I swapped my campervan in Wales for a £6.5k house in Bulgaria…but the ceiling's caving in & trees grow out of the stairs

A MOTHER has revealed that she and her family are moving from their campervan in Wales to a house in Bulgaria.
Despite such a big move abroad, the mum-of-three explained that she and her partner Stuart didn't bother viewing their new property before they purchased it.

They bought it online for only £6,500, but Charlie was left gobsmacked when she arrived and saw it for the first time in the flesh.
Charlie, who posts online under the username 'The Rolling Rucks', took to social media to give her followers a close-up look at the rundown property, which not only has windows missing, but trees growing out of the stairs.
And as well as the garden being massively overgrown, the ceiling is caving in too.
Not long after arriving at her new house, Charlie, who is ditching life in a campervan and moving to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria with her three kids - Oliver, Dexter, and Emilia - said: 'Now we've arrived I think we may have taken on more than we can chew.'
Charlie claimed that the house is 'much bigger' than she was expecting and pointed out the masses of 'overgrown' greenery taking over the land.
Not only this, but she also admitted to 'freaking out' about the thought of finding snakes in the overgrown shrubs.
But it's not just snakes that were causing issues, as Charlie acknowledged she 'can't get access' to the house as everything is 'so overgrown.'
However, moments later Charlie was able to get into one of the downstairs rooms, as she shared: 'As you can see, the ceiling's all come away, the render is all coming off the walls, it's in a bit of a state.
'The windows are all smashed and some of them are missing altogether.'
She also recognised: 'Even the entrance to the door is overgrown, there's trees coming out of the stairs.'
We lived in one of the UK's most expensive seaside towns but house prices were mental - so we saved £293k by packing up and moving abroad
The content creator admitted that prior to arriving, she and partner knew they 'had a challenge' on their hands.
But after visiting the Bulgaria property for the first time, Charlie claimed it was 'a lot worse' than what she was expecting.
Social media users react
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ therollingrucks, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 339,800 views, 5,285 likes and 689 comments in less than 24 hours.
But social media users were left hugely divided by Charlie's new pad - whilst some thought it had 'amazing potential,' others thought she was 'mad' to buy it.
One user wrote: 'It's all fixable.'
Moving house hacks
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.
2. Create an Inventory
Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.
3. Use Quality Packing Materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.
4. Label Everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.
5. Pack a 'First Day' Box
Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.
6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup
Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.
7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Colour-Code Your Boxes
Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
Another chimed in: 'Don't look at it as a whole, look at it in smaller projects. We have a house in Bulgaria, absolutely LOVE it!'
And someone else gushed: 'The potential is amazing. Stay positive and remember Rome wasn't built in a day.'
Meanwhile, at the same time, one person said: 'You're mad. It's for sale because even the Bulgarians won't buy it.'
A second added: 'Lol it's no surprise.'

Chloe Kelly admits 'I haven't bought a wedding anniversary card' amid Euro focus

Chloe Kelly described her husband Scott Moore as her 'best friend' having tied the knot in just under a year ago, but admits she's been so focused on the Euros her first anniversary is on the back burner England Lioness Chloe Kelly has admitted she's so focused on winning the Euros she hasn't even bought a card to celebrate her first wedding anniversary with husband Scott. The England hero, famed for her bunny hop penalties, is married to golf groundskeeper, Scott Moore. ‌ The pair tied the knot at a stunning ceremony at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire last July. But Chloe, 27, from Southall, West London, admitted she hasn't prepared anything for their first anniversary yet, which will fall just days after the Euros final on July 27. She said: "I haven't even got a card, to be honest. I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something and get my mum to sort it ‌ ‌ "But no, we are just taking it each game as it comes and we've got a huge game coming up and we know that we need to be at our best for that, so not looking too far ahead. I'm sure Scott has, but I definitely haven't." England will take on Sweden today for a place in the semi-finals against Norway or Italy. And after their 6-1 thrashing of Wales at the weekend, the Lionesses enjoyed some much deserved downtime with family and a team barbecue before beginning their training again on Tuesday. Chloe, who recently moved from Manchester City to Arsenal, said it was 'incredible' having new hubby Scott in Zurich alongside her dad Noel, 61, and brother. She added: 'He's my best friend, so it's great to have the support of him, my dad and brother.. and it's nice that we get to spend some time together. ‌ "Leah was winding me up yesterday because me and Scott were playing darts, and he beat me and I high-fived him, she was like, 'Chloe you're meant to be against him?' I was like, "Yeah, but, we're a team now. So, yeah, it was really nice. We had a little darts tournament yesterday, and it's nice to share moments with our family and of course, Scott as well." In a series of behind the scenes photos released from the Lionesses den, the players were pictured playing table tennis, Monopoly Deal, completing jigsaws together and doing basketball trick shots. Speaking about the importance of downtime, Alessia Russo told how she has been taking naps every day in the plush Dolder Grand Hotel where England has set up camp. She said: "Downtime is important on camp, especially as the tournament goes on and you're away for longer and longer. You need little things to get you through. "We've been playing a lot of Monopoly Deal and actually I haven't even won a game since I've been out in Switzerland, so I think I'm sitting bottom of the leaderboard right now. "Darts is another one. Lots of people have been playing darts. I also like to go off to my room and watching a little series every now and again. I've been napping pretty much every day since I've been out here." After being dumped from Love Island, Alessia's older brother Giorgio will join the Russo clan in the stands to cheer on his little sister and 'best friend' today. Speaking about his time on the reality TV show, Alessia added: "Love Island as well – we've all been watching as a team. When my brother was in it, I didn't really like watching it with loads of people so I'd just watch it with Tooney and Beth maybe and then we'd have a debrief over breakfast. He's out of it now so hopefully he'll be coming out to Switzerland."

