U.S. President Donald Trump's company is set to open a new golf course in Scotland, in addition to the two he already has there.
Trump International Scotland announced that the new course, which will be built in Aberdeenshire, would contain the "greatest 36 holes in golf" and would open in August.
Newsweek contacted Trump International Scotland for an update on the course's progress via email.
The Context
Trump International Scotland already manages two golf resorts in Scotland, one in Aberdeen and one in Turnberry. He has visited them before as president, and any visit now would require a heavy security force in order to ensure the trip is safe. The Scottish police have said they are prepared for a potential visit in the coming months.

What To Know
Trump's third course in Scotland, which is named the New Course, is described by The Trump Organization as "an exceptional golfing experience," featuring the world's largest natural bunker, mountainous sand dunes and infinity greens hugging the coastal ridge.
The course, designed to complement the existing championship links, claims to have panoramic views over hundreds of acres of Scottish coastline.
This week, British media reported that Trump is expected to visit the course this month, with the BBC and the Daily Mail saying that preparations for a trip to Scotland, similar to the one Trump made in 2018, were underway.
However, a spokesperson for Trump International Scotland told Newsweek that no presidential trips had been confirmed.
"The New Course will open to the public in August and there are two professional tournaments scheduled to be played over the Old Course, one in late July and one in August," the spokesperson said.
"The new course looks stunning and will form with the Old Course what is being described as the Greatest 36 holes in Golf."
What People Are Saying
Scottish Police Assistant Chief Constable Emma Bond: "Planning is under way for a potential visit to Scotland later this month. While official confirmation has not yet been made, it is important that we prepare in advance for what would be a significant policing operation."
Trump International Scotland, in a statement on its website: "Featuring the world's largest natural bunker, mountainous sand dunes, and infinity greens hugging the coastal dune ridge, this course is meticulously designed to complement our acclaimed existing championship links course, which has received worldwide acclaim and is ranked among the 'Top 100 Courses in the World' by Golf Digest.
"We are thrilled to unveil this extraordinary addition to the Trump Golf portfolio and look forward to our members experiencing this exceptional test of golf along the northeast coast of Scotland in the 'Home of Golf'."
What Happens Next
The New Course is expected to open to the public in August.

Ex-Epstein lawyer calls for release of additional Epstein materials

By Sarah N. Lynch WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of Jeffrey Epstein's former attorneys on Sunday called on the U.S. Justice Department to release additional investigative records from its sex-trafficking investigation, and urged the government to grant Epstein's former girlfriend immunity so that she can testify about his crimes. In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Alan Dershowitz said the grand jury transcripts that Attorney General Pam Bondi on Friday asked a federal judge to unseal would not contain the types of information being sought by President Donald Trump's supporters, such as the names of Epstein's clientele. "I think the judge should release it, but they are not in the grand jury transcripts," Dershowitz said on Fox. "I've seen some of these materials. For example, there is an FBI report of interviews with alleged victims in which at least one of the victims names very important people," he said, adding that those names have been redacted. President Donald Trump has been under mounting pressure from his supporters to release additional information related to the government's sex-trafficking probe into Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial. Earlier this year, Bondi promised that the department would release additional materials including "a lot of names" and "a lot of flight logs." The department back-tracked on that promise earlier this month, after releasing a joint memo with the FBI which poured cold water on long-running conspiracy theories about Epstein by saying there was "no incriminating client list" or any evidence of blackmail. The memo also backed a prior FBI investigation which concluded that Epstein died by suicide and was not murdered in his jail cell. Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel have faced a growing backlash by Trump's supporters since the memo was issued, prompting Trump last week to order the department to ask a court to unseal grand jury transcripts from the Epstein case. The U.S. government on Friday filed a motion in a Manhattan federal court to unseal grand jury transcripts in the cases of Epstein and former associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of five federal charges related to her role in Epstein's sexual abuse of underage girls. Maxwell is appealing her conviction and 20-year prison sentence to the U.S. Supreme Court. The release of the grand jury documents may fall short of what many of Trump's supporters have sought, including case files held by the administration, and a judge may reject the administration's request to make the transcripts public. Dershowitz on Sunday told "Fox News Sunday" that the information that Bondi did not request to be unsealed would be "far more informative and far more relevant." He added that the government should also grant Maxwell immunity so that she could testify before Congress about what knowledge she has of Epstein's alleged crimes. "She knows everything. She is the Rosetta Stone," he said of Maxwell. "If she were just given use immunity, she could be compelled to testify."

