Joramco successfully concludes first participation at MRO South Asia Summit 2025

Amman, Jordan – Joramco, the Amman-based maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), participated for the first time at this year's MRO South Asia Summit, which took place on 26–27 March in New Delhi, India. The event brought together many attendees from various airlines, lessors, MROs, OEMs, suppliers, and industry experts.
The summit served as a platform to explore business opportunities and connect with big players in the region. Joramco's successful participation resulted in the announcement of strategic partnerships with Tim Aerospace and IndiGo. In addition, an award ceremony, titled 'Excellence in Global MRO', was held as part of the event, where Joramco was recognized as the International MRO Partner of the Year, reaffirming the company's positioning in the global landscape in the MRO market.
Joramco's participation enabled the company to demonstrate its expertise to India and South Asia and explore new business opportunities. India has grown as a potential aviation market in recent years, with the MRO sector being valued at more than USD 2.6 billion. It is expected to surpass the USD 4 billion mark by 2030.
Commenting on this event, Chief Executive Officer of Joramco, Fraser Currie, stated, 'We are pleased to take part in in the MRO South Asia Summit for the first time. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration across key economic and industrial sectors, with a particular emphasis on the new economy, logistic transportation, advanced technology, manufacturing and food Touq underscored the deep-rooted and strategic partnership between the UAE and India, noting the shared commitment of the leadership to expanding cooperation in new economy sectors. 'The two nations enjoy a decades-long history of economic collaboration built on shared interests and a common vision for sustainable growth,' Bin Touq Touq further highlighted significant areas of alignment in both countries' development strategies, including the circular economy, advanced manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology. Bin Touq said, 'Economic collaboration between the UAE and India continues to strengthen, with notable growth in business activities. In the first half of 2025 alone, 22,415 new Indian companies entered the UAE market, an increase of over 10 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. By the end of June 2025, the total number of Indian companies operating in the UAE reached 264,687. During the meeting, we discussed strategies to enhance communication between business communities of the two countries and to encourage the establishment of diverse ventures across vital economic sectors.'He noted that the UAE has an adaptable and competitive legislative and economic environment that stimulates industrial investments across the world. The manufacturing sector contributed 13.5 per cent to the UAE's non-oil GDP in 2024, ranking as the second on the list of economic activities contributing most to the non-oil GDP of the national economy. Additionally, the foreign direct investment (FDI) in this vital sector reached approximately Dh 40 billion (USD 10.9 billion) by the end of 2022, representing 7 per cent of the country's total FDI meeting also explored the key enablers and competitive advantages of the UAE's business environment for Indian companies, along with strategies to maximise these benefits. Among the highlighted strengths were the UAE's strategic location connecting East with West, its comprehensive economic partnerships, advanced infrastructure, diverse logistics services, and tax incentives that encourage the establishment of diverse economic and investment activities. Both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, aimed at adopting the latest technologies across sectors related to the new economy. This supports the building of a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy and fosters sustainable economic development.

The construction of the aircraft maintenance centre underscores flydubai's dedication to strengthening its inhouse capabilities, and reflects the carrier's growing maturity as it expands its fleet and groundbreaking ceremony was attended by a senior delegation led by Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, who joined Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, as well as representatives from the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH).Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, said: 'We are proud to witness the groundbreaking of flydubai's new aircraft maintenance centre at Dubai South, a key milestone that reflects the airline's continued growth and operational advancement. The maintenance centre will be situated near Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), set to become the world's largest airport upon to support flydubai's ambitious growth plans, the new maintenance centre will be home to the carrier's expanding team of more than 600 skilled engineers working in line maintenance, technical services, materials and workshops, tasked with guaranteeing the safety and airworthiness of flydubai's offers global aerospace players investment opportunities, and is a free-zone destination for the world's leading airlines, private jet companies, MROs, and associated industries. Located in and developed by Dubai South, MBRAH is also home to maintenance centres and training and education campuses. It seeks to strengthen engineering industries to foster the emirate's vision of becoming a leading aviation has partnered with Group AMANA, a leading regional company that specialises in the design-build of industrial and commercial facilities, to deliver a modern facility built to the highest international standards in the heart of Dubai South. At the 2023 Dubai Airshow, flydubai placed its fourth order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Today, the carrier has built a modern and efficient fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, and is expected to receive more than 120 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft over the next decade.
