Kings Emerge as Potential Destination For Former Knicks Guard: Report
The Sacramento Kings entered the NBA offseason looking to upgrade their roster and bounce back after missing the playoffs once again last season.

With their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray and Zach LaVine returning for next season, Sacramento feels as though they will be able to compete for a playoff spot next season.

Of course, the main area of need for the Kings entering the offseason was at the point guard position after they traded away star guard De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline last season.
Sacramento was able to find their new stating point guard in free agency as they acquired Dennis Schroder from the Detroit Pistons via a sign-and-trade deal.

While Schroder's addition to the roster is a major one for the Kings, they still lack depth at the point guard position outside of him and Devin Carter, who is running point for them during the Summer League.

Because of this, the Kings could still look to add another point guard this offseason either through free agency or via trade and they have recently emerged as a potential landing spot for a former New York Knicks point guard.
According to Kings play-by-play announcer Kyle Draper, Cameron Payne has interest in joining Sacramento in free agency this offseason.
'His representatives are trying to angle him to Sac,' Draper said about Payne.
Payne would be a solid addition to the Kings' bench, especially after he played a large role off the bench for the Knicks last season.
Last season, the 30-year-old guard averaged 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 40.1% from the field and 36.3% from three in 72 games in New York.

Payne is a solid scorer and playmaker who would be able to bring a spark off the bench for the Kings, which they desperately need at the point guard position entering next season.
