Interview: I-DLE's MINNIE On Being Part Of Skechers' Revamped Flagship Store In Singapore & More

Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company™ and a leader in performance footwear, recently marked the grand reopening of its expanded and revamped flagship store at Bugis Junction, Singapore. Now spanning more than 4,100 square feet, the upgraded space offers a bigger, bolder retail experience, drawing thousands of fans, shoppers, media representatives, and influencers from across Southeast Asia.
Adding to the excitement, MINNIE (민니/มินนี่) of I-DLE (아이들) joined Skechers to officially unveil the store, electrifying the atmosphere with her appearance as fans cheered her on at every moment. We had the chance to catch up with the singer to talk about her special appearance, ongoing solo projects, and the possibility of future collaborations with Skechers.
What was your first reaction when you were invited to be part of this Skechers event in Singapore?
I was honestly so excited! I've always loved Skechers. So to be invited to such a big event in Singapore is truly an honour. It made me feel really special.
You're known for blending comfort and cool styles. How does Skechers fit into your day-to-day wardrobe?
Well, I think Skechers is the perfect fit for a comfortable yet stylish look. Personally, I like wearing something that's fashionable but also really comfortable, especially since I travel a lot and spend a lot of time practising. So I prefer footwear that I can wear all day without any discomfort, and I think Skechers really delivers on both comfort and style. So yes, I really like it.
You wear both sneakers and high heels quite often, but if you had to choose between the two, which do you prefer?
For daily life, definitely sneakers—they're just so comfortable, and I can walk around in them all day.
Speaking of sneakers, what are your fashion tips for styling them well?
I usually like wearing low-waisted baggy jeans with a crop top—it helps make my legs look longer. I'll sometimes add a cool belt to complete the look.
If Skechers were to collaborate with you on a shoe design, what would you personally add to it?
I really like the idea of having charms on shoes, so I think I'd design some cute ones that represent me. Since pink is my favourite colour, I'd probably add some pink accents or decorations throughout the design too.
Your fashion sense is bold yet effortless. Who or what has been inspiring your style lately?
Lately, I wouldn't say there's one specific person who inspires me. I think it really depends on my mood, the weather, or where I'm going. I tend to choose my outfits based on the occasion and how I'm feeling that day.
You're one of the main vocalists for I-DLE and also pursue solo projects. How do you balance your group and solo activities?
Wow, that's a tough one. I always prioritise our group schedules first—those come before anything else. Then, I focus on my solo activities whenever there's time. We usually manage our schedules by putting the group's commitments first, and I work on my own music whenever I have a bit of space.
Lastly, fans loved your role in 'So Not Worth It' back in 2021. It's been a while—would you consider returning to acting?
Oh, definitely yes! If I have the time and the opportunity to act again, I'd absolutely love to.
The grand reopening ceremony also included exclusive fan experiences with MINNIE in a specially designated VIP Fan Zone. Guests were treated to a variety of engaging activities, including a Skechers charms bar where they could personalise their sneakers, as well as a themed photo booth experience.
Skechers' new flagship store at Bugis Junction now joins its iconic outlet at Jewel Changi Airport as a key retail destination in Singapore, further strengthening the brand's presence while offering shoppers a dynamic blend of comfort, style, and innovation.

From Food To Entertainment: What You Need To Host The Ultimate K-pop Viewing Party

