Actor Gary Busey pleads guilty to groping woman

Gary Busey has pleaded guilty to groping a woman at a New Jersey horror film convention.
The 81-year-old actor admitted that he deliberately touched a woman inappropriately whilst posing with fans as he pleaded guilty to criminal sexual misconduct at a virtual court appearance on Thursday.
The incident occurred at the Monster-Mania Con in August 2022 as Busey was accused of groping several women who filed reports with the police.
The star was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempting criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree and one disorderly count of harassment.
Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will drop the remaining charges against Busey who faces between one to five years of probation and fines.
He has also agreed not to contact the victim.
Busey, who appeared distracted during the hearing and was scolded by judge Gwendolyn Blue for drinking from a soft drink can, will be sentenced on September 18.
The actor's guilty plea comes after he initially claimed the woman had made up her accusation.
Busey told TMZ in 2022: "None of that happened.
"There were a partner, a camera lady, and me and two girls. It took less than 10 seconds, and then they left. Then, they made up this story that I assaulted them sexually - but I did not."
It is not the first time that the Oscar-nominated actor has fallen foul of the law as he faced drug charges in 1995 following a near-fatal cocaine overdose.
The star - who suffered permanent brain damage in a 1988 motorcycle accident - has previously been arrested on charges of spousal abuse and was also accused of sexual assault by a female employee when he took part in Celebrity Apprentice in 2011.
Busey's son Luke previously recalled how the motorcycle accident completely changed his father's personality after he underwent brain surgery to recover from his serious injuries.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "At 17, I had to teach him with my mom to talk, to eat, to feed himself. To walk again. To write. That was very difficult for me at that age. The post-accident version of him turned his personality up to 11. I feel like I lost my dad on December 4, 1988."

Controversial social media personality Lil Tay makes over $1 million in three hours after joining OnlyFans on her 18th birthday

Controversial internet personality Lil Tay claims she made more than $1 million within three hours of launching an OnlyFans account on her 18th birthday. The social media star announced the launch of her OnlyFans page at 12.01am on July 29, as soon as she turned 18, calling herself the 'youngest girl on OnlyFans' in the account link. On Sunday, she shared a screenshot of her earnings with her 5.8 million Instagram followers, claiming she had broken the platform's record. '$1M in 3 hours. We broke the f*** out of that onlyfans record,' she wrote. 'For all the grown haters who've been hating since I was nine years old, look at me now. What y'all got to say? Y'all been doubting me for seven years. You can hate me all you want — you can't say Lil Tay ain't winning,' she said in a video. Loading Instagram Post She went on to encourage others to live life on their own terms. 'So for everybody out there, do whatever the h*ll you want with your life, who gives a f*** what people have to say?' 'And remember this: Lil Tay Rich and finna get richer.' According to Tay's post, more than $511,000 came from subscriptions, while $486,558 was earned through private messages. Lil Tay first rose to fame at just nine years old, posting videos of herself rapping. The explicit content of her lyrics ranges from bragging about selling drugs, to getting in fights and driving $200,000 cars without a licence. In August 2023, Tay became the subject of a viral death hoax after her Instagram account was reportedly hacked. Loading Instagram Post A statement falsely claimed that the then-14-year-old had died 'suddenly and tragically,' along with her older half-brother, Jason Tian. 'It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire's sudden and tragic passing,' the statement read. 'We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock.' A day later, Tay clarified both were alive. 'I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I'm completely heartbroken and struggling to even find the right words to say,' she told TMZ. 'My Instagram account was compromised by a third party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumours regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. 'My legal name is Tay Tian, not 'Claire Hope'.' That 'fake' post was later deleted.

Dolly Parton named Guinness World Records icon

US country star Dolly Parton has been named a Guinness World Records icon for holding 11 record-breaking titles. As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, the company - which lists world record achievements - has honoured the Jolene singer, 79, with an Icon certificate, presented to her at her studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Her record titles include most consecutive decades with top 10 album entries on the Billboard country chart, most studio albums released by a female country singer, and most Grammy nominations for a female country artist. She was also the first country singer to be nominated for the EGOT - an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony - aka the "Grand Slam of showbusiness". Craig Glenday, editor in chief at Guinness World Records, said: "Dolly is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated writers and performers in the history of country music, as reflected in her many Guinness World Records certificates, but her reach and influence extends far beyond the musical world. "There are so many projects close to her heart - poverty relief, education, medical research and of course the Imagination Library free-books campaign - and it's these important, life-changing initiatives that propels Dolly into a different league. She truly is a living legend, and it's an honour to bestow GWR Icon status upon her." Guinness World Records published its first book in London in 1955 and has sold more than 143 million copies in over 100 countries since then. The Icon certificate has previously been awarded to stars including Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Drake, Sir Paul McCartney, and Sir Elton John. Parton, who is from Tennessee, released her debut album, Hello, I'm Dolly in 1967 and had a run of hits in the 1970s. By the 1980s she was a huge star and made her movie debut in screwball comedy 9 To 5. Her most recent album was Rockstar, released in 2023, and she recently featured in a version of Sabrina Carpenter's Please Please Please. She is also the co-owner of the Dollywood Company, which operates Dollywood, a theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Halsey was 'picky' before making movie debut in Americana

Halsey was "cautiously picky" before deciding to make her major movie debut in Americana. The 30-year-old star features in Tony Tost's modern Western and explained that she "really connected" with the project, which is finally hitting cinemas later this month after being filmed in 2022. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the movie's LA premiere on Sunday (03.08.25), Halsey said: "I'd been waiting a really long time, I'd been really cautiously picky about what I was going to do for my first project for getting into this world, into this space. "Tony reached out and he was so personable and so talented and I just really connected with the script and the character. Little did I know we were going to be making it during Covid, which was a crazy experience." The Bad at Love singer - who has son Ender, four, with her ex-partner Alev Aydin - added: "And from the moment I read the script until we started shooting. I got pregnant, had a whole pregnancy, gave birth to my son, had my son on set with me, and without giving anything away, it's really serendipitous to (her character) Mandy's arc in the film." Halsey stars in the movie alongside Sydney Sweeney - who had previously appeared in the music video for her 2019 song Graveyard - and was grateful to the Echo Valley actress for answering her "stupid questions" on set. She recalled: "We were actually hanging out a bunch during Covid, so when I got the call she was doing the movie we had like just gone hiking a few days before, so it was like, 'Oh cool, I'll see you there.' "It was just really great to have someone to learn from, to ask questions to - the stupid questions you don't think of. It was my first time on a movie set in a real way; just being like, 'Who do I look at? Who do I listen to? What's the cool code words I don't know, the actor lingo?' So having someone to ask the stupid questions to was great." Halsey - whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane - has revealed that she is developing the new Amazon series Bloodlust, although she is thankful that she will not be acting in the dark comedy. She explained: "I started the pilot a few years ago and Amazon wanted it and they took it and now we're getting it on the road. There's not so much that I can say but it's really cool to be part of a project that I don't face. It's quite relieving." Halsey added: "(I'm) just behind the scenes, just the puppet master. "I don't have to do my makeup."
