PAFA respects Perak FC's decision to withdraw from M-League
PAFA president Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin said they respected the decision made by XOX Berhad due to the financial constraints faced by the company.
He said they had been informed that the Board of Directors of XOX Berhad had decided to withdraw the eight-time Malaysia Cup champions from the competitions.
'PAFA deeply appreciates and extends its sincere gratitude to XOX Berhad for their contributions to the state football team through Perak FC.
'We also sympathise with the plight faced by the Perak FC players, especially the young players, and PAFA will assist within its capabilities, particularly in football development and the career pathways of young Perak players,' he said in a statement today.
Mohd Azhar said that although the Perak team has been dissolved, football in the state remains 'alive' through grassroots development efforts being carried out by PAFA.
'At present, PAFA is forming the SUKMA 2025/2026 squad while also considering providing exposure and experience to the SUKMA squad by allowing them to compete in the A1 or A2 League.
'In addition, we will seek advice from the state government as well as from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), the Malaysian Football League (MFL) and the Amateur Football League (AFL) on the next steps,' he said.
Earlier, Perak FC chairman Datuk Seri Azim Zabidi confirmed that The Bos Gaurus squad was forced to withdraw from next season's Super League competition due to financial difficulties.

NEWLY appointed Kelantan TRW head coach E. Elavarasan is determined to steer the team to a stronger standing in the 2025/26 Super League campaign. Elavarasan said that in the previous season, the team — then known as Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) — had finished at the bottom of the league table, and this time he is targeting at least a top-eight finish. 'I accepted the offer to become the new head coach due to several factors. I've always seen Kelantan as a team with great history and once among the best. That is what drives me to restore its standing in this Super League season. 'I had discussions with clubs abroad before making this decision. 'We need to play first before we can truly assess our strengths and weaknesses. We're also expecting the arrival of foreign players next week. 'So far, we have 10 players including those with experience, as well as some under-23 players with strong potential. With the addition of new players and management, I hope we can bring the team to a much better level,' he said.

Sivasangari recharges for new season
KUALA LUMPUR: S. Sivasangari, who performed inconsistently in the 2024-25 squash season, needs to buck up for the 2025-26 season which begins in September. The 26-year-old Kedahan played in 15 tournaments this season and won one title — the Cincinnati Cup in February and rose to a career best of world No. 7. She finished second in the Malaysia Cup last November and Grasshopper Cup in Switzerland in April, reached two semi-finals: the Silicon Valley Open in California last October and Singapore Open last November. Sivasangari started the 2024-25 season as world No. 9 but was upset by Egypt's world No. 16 Nada Abbas in the third round of the Egyptian Open last September in her opening season tournament. She ended the season on a disappointing note after losing all her group matches — to American world No. 4 Olivia Weaver, Egypt's world No. 14 Fayrouz Aboelkheir and Japanese Satomi Watanabe — in the PSA Tour Finals in Toronto last week. Sivasangari said: "The 2024/25 season is done and dusted. Full of ups, downs, growth, and change. Some big goals achieved, but even more lessons learned. "Time to rest, recharge, and go again," said Sivasangari, who is based in Prague under former world champion Gregory Gaultier.

Kipre is a keeper

But Tchetche Kipre is doing the opposite, still pushing, still learning, and still respecting the game and those around him. The Ivorian striker is entering his ninth consecutive season in the Malaysian League, this time with Penang and insists that humility and a hunger to grow are keeping him going at the top level. 'I don't have a secret,' said Kipre. 'It's not easy at this age to reach this level, but I work hard and do my best. If there is one thing I believe in, it's respect. 'I still want to learn from the young boys and always listen to what the coaches want. That's what keeps me going.' Kipre's journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From his early days at Ivorian side Jeunesse in 2008 to stints in Tanzania and Oman, his career took off in Malaysia when he joined Terengganu in 2017. Since then, he's become a feared figure in the Super League, with 151 appearances, 69 goals, and 33 assists to his name. His ability to lead the line while elevating teammates with sharp movements and clever link-up plays has become his trademark. Penang coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail has shown faith in the veteran, a belief Kipre is eager to repay. 'It is good with the team and coach Rohaimi. The city is amazing, and the training environment is great. The coach trusts me, and I have no complaints.' Kipre is expected to be one of the four attacking players in the first-eleven for Penang next season, as he forms the striking force with Japanese-Brazilian attacker Bruno Suzuki. On the flanks, the Panthers will have speedsters in the form of Australian Dylan Wenzel-Halls and Bosnian Danilo Sipovac. 'It's about finding the chemistry early and try to achieve that in training,' he said. 'I'm aware not many foreigners stay in this league for so long. But the personal challenge for me is to show people that I can still play and perform in the Super League.' With his trademark calmness in front of goal and relentless drive behind the scenes, don't bet against Kipre making his mark once again.
