1.8 crore jobs at risk? THESE three sectors likely to get impacted due to AI, new-age technologies, says report

New-age technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) are set to implement a 'seismic' shift in the industries affecting the jobs of more than 1.8 crore people over three key sectors by the year 2030, reported the news agency PTI. Manufacturing, Retail, and Education are the three sectors poised to be impacted by the effects of implementing AI into operations, according to the agency report. Out of the three sectors, the Manufacturing sector is expected to witness the worst hit from the AI transition, with 80 lakh workers set to be affected, followed by the Retail sector with 76 lakh jobs, and the Education sector with 25 lakh jobs affected in the next five years, reported the news agency, citing Servicenow data. High-automation roles like Change managers and Payroll clerk job roles are expected to be redefined by the AI agents, which will take over the routine coordination. However, "high-augmentation" job roles like the Implementation consultants and System admins are working and partnering with AI instead of competing with it. India's largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the end of July 2025, announced that the company will be laying off almost 2% of its workforce, or more than 12,000 employees in the financial year 2025-26. The IT firm will focus the job cuts on the middle and senior management employees as part of its broader strategy to become 'future-ready' and focus on technological investments, AI developments, market expansion, etc. Mint reported earlier that TCS's total workforce stands at 6,13,069 people as of the April-June quarter of the financial year 2025-26. The news agency cited Sumeet Mathur, the managing director for Servicenow India Technology and Business Centre, who said that artificial intelligence is expected to create 30 lakh jobs in new technology by 2030. Artificial intelligence is also reshaping the workforce, and will "redefine" over 1.35 crore roles, said the executive, cited in the agency report. "India has a generational opportunity to lead globally by developing AI-ready talent, redesigning workflows, and reorienting business models around continuous innovation," said Sumeet Mathur. After conducting a more than 500-industry-leader survey on AI adoption, the company noted that 13.5% of tech budgets of the IT company are already pledged towards AI adoption, and one-fourth of the firms in India are already in their transformation phase. With data security as one of their top concerns, the Indian companies are highlighting the urgent need for strategic foresight and structured, cross-functional reskilling pathways in the market.

Fatty liver reversal with apple cider vinegar? What experts reveal about ACV's effect on your body's largest gland

Synopsis Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects a significant portion of the global population, prompting interest in remedies like apple cider vinegar (ACV). While animal studies suggest ACV might reduce liver fat and improve metabolism, human research is limited. Experts recommend ACV as a supplement, not a cure, emphasizing diet, exercise, and medical guidance for managing NAFLD. Fatty liver disease, especially the non-alcoholic kind (NAFLD), is quietly becoming one of the biggest health issues worldwide. According to a TOI report, it affects over 30% of the global population, and in regions like the Americas and Southeast Asia, the figure exceeds 40%. That's worrying. But can something as humble as apple cider vinegar (ACV) help ease the condition? Let's break it Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) happens when fat builds up in your liver, without heavy drinking being the cause. It's often linked to being overweight, diabetic, or having a sluggish metabolism. If not managed early, NAFLD can progress to more serious stages like NASH (inflammation), fibrosis, cirrhosis, or even liver cancer. This has led many to turn to home remedies, ACV being one of the most popular. But does it really help your liver?Apple cider vinegar is made by fermenting apple juice into alcohol, and then into acetic acid, the compound responsible for its sharp taste and supposed health often marketed as a metabolism booster, fat burner, and blood sugar regulator. Some claim it can reduce liver fat and support liver function. But what does science actually say? A 2025 study on rainbow trout with NAFLD, as reported by TOI, found that a 2% ACV mix reduced liver fat (steatosis), triglycerides, and key liver enzymes like ALT and AST. But here's the twist, when the dose was doubled to 4%, the condition set of studies on rodents fed high-fat diets showed similar findings. ACV helped reduce liver fat, improve insulin resistance, and lower glucose levels. In one experiment, liver fat levels dropped from 56% to 20%.Researchers believe acetic acid may promote fat-burning and ease metabolic stress. However, all these results come from animal studies, not research is still limited. A 2021 review, quoted by TOI, suggested ACV could lower cholesterol and fasting blood sugar, both helpful for those with NAFLD. But there's no strong proof yet of a direct impact on liver fat in short: promising, but far from perks May support blood sugar and fat metabolism Could assist in weight loss when used with diet and exercise Might improve some metabolic markers over time But here's the catch Too much ACV can damage tooth enamel, cause low potassium, and upset your stomach It may interact badly with diabetes or blood pressure medications Most experts advise no more than 1–2 tablespoons a day, diluted in water Health professionals, as quoted by TOI, warn against treating ACV as a 'cure'. It's a supplement, not a substitute for actual medical treatment or lifestyle changes. Use raw, unfiltered ACV (look for 'the mother') Dilute properly: Mix 1 tablespoon in a full glass of water Drink after meals to avoid acid reflux Rinse your mouth or use a straw to protect your teeth Watch for side effects like bloating or discomfort Talk to your doctor if you're on any medication While ACV may offer some small benefits for metabolism, it's not a cure-all for fatty liver. The best way to reverse NAFLD is through a balanced diet, regular exercise, and guidance from your healthcare provider. Apple cider vinegar might play a supporting role, but it's definitely not the hero of the story.
