Cops on hunt for underwear thief in George Town

GEORGE TOWN : Police are on the hunt for a man suspected of stealing women's underwear left to dry on the balcony of an apartment near Jalan Dr Wu Lien Teh here last Friday.
Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the 64-year-old homeowner lodged a report at 10am over the incident which took place at about 4.25am the same day.
'Police received a viral video of the incident today and can confirm receiving a report. An investigation is ongoing under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,' he said in a statement.
A 34-second viral video showed a man stealing women's underwear from the balcony of an apartment.

GEORGE TOWN: A chaotic road rampage left six people injured after a driver in a Proton X70 collided with four vehicles at multiple locations in George Town. The incident occurred along Jalan Perak and the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway last night, leaving a trail of destruction. Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad confirmed that the 50-year-old driver first rear-ended a Perodua Myvi at a traffic light junction on Jalan Perak. 'The man then continued driving and hit two motorcycles, a Honda Vario and a Honda C100 at separate locations on Jalan Perak, before rear-ending a Honda City on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway,' he said. The driver of the Myvi sustained minor injuries, while the Proton X70 driver and five others suffered serious harm. Among the injured were a 56-year-old rider and a 15-year-old pillion passenger of the Honda C100, a 29-year-old Honda Vario rider, and a 29-year-old Honda City driver. All victims are locals and are currently receiving treatment at Penang Hospital. Authorities are investigating the case under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987. - Bernama

Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Usuf Jan Mohamad, who confirmed the investigation, said police were also studying CCTV footage of the victim's residence. Usuf had confirmed yesterday that a home belonging to Mahathir's grandchild had been broken into and jewellery worth RM1.8 million had been stolen. The break-in was discovered by a domestic helper at 3pm after she found that the padlock on the back gate had been cut.

GEORGE TOWN, July 26 (Bernama) -- A driver on rampage collided with four vehicles before he himself was hospitalised along with five others after leaving a trail of four vehicles smashed which he ploughed into with a Proton X70. Five people were seriously injured, with one slightly hurt, in the road rampage which hit four vehicles at three locations along Jalan Perak and the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway here last night. Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said in the 8.30 pm incident, the Proton X70 driven by the 50-year-old man hit the back of a Perodua Myvi driven by a 44-year-old woman at the Jalan Perak traffic light junction.
