The 23-year-old came through the youth system at English Premier League side Chelsea.
He joined the London club's under-18s in 2018 from Viktoria Koln in Germany.
After four years at Stamford Bridge during which he never made a senior appearance, Ballo departed on a free transfer for Wolfsberger in 2022, where he has been since.
Speaking on potential incomings after a 2-2 friendly draw with Club Brugge at the weekend, Rangers head coach Russell Martin said: "I expect the team to look different again, the squad to look different in a week's time.
"But in a couple of weeks, so much can happen in football, so I don't know.
"So, I think we are, we're definitely want to do more, for sure. And also probably some players need to to move on as well at some point because the squad's going to start looking very big and very heavy. I don't know is the answer, but it will definitely look different in a week's time."

Luis Diaz to privately message ex-Everton star who raised major Bayern concerns

Luis Diaz moved to Bayern Munich after spending three-and-a-half years at Liverpool, and a former Everton star who also played at the Allianz Arena made his feelings clear on the transfer Luis Diaz plans to reach out to James Rodriguez, following the former Everton player's endorsement of his move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old recently completed a £65.5million transfer to the German giants after spending three-and-a-half years at Anfield. ‌ During his time with the Reds, Diaz clinched a full set of domestic honours that included two EFL Cup, an FA Cup and the Premier League title last season. Now seeking a fresh challenge, he is gearing up for his debut season in Germany, tracing the path of Rodriguez who admits he didn't always enjoy his two-season loan stint in Bavaria between 2017 and 2019. ‌ Rodriguez, now 34 and playing for Club Leon in Mexico, voiced his support for Diaz's decision to swap Merseyside for Munich. And Diaz, who is only the third Colombian to play for Bayern, following Rodriguez and Adolfo Valencia, said that he will reach out to his more senior compatriot. ‌ "About James, I haven't spoken much with him," Diaz told local German media. "Maybe I'll write to him to see what advice he has for me about the city, the team and everything else. But so far I haven't had the chance to talk to him." Rodriguez is confident Diaz will impress in the Bundesliga and help continue their dominance of German football. Speaking to LaBolaSports after his team's 2-0 defeat to New York City FC in the Leagues Cup, he said: "I think Lucho made the right choice. Bayern signed a great player, and Lucho is made for big teams. It's a great club, and he'll help them a lot." Rodriguez's loan spell at Bayern did deliver three major trophies, including two Bundesliga crowns, but he confessed he was never settled at the club owing to struggles with the language and the harsh climate. "First, the cold," he said on Daniel Habif's podcast in 2020. "Then, they are very cold people, although I received spectacular treatment at the club, they liked me a lot. Living there is not easy; it's very cold, -20 degrees. There were days when I would go to work at 9am, start up the car, and it would be -28 degrees. "I'd say, 'What am I doing here? What am I doing here with -28 degrees?' Munich is a city with a very high quality of life, but I couldn't feel comfortable... the (German) language was very hard for me; I didn't have any desire to learn it. ‌ "I told my (German) teacher in those first four months, 'Look, I'm not going to waste your time and I'm not going to waste mine. I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to. I don't want a language that doesn't make me want to learn it; I just didn't want to.'" James returned to Madrid in 2019 but only made a mere 14 appearances in what turned out to be his final season in Spain, where he won eight honours, including two La Liga titles and two Champions League titles. The chance to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti led the Colombian to sign for Everton, albeit for just one season, before he left for the Qatar Stars League with Al-Rayyan.

Benjamin Sesko may force Man Utd into humiliating 180 as 'club's response' speaks volumes

Manchester United seem to be throwing all their cards on the table in a bid to sign Benjamin Sesko, but should this move fail to materialise, they could be forced into a red-faced U-turn Manchester United have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, signalling their real intent to snap up RB Leipzig marksman Benjamin Sesko. But the Red Devils could yet be forced into an embarrassing 180 should a deal for Bundesliga ace collapse. ‌ A No. 9 has emerged as a key position that Ruben Amorim wishes to strengthen in this summer. And after the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, Sesko is now the top priority at Old Trafford over other strikers such as Ollie Watkins and Jean-Philippe Mateta. ‌ On Tuesday, it emerged a bid potentially totalling £74million has been tabled by United. However, a deal for the 22-year-old Slovenian won't be easy, with Premier League rivals Newcastle also still in the mix. ‌ Although Sesko expressed a preference for the Manchester club in the past, Amorim's side could be forced to shamefully return for Vlahovic if they end up missing out. According to Tuttosport, The Old Lady are keen to offload Vlahovic, who has just one year left on his current deal in Turin, and the player would like to depart himself. The 25-year-old is thought to have seen a request to terminate his current deal with a £9m severance package rejected, and an asking price of £21million has been set for a player who once cost £62m. Both AC Milan and United are claimed to have been offered the striker, with the Premier League side supposedly turning their noses up at signing Vlahovic in favour of pursuing Sesko. Yet, United are embroiled in a battle to sign the Slovenian with Newcastle. Eddie Howe's side have submitted an improved offer worth over £70m for Sesko to rival United's latest approach, with Sesko seemingly set to pick his ideal suitor. ‌ The Athletic even report that United have begun to search around for alternatives if Newcastle, whose purchase of Sesko likely depends on whether star striker and Liverpool target Alexander Isak departs the club, win the bidding war. Alongside mooted marksmen such as Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, Vlahovic remains a possibility while still available, though United would appear incredibly sheepish if they reversed their initial snubbing of the Serb. Regardless, it seems an inevitability that Amorim's side add to what was a lacklustre forward line last season this summer, with £72m man Rasmus Hojlund simply not producing. Captain Bruno Fernandes, who himself was linked with a move away from the club earlier this year, has called for change during their pre-season tour of the US, wishing for added competition and more signings. "I don't want to have a dig at anyone, but I think the club is doing the best they can in terms of all the financial situations they talk about," began Fernandes, speaking after United's 2-2 draw against Everton on Sunday. "I don't know about it, I'm not involved in that. But obviously, it was crystal clear we needed more competition for the players that were here. "We needed more quality to get everyone to step up a bit more and to have more to do to get into the starting line-up. I think that's what the club and the manager are trying to do and hopefully we can get one or two players more to help with that."
