Love Island viewing figures revealed for final as ITV2 show receives ratings boost
The viewing figures for the latest series of Love Island have been revealed, with the ITV2 reality competition's final being watched by an impressive number of fans The viewing figures for the final of the latest series of Love Island have been revealed. The ITV2 reality dating show wrapped up its latest outing on Monday night when Toni Laties and Cach Mercer were voted the nation's favourite couple and walked off with the £50,000 prize. And on Tuesday, it was revealed that the grand finale had pulled in 1.3million viewers, up 300,000 from the All Stars spin-off that aired earlier this year. Along with series 10 in 2023, the figure now holds the joint-highest position since series eight, which was won by Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu in 2022, and pulled in a solid three million viewers. The latest series has seen the highest number of complaints to Ofcom since the 2022 series. A total of 9,339 complaints were made to the broadcasting regulator in this vein whilst a further 298 were made about the way Blu spoke to Toni. Elsewhere, there were 55 complaints about Megan returning to the villa following her democratic dumping and a further 29 complaints expressed their concern for Harry following his breakup with Helena as he opened up about his feelings for Shakira. It comes after Harry's weird fetish on the show had fans left feeling disgusted for a very specific reason. One Islander to face criticism from viewers was Harrison, who quit the series three weeks before the final. Amid his stint on Love Island, a spokesperson for the women's charity issued a statement to the Tab, which included mention of women being "lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs" during their time on the show. Harrison then addressed the "backlash" in an interview with the Daily Mail, saying he has found it "hard to digest". He told the outlet: "I would disagree with a lot of it in terms of my respect for women, I do respect women." He said that the "worst" reaction had been from Women's Aid. He said: "I know myself and the girls on the show too, Toni said she knows I'm not a bad person, just went about situations in the wrong way, but the Women's Aid statement wasn't nice ... it's not nice coming out of the villa to my mum upset by that so I would say that's been the hardest." Harrison said that he is "sorry" to the women that he has "hurt," before saying that he "got it wrong". He added that the "back and forth" between his connections with Lauren and Toni ended up causing "more harm" than he intended. He however said that it wasn't "an ego thing". The former islander said he isn't proud of the way he handled things in the villa and won't "make excuses". Harrison said that he just wants to "own it" and assured: "If people can give me the space to grow from it, I will do everything I can to be better, and that's the only thing I can do."

Princess Andre TV show start date: when does The Princess Diaries air?
Princess Andre, the daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price, is stepping into the limelight herself with her own show and it is due to start airing on ITVX very soon Princess Andre was born into the world of celebrity as the daughter of showbiz legends Katie Price and Peter Andre. But now, she's stepping into the limelight in her own right with her own show The Princess Diaries. The starlet, who recently celebrated her 18th birthday, is set to open up about how her parents' estranged relationship has affected her through her childhood and teenage years amongst other things when the series goes to air. The first episode will air on Sunday 10 August at 9pm on ITV2, and viewers who are so captured by the new series will be able to watch the whole thing as a boxset on ITVX as well. And in the new series, the teenager has shared things haven't always been easy for her. In the first episode, Princess opened up about why she felt she could never speak to her dad, Peter, 52, about her mum following their bitter split and the fact they haven't spoken in years. Peter and Katie famously met when they competed on I'm A Me Out Of Here! in 2004. Within a year, they married and had Junior, 20, in June 2005. It comes after her mum Katie Price worried fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. Princess followed in 2007 but the couple eventually called it quits in 2009 after four years of marriage. These days, Peter is married to Emily Andre and has Theo, Amelia and Arabella with her whilst Katie has Jett and Bunny with Kieran Hayler, and was already mum to Harvey, 23, with Dwight Yorke by the time she met Peter. Princess has addressed traumatic memories of her glamour model mum Katie's divorce from Pete as well as her other very public relationships In a candid confession on the series, its title a reference to the 2001 Disney classic starring Anne Hathaway and the young adult novel of the same name, Princess said: "I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. "But I don't feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age." Princess said she wishes she "wasn't like that" and that she had things lingering at the back of her mind while being very young. She did acknowledge "good times" in her childhood and discussed Katie's split from Kieran Hayler when she was 10 years old. Katie and Kieran were married for eight years but had a rocky relationship, with accusations of infidelity. They officially split in May 2018 but were married from 2013 to 2021, and Katie is now in a relationship with former Married At First Sight star JJ Slater. However, Princess admitted when speaking of her mum's previous breakup: "My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn't deal with that in the best way, she went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable," Princess shared. Revealing how the tough time also had an impact on her, she added: "Which is hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see and I think as well, when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on." She heartbreakingly shared how she would return from school early to "get into bed and cry". Princess said she is close to her dad Pete, but would never speak to him about her pain. The model confessed she has "always grown up knowing my mum and dad don't like each other." Princess added: "I wouldn't say I'm fully, fully recovered from it but mum is such a different person and if you put her now to back then, she's genuinely really fixed herself."

During the finale, Yasmin's twin sister Zara and mum Mitra hosted a TikTok livestream. Speaking in the clip, Mitra said: "What you don't understand is this is not a paid vote. "If it's not a paid vote, you cannot see the results. That means they can say whatever they want. "Do you understand? For you to see the result - a correct result that people vote - you have to pay cash. "Because this is free voting, they decide." Mitra referenced Yasmin and Dejon writing each other's names on their boards during a villa game. The Islanders were asked who they'd couple up with if their actual partner wasn't in the villa. She added: "I always knew after that episode that Yasmin's not going to win - because of the way they edited it." The Sun has approached ITV for comment. Maya Jama says she 'blacked out' during Love Island final as she praises 'most dramatic series yet' However, ITV have refuted Mitra's claims by releasing the finale's voting percentages. Winners Toni and Cach secured an impressive 33.5% of the audience's support. Shakira and Harry drew a sizeable 26.2% of the votes, while Yas and Jamie were not far behind taking 22% on the nose. Aesthetics practitioner Angel, 26, only made her debut on July 17, but managed to secure an impressive 18.3% of the overall voting audience with Casa Amor boy Ty. As for Yasmin, she entered the villa on Day 5 alongside fellow bombshells Emily and Malisha. She then explored connections with villa boys Shea, Conor, Harry and Ben. Yasmin met Jamie during Casa Amor - and their bond continued into the final. Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX.
