Kingdom Hearts IV development update reveals new screenshots and confirms continued progress

Express Tribune15-05-2025

Square Enix has provided a fresh development update on Kingdom Hearts IV, accompanied by a new batch of official screenshots posted to the franchise's English and Japanese Kingdom Hearts X accounts on 14 May 2025.
The images feature both cinematic and action elements. While the large header screenshot shows protagonist Sora in battle, the smaller visuals include what appear to be cutscenes, an enemy encounter, and a potentially playable Mickey Mouse — although this could also be an unconventional camera angle.
In a message released alongside the screenshots, the development team wrote, 'We're currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game's development. We're dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations.' A follow-up post added, 'We are equally excited and can't wait to share more about Kingdom Hearts IV when the time is right. Until then, we appreciate your patience.'
Kingdom Hearts IV was originally revealed in April 2022 through a trailer marking the franchise's 20th anniversary. Since then, information has been limited, aside from an exclusive interview with Game Informer two months after the reveal. Directed by series creator Tetsuya Nomura, the title follows Kingdom Hearts III, which released in 2019 and earned widespread critical acclaim.
A release date for Kingdom Hearts IV has yet to be announced.

Miandad recalls his rivalry with Doshi

Cricket has always had its share of fierce battles, but few were laced with as much wit and warmth as the legendary exchanges between ace Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad and former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi who expired in London on Monday. Miandad was overcome with emotions as he paid tribute to his "close friend" Doshi while speaking to recalling with fondness the mischief, banter and friendship that blossomed between the two. "When he used to bowl at the leg-stump, I would start saying 'bow-wow'," Miandad smiled. "When he finally asked what it meant, I told him: 'Only dogs — and you — try to catch my leg!'" It was 1979. Pakistan were touring India, and a young, cheeky Miandad had found the perfect target for his humour in the reserved and erudite Doshi, who was often tasked with curbing the Pakistani batter's scoring. Doshi's response? A mix of frustration and disbelief — enough to prompt complaints to the umpires and even captain Sunil Gavaskar, who, like the rest of the Indian team, couldn't help but laugh. "He was from a very sophisticated, highly educated family — always impeccably dressed, his white kit spotless," Miandad recalled while paying tribute to Doshi. One particular exchange became part of subcontinental cricketing folklore. "I once asked him what room number he was staying in at the hotel. He angrily asked why. I told him, 'I want to hit the ball straight into your room!'" The harmless barbs became a running theme whenever they met on the field — even years later in English county cricket, when Miandad turned out for Glamorgan and Doshi for Northamptonshire. "Even there, I would keep teasing him. But by then, we had become friends," Miandad said. "We met often. He invited me to his house in Kolkata. His wife is also a very kind and decent person." Though the jokes flew thick and fast, Miandad held nothing but respect for Doshi's cricketing prowess. "Doshi Saheb took 114 wickets in 33 Tests — that says everything. He played in an era where scoring was slower; imagine what he could have achieved in today's game where batters take more risks."

Brett Cooper joins Fox News as contributor, bringing Gen Z perspective to network's lineup

Fox News Media has signed conservative podcaster and influencer Brett Cooper as a new contributor. Cooper, known for her sharp commentary on cultural, social, and political issues, will provide her insights across all Fox News platforms. Her debut is scheduled for Wednesday on The Will Cain Show at 4 p.m. ET. Cooper gained popularity with her podcast The Brett Cooper Show, which she launched in January, attracting over nine million followers across her social media platforms. The 23-year-old conservative star, often recognized for her distinctive views, previously hosted The Comments Section, a video podcast that ran from January 2022 to December 2024. She covers topics ranging from current events and pop culture to generational changes and relationships, offering a perspective that resonates with younger audiences. In a 2023 appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime, Cooper discussed the evolving media landscape, noting how young people are increasingly seeking authentic voices rather than traditional pundits. She emphasized that this new generation values genuine, independent content. Cooper's addition to Fox News comes as the network seeks to engage younger viewers, a demographic that has shown less interest in traditional cable news. According to recent Nielsen data, the average Fox News viewer is 69 years old. However, with Cooper's growing influence among Gen Z, the network aims to broaden its appeal. Along with Cooper, Fox News has also brought in other rising conservative stars like Riley Gaines and Lawrence Jones to attract a younger audience. Originally from Washington State, Cooper moved to Los Angeles at 10 to pursue an entertainment career. She studied English literature at UCLA and business at UC Berkeley. Cooper is also starring in The Daily Wire's version of Snow White, currently in production.

Versailles statues now talk to visitors in AI-powered experience

Curious visitors can delve into Versailles' rich history by scanning a QR code next to one of some 20 garden statues -- triggering interactive conversations in French, English, or Visitors to France's famed Palace of Versailles can now strike up a conversation with talking statues instead of listening to a traditional audio guide, as part of a new collaboration with artificial intelligence companies, the palace has said. Versailles late Monday announced a partnership with US-based OpenAI and French start-up Ask Mona to bring a modern AI touch to the iconic 17th-century palace. Curious visitors can delve into Versailles' rich history by scanning a QR code next to one of some 20 garden statues -- triggering interactive conversations in French, English, or Spanish. "The Palace of Versailles is now testing artificial intelligence, whose tremendous capabilities will greatly enrich the visitor experience," said the museum's president, Christophe Leribault. The heritage site welcomes some eight million visitors annually, with OpenAI and Ask Mona saying it was a golden opportunity to showcase their technology in a world-famous location. "Whether you're a heritage expert, a museum curator, or a visitor setting foot in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles for the first time, there's something for everyone," said Julie Lavet, OpenAI's head of European partnerships. And Ask Mona's president said this partnership is a chance to highlight AI's lesser explored applications. "Often, when we think of artificial intelligence, we think of it in terms of productivity, but here, it's really artificial intelligence that is a lever for curiosity," said Marion Carre.
