NASCAR Truck Series Driver Kaden Honeycutt Shows True Character After Being Released
NASCAR Truck Series Driver Kaden Honeycutt Shows True Character After Being Released originally appeared on The Spun. It's not too often that you see a driver sitting at sixth in the championship standings get released by his team but that was the case for NASCAR Truck Series wheelman Kaden Honeycutt on Monday. According to Niece Motorsports, the team saw fit to drop the 22-year-old Texas native after he signed a deal to race with rival OEM next season. And instead of waiting it out, the company ultimately decided that it was best to part ways immediately. Despite the kind of ugly separation, Honeycutt took the high road in a statement released across his social media accounts — which was very much celebrated by his fans. "I would like to thank Niece Motorsports, specifically Al Niece, Cody Efaw and Phil Gould, as well as Josh Morris with DQS and Jason Wilson with Precision Vehicle Logistics, for the opportunity to drive the No. 45 Chevrolet in 2025," Honeycutt said. "My plan is to continue to contend for race wins and position myself to make the playoffs this season," he added. "I look forward to sharing my plans for the remainder of 2025 and beyond in the near future." "LETS GO MAN!! They don't know what they lost," a user said. "Way better things ahead of us. Excited for what's next," another commented. "You deserved better than that s—tshow of a team, Hope you kick ass wherever you land next," a fan replied. "You don't deserve that dude. You gonna kick as wherever you go next," another person posted. "Classy statement from @KadenWHoneycutt. Much classier than I would have been if I was in his shoes," another user admitted. "Classy statement by Kaden. The last 24 hours have certainly been an ordeal." "they really cut him without at least waiting until the end of the season, Niece is cooked bro," another fan shared. "I feel so bad for you, such a brutal past 12 hours. Keep your head up and keep pushing forward you are one hell of a wheelman!" an account exclaimed. It's a pretty tough way for Niece to do business but it won't be long before Kaden lands back on his feet. Connor Zilisch will reportedly pilot the No. 45 Silverado at Watkins Glen with Bayley Currey serving as the team's driver for the remainder of the season beginning with next Friday's race at Truck Series Driver Kaden Honeycutt Shows True Character After Being Released first appeared on The Spun on Aug 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

Steelers connected to former Aaron Rodgers teammate in trade with Packers
Steelers connected to former Aaron Rodgers teammate in trade with Packers originally appeared on The Sporting News The Pittsburgh Steelers have been connected to a trade with the Green Bay Packers involving a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers. Newsweek's Evan Massey lists the Steelers as a potential landing spot for Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs. Doubs could be the odd man out [in the Packers' wide receiver room]. In a contract year, Green Bay could choose to ship him off to a wide receiver-needy team for draft capital," Massey wrote. The Steelers could use another capable player in the wide receiver room, as the team lacks starting-caliber options outside of DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin, who primarily operates in the slot. Doubs is entering the final year of his deal in 2025, and the Packers receiver group is loaded with young talent, so the 25-year-old could become expendable. Despite playing in just 13 games last year, Doubs nearly posted a career year with 46 receptions for 601 yards and four touchdowns. In 2023, the Nevada product played all 17 games and snagged 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. During his rookie campaign in 2022 with Rodgers, Doubs was able to post 425 yards and three touchdowns. The former fourth-round pick already has chemistry with the Steelers starting quarterback and shouldn't cost too much to acquire in a deal with Green Bay, making him a logical trade target. Signing Doubs to an extension also shouldn't be too expensive, even if he has a solid 2025 campaign. Pittsburgh needs to bolster the talent in the receiver room, and trading for Doubs is a realistic and savvy answer. The Steelers will kick off the preseason at EverBank Stadium versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. We'll see how the receivers perform in that game, which should signal whether Pittsburgh needs to make a move or stay put with what they have. MORE PITTSBURGH STEELERS NEWS Stephen A.
