2025 offseason roster profile: T Christian Jones
We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is tackle Christian Jones.
2024 Christian Jones stats, season
Jones was a rookie in 2024, drafted in the fifth round out of Texas.
He began the season on injured reserve, missing the first seven games with an ankle injury.
After he was activated, he was inactive as a healthy scratch for the next eight games. He was active for the final two games and started at right tackle in the season finale after tackles Paris Johnson, Jonah Williams and Jackson Barton finished the year on injured reserve.
He played 74 offensive snaps on the season. He was penalized twice but both were either declined or offsetting. He did not allow a sack or a pressure in his limited playing time.
2025 contract status
Jones enters the second year of his rookie contract. He will earn $960,000 in salary and count $1.04 million against the salary cap.
Outlook for 2025
Jones, depending on what happens in free agency and the draft, could be in line to be the Cardinals' backup swing tackle in 2025.
Is he a lock to make the team? Probably not, but if the Cardinals do not re-sign Kelvin Beachum or sign another veteran tackle, we can probably view that as Jones being a possible favorite to make the roster.

2025 NFL Odds: How Will Travis Hunter Perform As 2-Way Player?
Can Travis Hunter really play both sides of the ball in the NFL ? Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback in college, was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars after one year at Jackson State and two seasons at Colorado. And on Wednesday, Jags head coach Liam Cohen said that the team plans to have him practice at both positions. "You want to give him a couple days offense, a couple days defense, and then give him an opportunity to go flip-flop within the same practice and then that will kind of become the norm," Coen said. "Every moment, every minute that he is in the building, it is accounted for and trying to make sure that we maximize his time and our time so that we can ultimately get the best outcome." If Hunter were to play offense and defense, how would he perform? Let's check out the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of July 24. Travis Hunter to record 1000+ regular-season receiving yards: +230 (bet $10 to win $33 total) Travis Hunter to record 75+ regular-season receptions & record 2+ regular-season interceptions: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total) Travis Hunter to score 10+ touchdowns (combined offensive and defensive touchdowns: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total) Travis Hunter to record 5+ regular-season offensive touchdowns & 1+ regular-season defensive: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total) Travis Hunter to score 1+ touchdown & record 1+ interception in season debut: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total) Travis Hunter to record 750+ regular-season yards & record 5+ regular-season interceptions: +1700 (bet $10 to win $180 total) Although Hunter has yet to take an NFL snap, he played a remarkable 2,625 snaps and became the most decorated player in Colorado football history. During his time with the Buffaloes, he recorded 171 receptions for 2,167 yards and 24 touchdowns. Defensively, Hunter was equally impressive. He logged 87 tackles (including 63 solo and three for a loss), along with nine interceptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, he had 26 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Hunter's milestones earned him numerous awards, including the Heisman Trophy, AP College Football Player of the Year, Walter Camp Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, Fred Biletnikoff Award and Lott Trophy, and he was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Jaguars drafting Travis Hunter listed among top NFL offseason moves by ESPN
The Jaguars decision to trade up and draft Travis Hunter was listed among the top offseason moves made around the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars' trading up and drafting Travis Hunter with the second overall pick was named one of the top offseason moves by ESPN. Matt Bowen recently compiled his list of the 50 best offseason signings, trades, and draft picks. Coming in at No. 12 on his list was the Jaguars' selection of Hunter. "The reigning Heisman Trophy winner has a rare skill set to impact both sides of the ball," wrote Bowen. "Hunter's 15 touchdown catches and 23 receptions of 20 or more yards both tied for second in the nation last season, plus he had nine interceptions over his entire college career." The Jaguars are preparing Hunter to play both ways at the NFL level as well. The majority of his playing time during OTAs and minicamp came on offense, with Liam Coen telling The Athletic recently that wideout is where he "needs the most development." The next step for Hunter in his progression will be playing on both offense and defense consistently within the same practices. For the first six or so training camp practices, according to Coen, we will continue to see Hunter on either offense or defense, but after that point, playing on both sides on the same day will become his new norm. The caveat to all of this, however, is that Jacksonville will remain very fluid with Hunter's schedule, having already made adjustments coming off offseason programs. Whether it be at wide receiver or cornerback, Hunter brings impressive ball skills to this Jaguars' team. On offense specifically, he gives Liam Coen added flexibility when it comes to building out his game plans, not to mention that Hunter's presence can help take some of the attention off Brian Thomas Jr.

Von Miller says signing with Commanders was 'intentional'
#Commanders OLB Von Miller:'The Washington Redskins called me a month and a half ago and started talking, signed and agreed to come here to Washington about a week and a day ago and here I am.' The Washington Commanders have been tweaking their roster all offseason. The latest big name to join the ranks of the burgundy and gold is linebacker Von Miller. Miller brings over a decade of NFL experience to a defense that struggled in 2024. Miller spoke about why he signed with the Commanders at training camp on Thursday. 'I guess I'll start, I'm excited to be here, 15th year in the league," he said. "It never gets old, especially being out of work for four months, perspective kind of changes a little bit. Back when you were young, you was like, 'Man, why we gotta go to OTAs, man? I wish I was home, man.' And you sit on the couch for four months, and it's like, 'Man, I wish I was in OTAs, man.' It's good dropping the kids off, and it's good picking the kids up from school, but I want to go to work [laughs], I want to go to work." Miller started his career with the Denver Broncos in 2011, when they selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He played 10 seasons in Denver before he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. He was part of the Rams' Super Bowl LVI victory before hitting the free agency market in 2022. He wasn't on the market for long before signing with the Buffalo Bills, where he remained through 2024. An aging veteran, Miller was released ahead of free agency in 2025. He was more than ready to return to the game he loves, but only for the right team. 'It was extremely intentional coming here," he said. "You just can't leave [Buffalo Bills QB] Josh Allen and go anywhere, man. You just can't go from the AFC championship and just go anywhere. And whenever you get older too, losses, they pile up. It seems like they just hit way harder than what they used to when you were young. And this team is all about winning, I'm all about winning. Whatever it takes to win, I'm going to do. That's on and off the football field." The Commanders put the NFL on notice last season with the way they came out of the gate and never slowed down. They gave the organization its best season in over 30 years and made it to the NFC Championship. The best way to improve on that is to make it to the Super Bowl this season, and Miller is all-in on winning. "This team is all about winning, I'm all about winning, and it was a good marriage.' The Commanders will have plenty of rotations with their edge rushers, but when Miller is on the field, you can expect him to make an impact this season.
