According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 1:24 a.m. a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped after being observed traveling 48 mph in a 35 mph zone on White Pole Road. Two to tango: Dancer claims rep was ruined by NYC shrink who accused him of spiking drink

It takes two to tango but apparently just one after-party to ruin a reputation. A suburban Seattle man and tango enthusiast claims a gin-soaked late-night gathering at a California Airbnb with his fellow dance lovers left him shunned when one later accused him of spiking the drinks. Eduard Koller showed up at a small gathering after the March 2023 Southern California Tango Festival with tequila and 'a gin-based cocktail' in hand, according to a lawsuit. The party broke up without incident and Koller, 55, took an Uber back to his hotel along with four of his party guests. Eduard Koller claims he was never alone with his accuser and never spiked anyone's drink. Eduard Koller/Facebook But a year later, Koller claims he was barred from a tango marathon in Massachusetts because the co-organizer believed he'd been 'inappropriate,' he said in Manhattan Supreme Court papers. James Oh allegedly told the Redmond, Wash. man only that he'd received 'multiple credible claims of inappropriate and harmful behaviors by you. And I'm not comfortable letting you be part of any event I'm organizing or co-organizing,' according to the litigation. Nimroody and Koller only met three times, he said in court papers. Tehela Nimroody /Facebook Koller later learned Upper East Side psychologist Tehela Nimroody had accused him of tampering with her beverage during the California after-party, he said in legal papers. The pair were not alone during the party in question and 'did not share any other type of relationship or interactions' aside from meeting at three tango events between 2022 and 2024, Koller claimed. Nimroody allegedly ignored a Facebook message Koller sent seeking to clarify her claim, he noted. Koller is seeking unspecified damages and wants a court order barring Oh and Nimroody from posting any 'defamatory and injurious content' about him. Oh declined comment on the litigation. Nimroody did not respond to messages.

'Sick to my stomach': New York golf course suffers severe damage from vandals

A New York-area golf club is recovering from vandals tearing up some of its fairways and greens. The private club Skenandoa Club, located in Clinton, New York, posted several photos of the severe damage done to the golf course, with tire marks all over. "I'm literally sick to my stomach," says the post written by owner Michael Intartaglia. And you can see why. The damage occurred on the eight green and ninth hole tee, fairway and bunker. One of the golf club's Facebook followers crunched some numbers on what the potential repair bill might look like: Estimated Total Damage Range: The vandals drove a large vehicle sometime late Tuesday/early Wednesday this week. The mostly private course does accept some public play Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday.

Body of Alaska cruise passenger found 1,700 feet below ridge line of intended hike

The body of a Norwegian Cruise Line passenger who went missing in Alaska has been recovered. Marites Buenafe, 62, vanished Tuesday after texting her family that she was going for a hike in Juneau, according to an Alaska State Troopers missing persons bulletin. She was reported missing after not returning to the Norwegian Bliss on time that afternoon. On Thursday, an Alaska Army National Guard helicopter spotted her body roughly 1,700 feet below the ridge line of the area she planned to hike, state troopers shared in an update via Juneau Police. 'Troopers and Juneau Mountain Rescue were able to recover her body with the assistance of Temsco Helicopters and the National Guard,' read the troopers' Facebook post, which thanked the agencies and volunteers involved. Disappearance timeline State troopers said Buenafe texted her family at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, saying she was headed to Mount Roberts Tramway and planned to hike Gold Ridge to Gastineau Peak. Security footage showed her leaving the buildings at the top of Mount Roberts Tramway at about that time. She was supposed to return to the Norwegian Bliss by 1 p.m. that day, for the ship's scheduled 1:30 p.m. departure. A Norwegian spokesperson said multiple attempts were made to contact the guest before the ship departed. CruiseMapper shows the Bliss continuing on its week-long Alaska cruise sailing, which originated in Seattle on June 28. Search and recovery Multiple agencies searched the Gold Ridge area until Buenafe's body was recovered below the ridge line of Gold Ridge at around noon Thursday. 'Her next of kin have been notified, and her body will be sent to the state medical examiner's office for autopsy,' according to Alaska State Troopers. Norwegian told USA TODAY it's assisting local authorities in the investigation. Also, 'Our CARE team is providing support to the guest's family and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.' Contributing: Nathan Diller, USA TODAY
