Wild Change TV host of classic 90s show has a very different career that's worlds away from her telly fame
CHANGING Rooms legend Anna Ryder Richardson swapped wallpaper samples for wild animals after leaving TV - and now runs her very own zoo.
The telly favourite, once known for bold interior makeovers that divided the nation, has traded MDF and mood boards for meerkats and monkeys at her Welsh wildlife park.

She was the queen of the quick makeover - but these days Changing Rooms legend Anna Ryder Richardson is more at home with lemurs than living rooms.
Anna shot to fame alongside Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen transforming Britain's blandest lounges, until the hit BBC show ended in 2004.
She first found her flair for interiors while working in a kids' furniture shop, before landing a design slot on GMTV in 1996.
It was there she rubbed shoulders with celeb chef Ainsley Harriott - who helped her bag her big break on Changing Rooms.
After 10 series of telly makeovers and power tool drama, Anna swapped wallpaper for welly boots and headed Down Under for I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2007, where she became the sixth star voted out of the jungle.
But the jungle wasn't the wildest thing Anna would take on - as just a year later, the star made headlines by snapping up her very own zoo.
Swapping scatter cushions for safari-style chaos, Anna bought the crumbling Manor House Wildlife Park in rural Pembrokeshire in 2008 with her ex-husband - and set out to turn it into a top tourist hotspot.
Her rollercoaster mission was even turned into telly gold in Chaos at the Zoo, which followed the highs and lows of juggling animals, renovations and rogue rhinos.
Since taking over, Anna has poured her heart (and serious cash) into the place - building a £300k rhino house and welcoming in new residents including lions, zebras and parrots.
Owning a zoo might sound like a dream - but for Anna, it turned into a nightmare behind the scenes.
Clueless star Twink Caplan resurfaces with her quirky charm for the first time in 5 years as 90s movie gets reboot
Running Manor Wildlife Park put huge pressure on her marriage, and by 2017, the strain proved too much.
The star and her husband called it quits, later telling the Mail Online that the 'stresses and strains and expense of running our wildlife park have destroyed our marriage.'
Things soon turned messy, with the split spiralling into a bitter legal battle over who would keep the zoo.
Anna described the ordeal as a 'horrid limbo' as the once united animal lovers fought tooth and claw over the future of their wild empire.
Hottest home trends for 2025
Renovations expert Andy Simms, from MyBuilder.com revealed the hottest interior design trends for this year.
COLOUR DRENCHING
Colour drenching involves using your colour across walls and ceilings to maximise the impact and create the illusion of a bigger space - doors, radiators, and even furniture won't escape the paint job if you want the full effect. Brown, terracotta, beige - once the preserve of the 70s, earthy colours have been slowly gaining popularity. Similarly, bold greens and blues are also making a return, with the intention of colour drenching rooms.
STATEMENT WALLPAPER
Wallpaper divides designers, with some loving it and others preferring painted walls. 2025 will see a resurgence of wallpaper, and the bolder the better. For small spaces, such as downstairs loos or studies, choose a bold print and ignore any concerns about making the space look smaller. For larger spaces, consider a stunning mural theme.
BROKEN LIVING PLAN
Open plan living has been popular for over a decade now, but while it hasn't quite had its day, many are returning to smaller, functional spaces - with a twist. 'Broken plan' is when a bigger space is cut into various parts using screens, archways, crittal-style windows and doors or textured glass.
Speaking on the How To Be 60 podcast, Anna didn't hold back as she opened up about the fallout of her bitter split - and her unexpected new chapter.
Chatting to Loose Women star Kaye Adams, the 61-year-old said: 'I am enjoying a bit of celibacy, to be honest... but we've dived straight in there, haven't we? I'm officially still married for another few weeks.'
Reflecting on the turmoil of the past few years, she added: 'It's been probably the worst time, I think. It's actually been going on for such a long time. Have I wasted all that time? Being in this horrid limbo and control and not really living my life, even though I look like them.'
But after a long and painful battle, October 2024 finally brought closure - and a new beginning - with Anna officially returning to the helm at Manor Wildlife Park, ready to roar once more.
In a statement the former TV star said: 'I am very excited, it has been a long time coming, but I am finally back with my beloved animals, incredible team, and excited to greet our visitors into the park. I have huge plans for the future of Manor Wildlife Park.'

