Cops bust drug peddling gang; cocaine and ephedrine worth Rs 1 crore seized
Police arrested Gunashekar, a supplier and a constable Tirupati, Unnam Surendra alias Suri, Dothireddy Haribabu Reddy, Chegudi Mercy Margaret, Shaik Masthan Vali, Devaraju YesuBabu, all native of Andhra Pradesh and Appanna, a peddler from Bangalore. The accused were intercepted near Jaya Nagar, Kukatpally, while searching for buyers. Police seized 820 grams of Cocaine mixed with ephedrine worth Rs 1 crore, a digital weighing machine, and five mobile phones from them.
According to police, during the ongoing investigation, it was revealed that the main accused Gunasekhar, a serving Task Force Police constable in AP, had proposed the sale of Ephedrine for profit. Surendra, who was looking for easy money, was attracted to the proposal and along with his associates conspired to sell the drug in Hyderabad where there is high demand.
N Koti Reddy, DCP, Balanagar Zone, said that on May 29, Surendra collected 820 grams of drug Cocaine mixed with Ephedrine from Gunashekar at Tirupati and proceeded to Hyderabad via Guntur. The group assembled at Jaya Nagar, Kukatpally and planned to distribute the contraband. On June 2, while they were moving towards Bhagyanagar, Kukatpally in search of consumers, the patrolling police intercepted them based on suspicious movement and behaviour.
One of the accused attempted to flee but was apprehended. Upon questioning and searching, the team recovered 820 grams of Cocaine-Ephedrine, a digital weighing machine, and mobile phones used in the conspiracy. The seizure was made as per NDPS Act procedures.
Cyberabad Police requested parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information if any suspicious activity is noticed.

Arms seized from ISI-backed gang in Punjab AMRITSAR: Amritsar Police intercepted a cache of arms and ammunition and arrested five persons on Sunday. SSP, Amritsar-rural, Maninder Singh, said police have dismantled a major trans-border smuggling network of sophisticated arms and drug money, operated by Pakistan's ISI-backed handlers. Among the seizures are an AK Saiga rifle with two magazines, two Glock 9mm pistols with four magazines, 100 rounds of ammo, and Rs 7.5 lakh in drug money, apart from a car and three mobile phones, police said. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had direct links to Pakistan-based operatives, said the SSP.

Excise sleuths bust rave party; 9 held with LSD, ganja
Hyderabad: Acting on a tip-off, prohibition and excise sleuths swooped down on the venue of a rave party in Kondapur and nabbed nine people on Saturday night, even before the party could begin. Investigators seized 4 LSD blots, 50 grams of OG ganja, and two kg dry ganja from the place. Excise officials said that the rave party was planned by one of the accused Appikatla Ashok Naidu, who had booked a service apartment for it. The other arrested include Kenger Rahul, Unnati Emmanuel Anil, Sammela Sai Krishna, Nagella Leela Manikanta, Hilton Joseph Rolf, Adapa Yashwant Sridutta, Thota Kumaraswamy and Nandam Sumanth Teja. Two other accused – Srinivas Choudary and Akhil — are at large. All the arrested are from Mangalgiri, Vijayawada, Kakinada and Rajahmundry. Six of the nine are alleged drug consumers. Official said, Rahul allegedly procured the drugs through dark web and later he and Anil supplied it to the rave party organiser Ashok. He works in an IT company and is allegedly a repeat offender. Cops are probing his dark web transactions. "We received intelligence about the party at a service apartment and nabbed them prior to the event. Had we delayed our operation, some women would have joined the accused at the venue for the party, which involved drugs,'' said Pradeep Rao, excise superintendent. Excise officials said that 31-year-old Ashok, who also runs a poultry business and supplies roosters for cockfights during Sankranti, has been under their radar for the last several days. According to them he had been frequently travelling between Mangalagiri and Hyderabad, and staying at the same service apartment when in the city. Several men and women were spotted visiting him there. "Now we are probing Ashok's activities during his previous stay at the same service apartment. We recovered unused condom packets from him,'' Rao said. He added that Ashok tested positive for MDMA when he was made to undergo the drug test. Officials said that the accused have been shifted to the Serilingampally excise police station.

3 killed as gunmen fire at protesters in Pakistans Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province
Peshawar, Jul 27 (PTI) Unknown gunmen fired at a gathering protesting against counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan's northwestern province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, leaving three dead and many injured, a top official said. A day earlier, a mortar strike claimed the life of a girl in the Zakha Khel area of the Khyber District, sparking the Sunday demonstration, during which locals placed the girl's body in front of the Momand Ghuz security checkpoint. Suhail Afridi, the special assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, said three people died and eight were injured in the firing by terrorists on the demonstrators in the Tirah Valley. Following the incident, the grieving families and residents of the area staged a protest by blocking the Tank-South Waziristan Road, and demanded immediate identification and action against those responsible for the killings. Afridi said, 'Following the girl's death on Saturday, locals staged a protest in front of the Frontier Corps compound today. They had gathered near he gates when shots were fired." 'I spoke to district officials who told me that terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij fired at the protesters," he said, using the term designating members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
