
Teenage girl sexually assaulted in church grounds in Steyning
A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in the grounds of a church in Steyning on Thursday morning, police have said.Officers from Sussex Police were called to St Andrew and St Cuthman's Church, in Vicarage Lane at about 09:00 GMT.The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, around 5'7", with dark brown short hair, stubble, and brown eyes. He was said to be wearing a long navy coat, grey joggers and white Nike Air Force 1 trainers with a blue tick. He was also seen leaving the area in a black car.Police said they are investigating, the victim is being supported by specialist officers and there will be increased patrols in the area over the coming days.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation – including any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage - is asked to report to police online or via 101, quoting Operation Corfe.

Armed police and helicopter search for men following Brighton fight
Armed police and a helicopter were called in after a fight in Brighton, East Sussex, on Thursday evening, Sussex Police say. Three men escaped from the scene in Bamford Close, in a car which was later dumped and set said they recovered "a bladed weapon" near the arrests have been made. A POLICE manhunt has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted in a busy town centre. Cops have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to after the attack in East Grinstead in West Sussex on June 17. Sussex Police confirmed a a 25-year-old woman was assaulted by touching whilst walking down London Road at around 7pm. The horror unfolded on the high street outside Greenway Residential and The Vapers Shop. Officers have launched a probe into the incident and have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information. Footage shows the man wearing a dark gilet puffer jacket, black jumper, black hat and tracksuit bottoms. In a statement, the force said: "Police investigating a sexual assault on a woman in East Grinstead have issued an image of a man they wish to speak with. "It follows a report in London Road in the town, at about 7.10pm on17 June, outside Greenway Residential and The Vapers Shop. "A 25-year-old woman walking in the street was sexually assaulted by touching. She has received support from officers.
