Former ‘Real Housewives of Miami' star Lea Black shares post after losing husband

Lea Black reached out to friends, family and fans Tuesday after word spread that her husband had passed away. Top criminal defense lawyer Roy Black, whose clients included numerous celebrities and prominent figures, died at age 80 Monday after battling an unknown illness. 'Thank you for all your blessings,' the former 'Real Housewives of Miami' star wrote on social media. Fans were introduced to the power couple and their young son RJ in the first season of 'RHOM,' which first aired in 2011. They lived in a sprawling, historic mansion in Coral Gables, and Lea gave the Miami Herald a grand tour that year. The pair's annual gala turned into a major plot point after ex cast member Cristy Rice crashed the charity event with two people, and a feud between her and Lea ensued for many, many episodes. Lea, 69, ended up leaving in Season 3 and did not show up for the Peacock reboot in 2021. The Texas native born Lisa Douthit went on to run a successful eponymous skincare company. The philanthropist added that details of a tribute and celebration of life for Roy will be forthcoming 'in a few weeks.' A service will reportedly be held at the New York native's alma mater, the University of Miami. In the comments, condolences poured in from prominent locals like chef Ingrid Hoffman, artist Romero Britto and politician Michael Gongora as well as from former castmates Lisa Hochstein, Karent Sierra and Romain Zago. A few of Roy's onetime clients also chimed in with good wishes, like Joe Francis. In 2008, the 'Girls Gone Wild' creator pleaded no contest to charges of videotaping underage girls, and was released after serving 11 months. The Blacks married in 1994, three years after Lea served as a juror in the highly publicized William Kennedy Smith rape trial, which ended in Roy getting the scion acquitted. The ex reality star told the Herald Tuesday that her late husband always 'fought for the underdog and people's civil rights,' regardless of who they were. 'He understood that we all have our flaws,' she said. 'He was able to separate people's behavior from their character. He wanted the best for everyone.'

Connie Francis, international pop singer and movie star, dies at 87

International pop singer Connie Francis died Wednesday at 87. Francis, known in part for her hit " Pretty Little Baby," had been living in Parkland since the late 1990s, per the Miami Herald. She was born in Newark, New Jersey. Flashback: Francis' film "Where the Boys Are," which was set and filmed in Fort Lauderdale, put South Florida's beaches on the map as a popular spring break destination. In 2010, on the 50th anniversary of the film, the city established a Walk of Fame on Fort Lauderdale beach at the inaugural Great American Beach Party to pay tribute to Francis with a star, the Sun Sentinel reported. The intrigue: Last month, Universal Music Group honored Francis with a plaque to honor the recent streaming success of "Pretty Little Baby."

‘Real Housewives of Miami' star's ex husband has another new girlfriend. Keep up

The ink on Lenny Hochstein's divorce from Lisa Hochstein is barely dry, and he's moved on yet again. The 'Real Housewives of Miami' castmate is with someone new these days, Us Weekly reports. She's Alena Kovalenko, a 25-year-old model from his homeland of Russia. They apparently met through a mutual friend and sparks flew. 'It's very new and fresh,' the plastic surgeon known as Boob God, 59, told the celebrity news outlet. 'We have a mutual attraction to each other, enjoy spending time together and doing the things that normal couples do.' Kovalenko calls Bali home, but that could change on a dime as Hochstein reveals she is currently staying with him at his Star Island mansion. On her Instagram, Kovalenko shows herself posing on the steps of the luxurious waterfront home that Hochstein used to share with his wife and two kids. The Moscow native now shares custody of the children 50/50 with his ex, with whom he split in 2022. 'Wearing confidence,' said Kovalenko's caption. So will the stunning visitor stay or will she go? That remains to be seen. 'It's still too early to make any decisions,' said Hochstein, who broke up with his on again, off again influencer fiancée Katharina Mazepa earlier this year. As for what Lisa Hochstein thinks of the current situation? She didn't respond to a Miami Herald request seeking comment, but that's not unusual given Bravo keeps all Housewives under lock and key. The 42-year-old did recently tell us that she is happy with her boyfriend Jody Glidden, with whom she founded SplitWell, an AI powered tool to make the divorce process easier. It also seems she would like things to get to the next level. Hochstein told Us in a separate interview last November during the Bravo Fan Fest in Wynwood: 'My left hand just feels a little empty.'
