On behalf of the people of the state, I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome. This land, once the cradle of India's industrial revolution, is now poised to script a new chapter of development and progress."
Yogi hailed Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India's military might and growing self-reliance. He said, "From the surgical strikes to the air strikes, and now Operation Sindoor—under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the Indian Army has shown the world that India does not merely respond but defines how it responds.
This is a resolute message of a confident and self-reliant nation. Operation Sindoor stands as a formidable testament to the success of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying and inauguration of Rs 47,600 crore worth of development projects, the CM said, "This transformative initiative marks a major stride in Uttar Pradesh's journey to become the growth engine of Viksit Bharat.
With the inauguration of the second phase of the Kanpur Metro, following the first phase launched by PM Modi in 2021, the city's public transport system is being modernized for the benefit of its citizens.
" Referring to the state's expanding energy sector, Yogi highlighted that the commissioning of thermal power plants in Panki, Ghatampur, Jawaharpur (Etah), Obra (Sonbhadra), and Khurja (Bulandshahr) has raised UP's power generation capacity from 15,000MW to 25,000MW.
By the end of the year, this will increase by an additional 4,000MW, he said.
He shared other major milestones, such as electricity now reaching 1.21 lakh majras across the state. At least 1.78 crore poor families have received free electricity connections. Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, free rooftop solar panels have been installed in 1.31 lakh homes, with a target to surpass 11 lakh applications soon.
Yogi said, "This developmental journey, which begins in Kanpur, is not just about one city—it signifies the collective progress of Uttar Pradesh. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the state is scaling new heights in every domain, from security to economic prosperity."

NCERT to create school module on Operation Sindoor for classes 3-12: Report

The NCERT is developing a special classroom module on Operation Sindoor to help students learn about India's defence strategy and diplomatic response, according to sources. The module will have two partsfirst for students from class 3 to 8 and another one for students from class 9 to 12. A source said that the special module prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will have 8 to 10 pages focussing on India's strategic military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The aim is to make students understand how nations respond to terror threats and how defence, diplomacy, and coordination between ministries play a role in national security, the source said. Twenty-six men were gunned down in front of their family members in a deadly terror attack in in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. India retaliated by targeting terror sites in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, leading to a four-day conflict between the two countries. A special discussion on Operation Sindoor would also be taken up in the Lok Sabha from Monday after a weeklong virtual washout of Parliament proceedings. The opposition made a strong demand for a discussion on Operation Sindoor on the first day of the Monsoon session. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs S Jaishankar are likely to participate in the 16-hour debate that is expected to stretch over three days.

The tourism in Maldives is set to grow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu said on Saturday, adding that India is one of the major countries that helps tourism in the island nation. PM Modi attended the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Maldives at the Republic Square in Male as the Guest of Honour.(DPR PMO) Muizzu also said that he is hopeful about a free trade agreement with India, adding that he is 'very hopeful' about the talks. "India is one of the major countries that helps the Maldives' tourism, with the Prime Minister's visit, it is going to increase, and our people-to-people connection will also be enhanced," the Maldivian President said as Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his two-day visit to Maldives. '...I am very hopeful. We have started it (FTA talks) and we will conclude it very soon...' he added. He also said that India would be a 'crucial partner' for the country in the future. 'We all have seen how India has helped the Maldives in the past, and nobody will doubt how India will be a very crucial partner going forward,' Muizzu said. The Maldivian President further hailed India as 'one of the major countries' in terms of its contribution to Maldives' tourism. Muizzu said that the tourism would increase following PM Modi's visit. '…Our people-to-people connection will also be enhanced,' he added. When asked if he plans to visit India soon, Muizzu said he hopes to do so. 'I don't know whether this year or maybe in the near future,' he said. This came even as PM Modi attended the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Maldives at the Republic Square in Male as the Guest of Honour. Modi took to X to say he was 'deeply honoured' to have attended the celebrations, adding that the bilateral relations between the nations would strengthen after 'productive talks' with Muizzu. Modi's visit to Maldives marked a reset in the ties between India and Maldives, after relations deteriorated following Mohamed Muizzu's election pinned on the 'India Out' campaign. However, diplomatic relations between the two nations came back on track after Muizzu's visit to India in October. Modi's visit to Maldives marks the first by any foreign leader after Muizzu's election. During Modi's visit, Muizzu referred to India as 'Maldives's closest and most trusted partner'. Apart from signing multiples MoUs, both countries also launched talks on the free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations. India also extended Line of Credit (LoC) of ₹4,850 crores to Maldives, and a stamp commemorating the 60th anniversary of establishment of India-Maldives diplomatic relations was issued.
