Man Utd in Nicolas Jackson transfer boost with Chelsea striker snubbing two European giants to stay in Premier League

MANCHESTER UNITED have received a boost in the chase for Nicolas Jackson after he snubbed two European giants - but they will have to pay Chelsea £80m for the striker.
The Senegalese ace has already turned down offers from
Napoli
and
AC Milan
in preference of staying in the Premier League.

Jackson could be set for a shock exit from Chelsea this summer
Jackson has seen his once-undisputed starting spot at
Liam Delap
, who turned down a move to
Old Trafford
in favour of joining
Stamford Bridge
.
Cole Palmer
stole the show to lead Chelsea to Club World Cup victory.
Jackson's misery was compounded by the fact that he was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of that historic win —perhaps as punishment for being sent off twice in his previous four appearances for the club.

The former
AC Milan have also made their intentions clear, though sources say the player loves playing in
England
and would prefer to stay in the Premier League if he were to move.
He still has seven years remaining on his current deal and Chelsea would ideally like to have two No9s competing for minutes and pushing each other to the limit.
But the transfer window is very fluid and a project like that of
Manchester
United's could be of interest to the player. And if the £80m valuation is met, it could tempt Chelsea into a sale.

Aston Villa
manager
Unai Emery
still has a special relationship with Jackson from their time together at Villarreal.
He is a big fan of the forward's ability to link up play and sources have told SunSport that Villa have asked to be informed if the player becomes available.

He was also on
target
as they came from behind to beat
Real Betis
and win the
UEFA
Conference League.
Chelsea boss
Enzo Maresca
expressed confidence in Jackson last season when he said he would like to "clone" the striker if the club were to sign another forward.
Speaking in a press conference in April, he said: 'With Nico, we are a completely different team compared to when he was injured. We are happy with Nico as our striker.
"
My perfect No9 is exactly Nico Jackson. We already have a No9. It's not the
summer
now. If we can have a copy of Nico, it's OK. With Nico, we are a better team. Nico is the one we need.'
Jackson is currently back in
Senegal
for his
holidays
after a long season but there should be clarity over his long-term
future
in the coming weeks.

Manchester United's Bryan Mbeumo delighted to join 'biggest club in the world'

Bryan Mbeumo began playing football in a Manchester United shirt with Cristiano Ronaldo on the back and is overjoyed to have the chance to follow in the great's footsteps at the "biggest club in the world". After seven weeks and some tense talks between the clubs, the 25-year-old finally completed his move from Brentford on Monday for £65million (€75m) plus a potential £6million in add-ons. Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with the option of a further season, at what he calls the "club of my dreams" – one whose shirt he wore as a kid growing up in France. "From the start I wanted to join this club, this massive club, and now I'm here and I'm just really happy," the Cameroon international told club media. "For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here. "I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and, yeah, I'm really happy to be here." Mbeumo says he idolised Ronaldo and Lionel Messi growing up, as well as admiring Neymar and Eden Hazard, and joins Matheus Cunha in bolstering what has been a blunt United attack. The forward says the Brazil international will "bring something new" to a team that he is excited to get to know better when they head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday. "I think it's really important for me joining a new club," Mbeumo said. "It's important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well with the team-mates, so in and out the pitch. "The spirit is really important. Yeah, create a group, being involved as soon as possible, for me, it's something really important." Mbeumo links up with United after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham and is someone he sees similarly to new boss Ruben Amorim. "I think they have similar values," he said. "He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need. "It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and, yeah, with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team."

FAI Cup draw: Champions Drogheda United drawn against Derry City in repeat of last year's final

Defending champions Drogheda United will travel to the Brandywell to take on Derry City in a repeat of last season's FAI Cup final, one of four all Premier Division clashes to come out of the pot in Tuesday's third-round draw. St Patrick's Athletic will host Shelbourne in a Dublin derby at Richmond Park, while Turners cross will see an all Munster encounter between Cork City and Waterford. Bohemians will also host Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park. Drogheda's reward for winning the cup final last November was qualification to the Uefa Conference League but they were subsequently removed as their owners Trivela are not allowed to enter two teams in the same European competition. Trivela's Swedish club Silkeborg IF also progressed to the Conference League. The FAI Cup takes on greater significance this year as the champions go into the Europa League qualifiers, where they would earn a minimum of €4.31 million by reaching the group stages. Progress in the Conference League only guarantees €3.17 million in Uefa prize money. READ MORE The upgrade is due to Shamrock Rovers' recent success in Europe. Stephen Bradley's side face Longford Town in Tallaght in the last 16, while there is a rare Galway derby as amateur outfit Salthill Devon were drawn against Galway United. All ties will be played the week ending Sunday, August 17th.