Kieran Trippier 'growing close to adult star' after collapse of his marriage
Footballer Kieran Trippier was spotted out with a mystery woman in recent weeks following months of reports his marriage was on the rocks - and now she has been identified as an OnlyFans star Kieran Trippier enjoyed a night out with an OnlyFans star before announcing his split from his wife, a report has claimed. The 34-year-old footballer, who plays for Premier League club Newcastle United as a right-back, has been married for nine years. He married partner Charlotte in Cyprus in 2016 and they went on to welcome a son named, Jacob, and two daughters, named Esme and Isla. For months, reports have raged that the couple have been in troubled waters - with headlines last year suggesting they had holidayed separately amid concerns for their marriage. Last September, there were concerns the marriage was over when Kieran was seen without his wedding ring. And two weeks ago, it was reported he had been spotted out with a mystery woman. Now the mystery has seemingly been solved, as the blonde woman he was spotted out and about with in Newcastle has been unmasked as an OnlyFans content creator named Sienna Day. A source told The Sun:"After leaving the Wafi Lounge, Kieran was in another club with Sienna and they appeared close. She is well known on the scene in Newcastle and was with him in the club for just over an hour. 'They left not long before 3am. Kieran looked very taken with Sienna.' The Mirror has approached representatives of Kieran for comment. Last week it was reported that Kieran and Charlotte had been separated for a year and are now planning to get a divorce. It was reported that the couple were keen to carry on with their lives while planning to make their divorce "as amicable as possible." Earlier this month, it was reported that Kieran had been spotted out in Newcastle partying with Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry. The England international, who has 54 caps, shared with his followers that he's moving forward after parting ways with his wife. Charlotte subsequently broke her silence on the reports of the end of their marriage, telling fans she is "fine" but not ready to talk. Taking to Instagram last week in view of her 34,300 followers, she said she had been inundated with messages of support from women and also men who had been sending their well wishes. "I just wanted to let everyone know that I am fine," she said. Charlotte added: "Obviously, I am not ready to talk about my situation. "In time I will, when I am comfortable and the time is right, also I have three young children, haven't I, so I don't want to be putting things out there for them to see. But yeah, I just wanted to let everyone know it's not that bad, and you can get through it once you make the decision. "Like, you can get through it, the sparkle does come back, I feel like I am getting my glow back again, and yeah, like, you'll get there. So, anyone that needs any motivational speech or just some general chit chat, I'm all about mental health and stuff like that, I'm letting you know you will absolutely get through, any sort of break up or anything similar to what I'm going through." Charlotte's post which has been liked over 2,800 times was soon flooded with messages of support. Former The Only Way Is Essex star Billi Mucklow penned: "Keep sparkling beautiful." One Newcastle United fan penned: "I live in the North East and I'm a huge Newcastle fan, I love Trippier on the pitch and all he's done for the team, and if I'm being honest, I didn't want to believe what I was reading on social media about him. However, I wanted to say I've followed you for a while now and what a lovely, genuine person you seem to be. Always so happy and classy. You're so pretty, he's lost a good one there!" Charlotte replied to the fan: "Thanks so much! Tripps defo does great on the pitch and so happy for you Geordies that you are doing so well! Much love to the Geordies."

'Royal plan' to win over Donald Trump from 'secret weapon' to 'icing on cake
The Royal Family look set to welcome Donald Trump to the UK on a historic second state visit after the summer - and it seems the US president could be keen for two major royals to took part After the Royal Family's summer holidays, they will return to duties with a bang due to Donald Trump's state visit to the UK. It is understood the US president will make an unprecedented second state visit to the UK in September with formal planning for the huge event now underway. The state visit comes after UK prime minister Keir Starmer delivered a letter from the King to Trump to invite him for the state visit - dramatically handing it to him in the Oval Office during a visit to the White House. Of course, the King and Queen Camilla will be on hand to host Trump and his wife Melania - but it seems the US leader has been enamoured by another member of the Royal Family, Prince William. The pair met in Paris last year after the re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral, with Trump reportedly 'obsessed' with the heir to the throne, calling him "very handsome". And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes William possibly teaming up with wife Kate to play a huge royal in the event would do wonders for UK diplomacy. She explained to the Mirror: "President Trump appears to have taken a shine to William, after their meeting at Notre Dame. So I'm sure we shall see Prince William taking a prominent role in the state visit. "The icing on the cake for Donald Trump would, of course, be the presence of the Princess of Wales at some of the events and at the state dinner. That will depend on her health. "But I'm sure both William and Catherine recognise the importance of massaging the President's ego, and they will play as prominent a part as possible. It's what the monarch and his senior working royals must do; it's their job and their duty and they will do it well." When Trump was first told he would be given a second state visit to the UK, the letter from the King invited him to an informal meeting in Scotland as a precursor to a full state visit. But this has now been brought forward by many months. Buckingham Palace was understood to have been hoping for a more leisurely approach amid concern over Trump's threat to make Canada the US's 51st state. However, sources confirmed after conversations between both parties the King and the US president's busy diaries mean they are unable to meet informally first over the summer. And Jennie added: "These are very tricky times for the Government - and the world - so you really can't blame the PM for using every diplomatic weapon in his arsenal. And the King is probably the most powerful weapon he has. "I imagine the King thinks Trump is impudent in the extreme by suggesting Canada should become the 51st US State. I can almost hear the huffing and puffing that it must have provoked behind Palace walls. But Charles also knows that Anglo/American relations are vitally important, and his duty is to help his Government protect that relationship. "So, although the King could conceivably have made himself unavailable at the proposed time, he knows his duty is to stage a spectacular event that will pander to this President's very sizeable ego. And that's what he'll do. "As Prince of Wales, he could allow himself the luxury of boycotting a state dinner for the Chinese president and his entourage – even though it attracted criticism. As King, he no longer has that luxury and he must play a starring role in the state visit at the appointed time. Charles and Camilla will be impeccably behaved, and Trump will be duly bewitched by the magic of monarchy." However, Jennie added that there would also be a diplomatic tightrope to walk for the King given his role as head of state of Canada - which he could even use to his advantage. She explained: "The President views himself as an arch negotiator, but it has to be said that the King is no mean hand himself at convening meetings and encouraging people to hammer out a solution to a variety of issues and problems. "So perhaps he can use a little not-so-soft power to impress upon Trump that Canada is not up for grabs. It is, after all, something exceptionally close to the King of Canada's heart."