Lefty Rep. Jasmine Crockett dubs Trump a ‘wannabe Hitler' over Epstein files row

Outspoken Rep. Jasmine Crockett dubbed President Trump a 'wannabe Hitler,' comparing him to the genocidal Nazi leader while chastising Republicans for displaying fealty to him. Crockett (D-Texas), who has a penchant for incendiary rhetoric, hurled the explosive insult against Trump while assessing how Republicans have been navigating the renewed drama over notorious sex predator Jeffrey Epstein. 'I absolutely think that they are gonna run away with this as quickly as possible,' Crockett told MSNBC's 'Alex Witt Reports' on Saturday when asked if Republicans will hold a vote to release grand jury files on Epstein. 'They want to show that they're loyal to this, you know, I don't even know what to call him. I've called him so many things, but this wannabe Hitler for sure. They want to pledge their loyalty to him, and they know that he does not want this released.' Trump and Republicans have been consumed by an Epstein firestorm after a memo from the Justice Department and FBI concluded the evidence indicates the deceased pedophile most likely didn't have a client list and killed himself in prison. 3 Rep. Jasmine Crockett compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler in a stunning attack. 3 The Texas Democrat predicted that Republicans will show fealty to President Trump even through the Jeffrey Epstein drama. That conclusion drew fury from the MAGA base, which promptly demanded more transparency from the Trump administration. Trump had seethed at the demands and at one point, lashed out at the faction of his base as 'weaklings' and 'past supporters' who 'bought into this 'bulls—,' hook, line, and sinker.' Democrats quickly seized on the internecine battle within the GOP and introduced legislation to force the release of the Epstein files, drawing some Republican defections. On Thursday morning, Trump declared that he is seeking the release of the grand jury testimony on Epstein — a step US Attorney General Pam Bondi quickly took. Trump later groused Saturday that 'nothing will be good enough for the troublemakers and radical left lunatics making the request.' Crockett surmised that Republicans will be careful about breaking ranks with Trump on the Epstein debacle due to fears it could damage the brand. 'I think they also are concerned about the damage that it may do,' she said. 'If he's trying to hide it, they understand that it is most likely problematic for him as well as the MAGA brand, as well as the Republicans.' 'So, I don't anticipate that they will be on board for doing anything that may harm them or their fearless leader.' 3 President Trump has previously bashed Rep. Jasmine Crockett's intelligence. Getty Images All of this comes before lawmakers are poised to head home to their districts for the August recess. Some lawmakers, such as Libertarian-leaning Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), have concluded that constituents will likely put pressure on Republicans to push for more transparency on Epstein. Crockett, whose frequent fiery rhetoric against Trump has a knack for going viral, has feuded with him publicly. Last week, Trump called on Crockett and 'Squad' Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to take an IQ test, strongly implying that his intelligence is far superior to hers. 'AOC, look, I think she's very nice. But she's very low-IQ, and we really don't need low-IQ,' Trump told reporters on the White House lawn last Tuesday. 'Between her and Crockett, we're going to give them both an IQ test to see who comes out best.'

Trump touts six-month mark: US is now ‘hottest‘ and ‘most respected country anywhere‘

President Trump marked his six-month anniversary of his second term in office by touting that the United States is the 'hottest' and 'most respected country anywhere in the world.' 'Wow, time flies!' the president began his message on Truth Social on Sunday morning. 'Today is that Sixth Month Anniversary of my Second Term. Importantly, it's being hailed as one of the most consequential periods of any President.' He added that six months was 'not a long time to have totally revived a major Country,' and that one year ago, 'our Country was DEAD, with almost no hope of revival.' 'Today the USA is the 'hottest' and most respected Country anywhere in the World,' he added. 'Happy Anniversary!!!' His comments come as Trump's six-month approval rating remains underwater with Decision Desk HQ finding 52.7 percent of U.S. adults disapprove of the president, while 44.6 percent approve. The latest Economist/YouGov poll also found that Trump's disapproval rating is at its highest level since the start of his second term. Still, Trump insisted his numbers within the GOP 'have gone up, significantly, since the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax was exposed by the Radical Left Democrats and, just plain 'troublemakers.'' 'They have hit 90%, 92%, 93%, and 95%, in various polls, and are all Republican Party records,' he wrote in another Truth Social post. 'The General Election numbers are my highest, EVER! People like Strong Borders, and all of the many other things I have done. GOD BLESS AMERICA. MAGA!' His comments come after he instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday to release the grand jury files in the case of sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein after nationwide pressure to produce more information. However, the president remains skeptical that the release of the files will quell the demand for more information on the case.