Will Smith considers changing his first name to Welsh after discovering surprise connection to country

Will Smith has teased the possibility of changing his first name to Welsh after learning he has multiple connections to the nation and its culture. The actor, 56, joined host Lucy Owens on BBC Radio Wales to discuss a series of links to the country which neighbors England. She explained to the star that where he grew up in Wynnefield, Philadelphia, is actually named after Welsh physician Dr Thomas Wynne. She also revealed that his mother's hometown of Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, was named by 17th-century Welsh Quakers. 'So I'm Welsh?' Smith asked excitedly, 'I'm Welsh, basically.' Owens joked in response: 'Yes, Will! You are Welsh and we are claiming you.' The actor quickly decided he was a fan of his new heritage and pondered a name change. 'That might be my new name,' Smith laughed. 'Welsh Smith. I'm gonna be Welsh Smith.' Owens then added that Bryn Mawr, where Smith's mother still lives, translates to 'big hill' in Welsh. This again excited her guest: 'Big Will lives in Big Hill. This is crazy.' The host then joked that the Men In Black actor could turn the newfound information into a rap and Smith gave it an impromptu try, rapping, 'Big hill, big Will — big still!' Will is currently touring his new album Based On A True Story, his first since 2005's Lost And Found. The singer has a performance set for Cardiff Castle on August 25, only days after Welsh performer Sir Tom Jones. Will and Tom shared the screen on the '90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 'It was magnificent. When somebody with that kind of iconic status just walks into the room - he walked onto the set and you just get that [gasp], that thing when the audience recognizes what's happening,' Will recalled. 'It was one of the classic moments on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' The singer teased a tribute to Sir Tom in his Cardiff show: 'There's a part in my show where we celebrate his connection to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.'

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks shows off extreme weight loss in skimpy black dress

EastEnders star, Charlie Brooks, famous for playing Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, has shown off the results of her recent weight loss, posing in a dress she bought 22 years ago EastEnders actress, Charlie Brooks, has posted a jaw-dropping snap on Instagram in which she shows off the results of her extreme weight loss. The mum-of-one, 44, famous for playing the conniving Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, poses up a storm in the photo in which she wears a slinky black dress she bought 22 years ago, telling fans she was "very happy". ‌ She captioned the selfie in which she sports the geometric print mini dress, chunky black boots, gold jewellery and with her blonde locks piled on top of her head: "Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn't look happy. But I am actually very happy." ‌ ‌ Charlie's followers loved the post, with one replying: "Love it! Bonus it still fits and you look amazing!! Xx." While another gushed: "You look gorgeous! I love that dress! This is stunning!!" The soap legend, who gave birth to her daughter Kiki, who she shares with ex fiancé, Tony Truman, 20 years ago, previously admitted she'd become "slightly obsessive" with losing weight after dropping two stone in two months. Charlie filmed her fitness DVD, Charlie Brooks' Before & After Workout, in 2005, but later revealed how the process effected her confidence. ‌ Speaking with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2021, Charlie revealed she'd had "quite a complicated relationship" with her body and went "all in" when she filmed her DVD. She said: "I don't regret it, because it gave me an awareness of my body, but on the other hand, I crossed over into that kind of slightly obsessive weight loss thing. ‌ "You know, always wanting to get back to "that". "I've definitely had quite a complicated relationship with my body, never feeling pretty enough or healthy enough, and with the DVD it was extreme. I went all in." Charlie added that she still struggles at times and heartbreakingly admitted she can feel "disgusting", but is now about "70 per cent" of the way to accepting her body. ‌ Last week, Charlie revealed she's currently not working, two and a half years after her epic soap exit. Best-known for playing Janine on the long-running hit UK television show, Charlie recently took to Instagram to talk about life since leaving the BBC series. Sharing a picture in which the actress can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear while donning a black ensemble with sunglasses to match, Charlie captioned her post: 'Life is good. As someone who is generally validated by work…Turns out being at home, chilling with my dog, taking long walks, reforming, reading and actually getting to hang out with my friends doing everything and nothing makes me really f**king happy.'