There's nothing like having fun with your friends and fellow K-pop fans, fangirling (or fanboying) over your favourite idols – and what better way to do so than with a K-pop viewing party? If you're not familiar, viewing parties are when groups gather together to catch a live event or binge a bunch of movies or shows. With the long weekend approaching, this is your chance to host one. Here's what you need to hold the ultimate K-pop viewing party: Prep All The Delicious Food For Long Hours Of Binging First things first: you'll need food – because how else will you stay fueled to dance, sing and laugh all night long? Of course, for a K-pop party, you'll need Korean food and snacks. Most supermarkets should carry a few Korean snacks and drinks for you to choose from. If you want something heavier, then you have the option of making the classic and ever-reliable instant noodle. If you want a recommendation, try the new Samyang MEP Ramyeon in Black Pepper Beef or Grilled Garlic Shrimp! These noodles provide the perfect balance of heat and flavour, and are available at 7-Eleven stores nationwide! Have A Variety Of Entertainment Options On Hand Concert films are fun and help keep the energy up, but to ensure a well-rounded viewing party, you'll need more options. Besides the usual concert films, include music videos and variety shows as fillers for when you're taking a break from all the singing and dancing. We suggest variety shows from K-pop stars, like 'Run BTS' and 'Going Seventeen'. As for music videos, that's up to you to choose – whether your favourite ones or new releases. Better yet, include lyric videos to turn the viewing party into a karaoke party! Deck The Place – And Yourself – Out In Comfy Yet Stylish Gear To have the best time, you should prioritise comfort – but we're not sacrificing style. Thankfully, you can now find cute yet comfy outfits that allow you to move around easily and still look good for your pictures! As for room decor, why not grab a couple of plushies of your favourite K-pop group's mascots? BT21 has a bunch to choose from and they all look super comfy! You can also use your bias groups' official colours as a base theme to match everything else. With everything set and ready to go, we hope you have a fun and engaging K-pop viewing party! Newlyweds Bezos and Sanchez gear up for final party at Venice gala

Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos and Media Personality Lauren Sanchez Bezos react on the day of their wedding in Venice, Italy, June 27, 2025 in this picture obtained from social media. @laurensanchezbezos via Instagram/via REUTERS VENICE (Reuters) -Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sanchez, flush from their Venice wedding ceremony on Friday, are gearing up for the final day of partying in the lagoon city with scores of celebrity guests from media, fashion and show business. The three-day gala, estimated to cost some $50 million, will culminate on Saturday evening with the closing party in a former medieval shipyard where Lady Gaga and Elton John are expected to perform. Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, exchanged rings on Friday evening on the small island of San Giorgio, across the water from Saint Mark's Square, accompanied by singing from Matteo Bocelli, son of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. The bride at the ceremony wore a high-necked silhouette dress and a tulle and lace veil by Dolce and Gabbana, which she told magazine Vogue was based on Sophia Loren's dress to marry Cary Grant in the 1958 film Houseboat. Sanchez was also wearing a pair of diamond earrings by Dolce & Gabbana, which, according to Vogue, were lent to her in keeping with the tradition that it brings good luck for a bride to wear something borrowed. Bezos, who is No. 4 on Forbes' global billionaires list, donned a black tuxedo and bow tie over a white shirt. The ceremony had no legal status under Italian law, a senior city hall official told Reuters, suggesting the couple may have already legally wed in the United States, avoiding the bureaucracy associated with an Italian marriage. Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady, Jordan's Queen Rania, Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner and Kim and Khloe Kardashian, as well as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and Domenico Dolce from Dolce & Gabbana were among the 200-250 guests. PROTEST SCHEDULED While the celebrities rub shoulders in the isolated halls in the east of the city, not far away activists will be protesting at what they see as Venice being gift-wrapped for ultra-rich outsiders. A protest march is planned at 5 p.m. (1500 GMT) on Saturday from the railway station to the Rialto Bridge. For days, members of the "No Space for Bezos" movement have been trying to spoil the party, hanging anti-Bezos banners on the iconic Rialto Bridge and laying out a huge canvas in central Saint Mark's Square telling the tech-tycoon to pay more taxes. While some residents and activists see Bezos's extravaganza as a symbol of inequality and arrogance, Venice's businesses and the city authorities have welcomed the event, claiming a major boost for the local economy. "Those who protest are in contradiction with the history of Venice, which is a history of relations, contacts and business," the city's mayor Luigi Brugnaro told Reuters in an interview. "Bezos embodies the Venetian mentality, he is more Venetian than the protesters," said centre-right mayor, adding that he hoped Bezos, who donated 3 million euros ($3.51 million) to local institutions, would return to the city to do business. Brugnaro said Bezos had attached no conditions to holding his wedding celebrations in Venice, and City Hall had only learned about his donations after they had already been made. Bezos, Amazon's executive chair, got engaged to Sanchez in 2023, four years after the collapse of his 25-year marriage to MacKenzie Scott.
