Here's Our First Look at "El Sellem Wel Teban" Sequel
The first look at the sequel to the 2001 romance-drama film 'El Sellem Wel Teban' ('The Ladder and The Snake'), has finally been unveiled.
The film stars Amr Youssef, Asmaa Galal, Dhafer L'Abidine, Nicole Saafan, and more.
Tarek Alarian, the film's original director and co-writer, is also returning to helm the sequel.
Alarian is directing the pic from a script written by Ahmed Hosny.
The upcoming film is being touted to be entirely different from the first film, both in terms of visual style and character development.
It reunites Galal and Youssef for the second time after collaborating in 2024's "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya".
The film also witness the fourth collaboration between Alarian and Youssef after the Welad Rizk franchise.
The sequel was announced at the 7th edition of the El Gouna Film Festival in October 2024.
The original film starred Hani Salama, Ahmed Helmy, Hala Shiha, Ragaa Al-Geddawy, Tarek El Tilmisany, and more. Alarian directed the pic from a script he co-wrote with Mohamed Hefzy.
'El Sellem Wel Teban' is centered around Hazem, a reckless young man, who fails at being a good husband and father. His life changes when he meets Yasmin, and they both face issues that force them to fall in love with each other.
The film went through many stages during its preparations, during which Hefzy wrote the script in English.
Al-Aryan was very enthusiastic about the project, which was different from the films available at that time. At one point, Ahmed El Sakka was nominated for the work, but he refused to star in it because he was not convinced by its plot.

"Bridgerton" Star Nicola Coughlan to Lead "I Am" Season 4
Yara Sameh 'I Am,' the BAFTA-winning female-led drama anthology series that has starred the likes of Kate Winslet, Letitia Wright, Lesley Manville and Samantha Morton, has been recommissioned by the U.K.'s Channel 4 for a fourth season. The two-part 'I Am Helen' will this time be led by Nicola Coughlan ('Derry Girls,' 'Bridgerton,' 'Big Mood'), who is set to star opposite Joe Cole ('Gangs of London,' 'A Small Light'). 'I Am' has been created. written, produced and directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Dominic Savage and produced by Emmy-winning Me+You Productions since the first series that debuted in 2019. Savage has always developed the stories in creative collaboration with its leading actors, with the story of 'I Am Helen' developed alongside Coughlan. 'It's an absolute honour to be part of telling the next 'I Am…' story alongside Dominic Savage — a singular talent and a storyteller deeply committed to exploring the breadth of the female experience,' said Coughlan. 'To follow in the footsteps of the brilliant women who've collaborated with him on this series feels truly surreal, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be embarking on this journey.' 'I Am Helen' follows the standout success of three previous 'I Am' series, authentically exploring the personal experiences of women through what is described as 'provocative, emotionally raw storytelling.' In 2023, Winslet led the double BAFTA-winning 'I Am Ruth' to critical acclaim. 'I Am' became Channel 4's most successful new 10 pm drama in six years when it debuted in August 2019, with Vicky McClure starring in 'I Am Nicola.' Morton starred in the BAFTA-nominated 'I Am Kirsty,' and Gemma Chan starred in I Am Hannah. Series two was equally successful, starring Suranne Jones in the BAFTA-nominated 'I Am Victoria,' Wright in 'I Am Danielle,' and Lesley Manville in 'I Am Maria.' 'I Am' is produced by Me+You Productions, Majumdar, and Savage. Executive producer is Richard Yee, with Gemma Boswell, commissioning editor from Channel 4 drama. Fairuz Participates in the Funeral of Her Son Ziad Rahbani
Amir Hagag The star Fairuz participated in the funeral of her son Ziad Rahbani at the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady in Bikfaya. His sister Rima appeared beside her. The funeral procession set off down Hamra Street amid applause from his fans and followers, who accompanied him on both sides, throwing flowers, and ululating. Thousands of fans and admirers of the late musician Ziad Rahbani gathered early in the morning in front of Khoury Hospital in the Hamra area of Lebanon to bid him farewell with flowers, hold up his picture, and applaud enthusiastically in front of the hospital. Charli XCX, Husband George Daniel Share Wedding Photos
Yara Sameh Charli XCX has unveiled a slew of photos from her wedding with George Daniel of The 1975. The "Brat" star took to Instagram to share pictures from the July 19 ceremony, an intimate event attended by the couple's close friends and family at Hackney Town Hall in London. 'Did something,' Charli captioned the glimpse into the day she married George, adding the millennial-preferred version of a heart emoji to her post on Instagram: <3. Emoticon preference aside, the photos capture the newlyweds' in-love vibes amid their celebration of saying 'I do' last weekend. The first photo on the slideshow captures Charli's bridal look — made up of a Vivienne Westwood dress, a white bouquet and a pair of her signature sunglasses. Though he wasn't seen in pictures from the couple's London wedding ceremony, 1975 frontman Matty Healy hyped Charli's set during the Manchester group's career-spanning gig at Glasto, a performance that left him overcome with emotion.
