Haas driver Oliver Bearman shares the only sad thing about Brad Pitt's F1 movie, wants to play the lead in its sequel
Haas driver Oliver Bearman was one of the many Formula 1 drivers who walked the red carpet at the premiere of Brad Pitt's upcoming movie, F1. However, unlike most of his F1 colleagues, he doesn't have a cameo in the film since he wasn't a F1 driver then.

He has now expressed his desire to play the main character in a potential sequel — if one is ever made.
Ollie Bearman on not featuring in Brad Pitt's F1
Ollie Bearman looked dapper in an ice blue blazer, white shirt, and cream pants at the F1 premiere. He was accompanied by his girlfriend, Alicia Stent-Torriani, who looked stunning in a black outfit.
When the Haas driver was asked by a reporter if he would like to star in the film's sequel, Bearman replied: 'Yeah, I mean the only sad thing about that film is that I am not in it at all because I was not in F1 when it was filmed.
So hopefully there's F1 2 and hopefully I can be the main character.'
The video was shared on Formula 1's official X page. Reacting to it, an F1 fan wrote, 'Keep pushing, Ollie.' Another said, 'Can't wait to see you on the big screen soon.' One more commented, 'Excited for what's next.'
F1 stars Brad Pitt as a retired Formula One driver who is brought back by an old friend to mentor a rookie, played by Damson Idris. The film has been directed by Joseph Kosinski and is set to hit theatres on June 27.
It has been co-produced by Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton and features several current F1 drivers in guest appearances. The film was shot using real F1 cars and on actual race tracks.
Oliver Bearman reviews F1 movie
Bearman also attended the film's first premiere in Monaco, where the entire F1 fraternity watched the movie together. Speaking to Motorsport.com at the Monaco premiere, the Haas driver pointed out a few moments he found amusing in the film.

He said, 'There are some things that aren't fully accurate… like the standard movie scene where they're going side by side in the straights and suddenly the other guy finds another gear.
But that's a typical movie thing, and I think it makes it super captivating for the audience. There's a small minority of us that will maybe find that a bit untrue, but I think for the majority it's going to be a fantastic movie.'

Bearman served as a reserve driver for Haas and Ferrari last year and made his debut as a full-time driver for Haas this year. He is currently 17th in the 2025 Formula 1 Driver Standings with 6 points.

Lando Norris closes in on Oscar Piastri in F1 standings, just one strong race away from overtaking McLaren teammate
Image credit: Lando Norris/Instagram McLaren is undoubtedly the fastest car this season, and its two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, are among the fastest on the grid. The inter-team competition seems to be heating up now, with Norris closing the gap with Piastri in the Formula 1 Driver Standings, one race at a time. Piastri has won five races so far and is leading the championship, but Norris is now not far behind after registering his third win of the year on Sunday at the Austrian Grand Prix. Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri locked in their own battle for F1 World Championship Oscar Piastri has five wins under his belt and is on top of the F1 Driver Standings with 216 points. Lando Norris is now catching up fast and is just 15 points behind him, at 201 points after the race in Austria. The two were 22 points apart before arriving in Austria, and with the gap getting shorter, it wouldn't be a surprise if Norris beats Piastri in the next race — the British Grand Prix, Norris' home race. Sunday's race seemed more like an intra-team battle, with Norris and Piastri going almost wheel-to-wheel at the front. Piastri did have his chance at beating Norris, but Franco Colapinto's move in the final phase of the race forced Piastri off onto the grass, costing him some crucial seconds. Needless to say, Piastri looked visibly upset at losing his chance to register a sixth win. Commenting on their intra-team rivalry on the track, McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella said, "We trust and rely on Oscar and Lando. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo It was clear to us that the guys needed to have the opportunity to win the race, as long as they did it like they did today. After the race on Sunday, he said, 'It was a tough race, pushing the whole way through — tricky and tiring. A 1-2 is exactly what we wanted, and we did it, so I'm happy. We had a great battle. It was a lot of sun — a lot of stress but a lot of fun. A nice battle, so well done to Oscar. Inside the car it was tough, especially when he was in the DRS. Same drug, different packaging: Hansal Mehta, KJo review Brad Pitt's F1
Brad Pitt's new racing film 'F1' has hit theatres, and Indian filmmakers Karan Johar and Hansal Mehta have shared their reviews. While both agreed that the movie follows a familiar formula, they also praised it for being entertaining, exciting, and packed with thrilling race Johar posted a review on Instagram calling it a fun watch despite being predictable. He wrote, 'Familiar Tropes, predictable beats, one-liners you see coming a mile away and Yet. SO MUCH FUN! You can't stop yourself from reaching the edge of your seat or gasping out loud (sic).'advertisementHe added, 'Brad Pitt seems to have approached the role with a self-reflecting Zen mode movie star swag! So effective and landed every beat!' Though he found the climax a bit weak, he ended by saying, 'Mildly underwhelmed with the climatic beat BUT don't miss this adrenaline race and rush (sic).' Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta shared his thoughts on the film on X, saying, 'F1 applies every familiar screenwriting trope from the underdog sportsperson playbook: the tormented past, the fractured team, the old-vs-young dynamic, and the predictable trajectory from rock bottom to redemption.'He added, 'And yet, despite all that, it works - at least in parts. The racing sequences are thrillingly constructed. The film treats its beautifully ageing lead with near-reverence and rightly so.'My thoughts on F1F1 applies every familiar screenwriting trope from the underdog sportsperson playbook: the tormented past, the fractured team, the old-vs-young dynamic, and the predictable trajectory from rock bottom to redemption. A waste really.'He summed it up by saying, 'The crowd wanted the hit and the film delivered. Same drug, different packaging but the high still lands.'Directed by 'Top Gun: Maverick' filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, 'F1' stars Brad Pitt as a retired racing legend making a comeback.
