, and fermentation in stainless steel tanks without fibers.
The spirit is then double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills and aged for 10 months in new American white oak barrels, developing a harmonious balance of agave character and oak influence.
The Tequila presents a bright straw-yellow hue with golden highlights, reflecting its extended maturation in oak barrels. On the nose, it exhibits fresh and baked agave notes, while subtle hints of vanilla, maple syrup, citrus zest, and a hint of anise/licorice add complexity.
On the palate, the Tequila is robust and aromatic. It reflects an agave and oak-forward profile, showcasing seasoned wood, spice notes of pepper and cinnamon, and a subtle caramel sweetness. The finish is long, slightly sweet, and smooth, with lingering notes of cooked agave, wood spices, and caramel.
Don Nacho Tributo Reposado is a testament to the heritage and craftsmanship of Jalisco's Tequila producers. Its balanced profile, marked by the interplay of agave and oak, offers a refined tasting experience that appeals to both connoisseurs and beginners.
Mezcal with chili pepper and slice of orange. A typical Mexican alcoholic beverage, it's made from many different types of agave.

400 Conejos Espadín Joven Mezcal is a widely available mezcal expression, crafted in the town of Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, the heart of mezcal production. The mezcal is made from 100% Espadín agave from Oaxaca, Mexico. José Cuervo owns the brand.
As Mezcal has grown in popularity, its production has increasingly bifurcated between large, industrial-sized producers utilizing Espadin agave, and artisanal producers using a mix of traditional wild and domesticated agaves.
The production process involves roasting the agave hearts in traditional underground pits, followed by crushing with a stone wheel 'tahona,' fermentation in wooden vats, and double distillation in copper pot stills. The result is a joven or unaged mezcal that reflects the essence of Oaxaca's mezcal terroir.
The mezcal is crystal-clear with silver nuances, showcasing its unaged nature. The nose features aromas of wood smoke and light char, accompanied by subtle hints of ripe fruit and herbal/herbaceous notes.
Sweet cooked agave is featured prominently on the palate along with herbaceous and fruity notes, and a persistent cold smoke. The finish is long and smooth, with a subtle yet persistent smokiness and lingering fruity and herbaceous notes.
400 Conejos Espadín Joven Mezcal offers an authentic taste of Oaxaca's mezcal heritage at a reasonable price point. Its balanced, complex flavor profile and smooth finish make it suitable for both sipping and mixing, regardless of whether you're new to mezcal or a seasoned enthusiast.
The International Bartender Spirits Awards is a renowned global competition that showcases the world's best spirits. Selection is based on quality, innovation, value, and craftsmanship. Judged by an expert panel of bartenders and industry professionals, the competition is highly regarded in the spirits industry and serves as a benchmark for quality.
These two spirits are both readily accessible and reasonably priced. More importantly, according to some of America's top bartenders, they are also among the world's best Tequila and Mezcal. Both are worth trying and, if you like them, adding them to your bar!

Brad Pitt Would Act With Tom Cruise Again but Only on the Ground: ‘I'm Not Gonna Hang My Ass Off Airplanes and S— Like That'

Brad Pitt told E! News at the Mexico premiere of 'F1' that he would be interested in acting opposite Tom Cruise again, as long as it doesn't require any death-defying aerial stunts. The two A-listers famously starred together in the 1994 horror drama 'Interview With the Vampire.' Pitt and Cruise never reunited on screen after that. 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that,' Pitt said with a laugh when asked about working with Cruise again. Custom Oakley Eyewear Pitt's 'F1' movie is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the duo behind Cruise's record-breaking 'Top: Gun Maverick.' Pitt's movie was being developed while Cruise's movie was in post-production. 'Top Gun: Maverick' earned $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office in summer 2022. Kosinski recently told GQ magazine that he originally planned to reunite Cruise and Pitt for his version of 'Ford v Ferrari,' although the studio never approved his budget. James Mangold ended up directing 'Ford v Ferrari' with Christian Bale and Matt Damon instead. 'Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled,' Kosinski said when asked about what would've happened had Cruise starred in 'F1' over Pitt. 'They both have the natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.' 'We'd have had a crash,' the film's action vehicle supervisor Graham Kelly quipped to GQ. 'Tom pushes it to the limit. I mean really to the limit. That terrifies me. I mean, I've done loads of 'Mission: Impossibles' with Tom and it's the most stressful experience for someone like me building cars for him, doing stunts with him. Whereas Brad listens and he knows his abilities, and I think he'd be the first to say, 'Yeah, I'm not going to do that.'' Pitt's 'F1' is set to open in theaters June 27. Cruise opened his own summer blockbuster in May with 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning,' in which he dangled from the side of a moving airplane during one stunt. Katy Perry's Tearful Onstage Moment May Have Foreshadowed Trouble With Orlando Bloom

While Katy Perry's romance troubles with former fiancé Orlando Bloom were rumored for months, the 40-year-old pop star might have been openly weeping about their demise while she was on tour. A newly resurfaced video on X from her Mexico City tour dates in late April shows an emotional moment while singing her 2010 single, 'Pearl.' (You can see the video clip here.) One look at her anguished face as she sang the lyric, 'I let him rule my world,' and fans just knew she was going through something. They may not have known it was directly related to Bloom, but the pain resonated throughout the arena. More from SheKnows Orlando Bloom Seemingly Cozied Up to Someone Close to the Royal Family During Jeff Bezos' Wedding She continued with the song, 'But I woke up and grew strong, and I can still go on and no one can take my pearl.' That foreshadowing moment on The Lifetimes Tour may have hinted that there was trouble on the horizon between the couple. Their relationship appeared to be rocked by her Blue Origin space flight on April 14. Even though Bloom was in attendance to support Perry with their four-year-old daughter Daisy, he reportedly didn't approve of her short jaunt to space. 'He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,' an insider told the Daily Mail. 'He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. Imagine going to space… and your partner isn't impressed. Of course, she was hurt.' The Mexico City tour dates began only nine days after the Blue Origin trip, so it seems that her emotions were running high. Despite rumors of a possible reconciliation, it looks like Perry and Bloom are done for now. He attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Venice wedding alone on June 27 while Perry is enjoying tour dates in Australia. TMZ was the first to report their split on June 24 and People confirmed that the former dynamic duo went their separate ways on June 26. Their love story began in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and continued in an on-again, off-again fashion for years until their Valentine's Day engagement in 2019. Perry gushed about her relationship with Bloom in September 2024 during an interview on Apple Music with Zane Lowe. 'He's a real sage. We both have parts of ourselves. There's two parts of us, our highest good, and then our carnal, material self. Ego,' Perry said. 'When the ego is running the show, then it's like, 'Whoa.' But when that's in check, then we're both something else.'Best of SheKnows 60 Times Emma Stone's Timeless Red Carpet Fashion Looks Took Our Breath Away 39 Times Actresses Totally Transformed For a Role: See Side-by-Side Photos Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez's Full Relationship Timeline