Love Island star ordered to change image for fame after villa
Love Island alumni Liberty Poole has always been her own woman - from keeping it real in the villa to embracing those fabulous curves as she admits she was asked to do one strange thing post-villa She might not have found lasting love during her two stints on Love Island, but Liberty Poole is proof that staying true to yourself is perhaps the real win when it comes to participating in the dating show. The 25-year-old Brummie first found fame in 2021 when she coupled up with Jake Cornish on day one in the villa and quickly became one half of the show's golden couple – until she called time on the romance, days before the final. Last year, Liberty gave love another shot on Love Island: All Stars but, once again, chose self-respect over game-playing guys. Since then, as she exclusively tells OK!, she's turned her relationship woes into a platform for body positivity, inspiring her 1.3 million Instagram followers to embrace their imperfections. READ MORE: Michelle Keegan joins Padel trend with powerful racket that is 'ideal for female players' Hi Liberty! Looking back, how do you feel about your experiences in the villa? You know, no matter what, I always come out a stronger person. But yes, I feel like my journeys in the villa weren't the easiest. It's a time I'll always cherish, but there were also some negative things to deal with. Obviously, I had to rewatch my boyfriend on TV saying he wasn't attracted to me, then in the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, I got pied three times. I was the girl who was never picked or fancied. I think it's important to remember that there's such a small group of people in there, it's not a reflection on you – it's just the nature of the show. We're in the middle of the current series – any changes you would have liked to have seen this season? Well, I feel like they've come a long way since earlier seasons with diversity, but I do think they could still do more with body diversity as well. There's always a certain body type that goes into the villa, so I think more could be done in that sense. Because I'm a bit of a curvier girl myself, I do a lot of body positivity now online. Before I went on Love Island, I used to heavily edit my photos and shrink my waist. Whereas, when you're in front of a camera, you can't hide. Did you feel like people in the All Stars villa knew how to play the game and weren't taking part to find love? Yeah, I definitely think some people did. I remember having a conversation with one particular person in the All Stars villa and I was honestly just trying to have a genuine conversation with them. They said to me, 'Oh no, you're not doing this conversation right, you're mentioning the fourth wall.' They said that we needed to 'redo' the conversation. It wasn't even one of the producers who said that – it was a cast member. I realised people were actually thinking like that. I just went in as me because I don't think anything else would have worked for me. Do you think it's still possible to begin a long-lasting relationship in the villa or is it now more of a platform to find fame? I would say it's evolved more into that now, yes, because I think people are very aware that you go on the show and you get a certain following and it does open up opportunities and doors for you. I would say it's maybe more evolved into that now than the first season, but I wouldn't paint everyone with the same brush and say everyone's in it for the fame. I still think people do go into the villa open to finding love. Were there any challenges you experienced, returning to normality after you left Love Island for the first time? The welfare team really supports you during your time on the show and after the show, when you return home. For me, the difficulty was coming out. Never compromise your happiness for fame and money. You do get a bit love-bombed by the show. Obviously, you're busy when you come out and it's this crazy whirlwind, but it calms down. From the start, I'd say do not compare yourself to anyone else because everyone else's journey in the industry is different. When I came out, I had times where I was told to wear designer bags more to elevate my image. That just wasn't me – no thanks. What advice would you give any prospective Islanders? Just be yourself. I've been there and I've seen people be themselves and it works out for them a lot better than the people who try to pretend or play up to the camera in some way. Also, the public are not stupid. So just be yourself and you'll get further down the line. Some people's experiences are that you go in and find love and end up in a long-lasting relationship, like Alex and Olivia [Bowen], Indiyah [Polack] and Dami [Hope] – they're all still in very happy relationships. You can be open to that aspect, but I wouldn't go in with that expectation.
