
King Charles joins health drink trend selling new range of booze-free spirits
King Charles has become the latest to join in with the teetoal trend of healtheir alternatives to alcohol in an attempt to keep spirits up by selling a range of mood-boosting, booze-free liquors.
Teetotal tipples, laced with natural botanicals, are now available online and at the monarch's Highgrove estate near Tetbury, Glos, for £32 a bottle. They come from Smiling Wolf, which uses a blend of nootropics and active ingredients to promote an increase in alpha brainwaves, serotonin, dopamine as well as regulate the mood and decreate anxiety - meaning you feel good from more of the lack of a hangover. The London dry gin is made with a cocktail of pink peppercorns, lemon peel, cardamom and coriander seeds.
It is described as 'perfect if you want an uplift and touch of relaxation while enjoying your favourite gin cocktail without the hangover." The second is an aperitive and contains natural mood-enhancing vitamins for a "social buzz."
Charles' latest offering comes amid a craze for alternative, booze-free beverages like mushroom coffee and green matcha tea. But His Majesty, 76, is known to enjoy a strong cocktail.
Insiders say he enjoys a pre-dinner gin and dry vermouth with a twist of lemon so much that he takes the ingredients with him when abroad. In September, Charles opened a pop-up gin bar at Sandringham using ingredients grown on the estate.
His other ventures have included serving up a new range of burgers at the estate's posh restaurant and a pop-up homemade ice-cream stall. Last year, Charles launched his Highgrove Royal Estate Honey, which is produced by bees living on the 1000-acre grounds.
The organic honey, which costs a staggering £25 for a 350g jar, is described as "beautifully delicate" and "makes a fantastic gift for food lovers with its distinctive lime flavour." It comes after the Duchess of Sussex recently launched a rival £20 limited edition orange blossom honey as part of her newly re-named lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Other products available through Meghan's online shop include a 2023 Napa Valley Rose wine, apricot and raspberry jam, a shortbread cookie making kit and herbal teas. A trademark application also reveals she plans to extend the range to include workout gear and dog treats.
Before the brand's official launch, Meghan reportedly sent 50 jars of jam to influencers, including fashion designer Tracy Robbins and Argentine socialite Delfina Balquier, for taste testing. The duchess has received much criticism over the venture, with some branding it a "publicity stunt."
Some royal insiders have claimed Meghan's range of preserves inadvertently boosted Highgrove jam sales. Charles' Highgrove Organic Strawberry Preserve, priced at £6.95, reportedly sold out mere hours after Meghan's launch.

Airline pilots are told they should let rip in the cockpit, according to an air hostess who has revealed some wild facts from her experiences in the sky It's one of those taboo habits that most travellers would agree is just not on. Farting on a plane is simply wrong for the same reason car wind and lift trumps are 'illegal' - the victim is trapped and cannot escape. Sitting next to another passenger with wind is indeed a very unfortunate event and a rotten start to your holiday or trip. You either have to keep getting up out of your seat to let them go to the toilet every time they need to privately pop off, or you suffer the revolting indignation of breathing the foul air that has blasted out directly from their intestines into your lungs. However, if you're a pilot rather than a passenger, you will have been told you MUST toot freely while in the cockpit, according to an one Argentine flight attendant. Barbara Bacilieri, also known as Barbie Bac to her almost 2.65milion YouTube million followers, claims pilots are "prohibited" from holding in their gas because the discomfort it causes can distract them from their crucially important role. To make matters worse, flatulence is heightened when the plane reaches an altitude of 30,000 feet. "At high altitudes, atmospheric pressure is lower, which increases the volume of internal gases," she explained. "This can cause discomfort and distraction in the cockpit when the pilots should be focused on doing their job, not in pain from being full of gas. That's why it's always recommended that pilots, if they have to, just release them." Her wild assessment is even backed up by a 2013 study by Danish and British gastroenterologists. Hans Christian Pommergaard, Jakob Burcharth, Anders Fischer, William Thomas and Professor Rosenberg told the New Zealand Medical Journal that holding your farts in may seem preferential but they suggested that for the sake of their health and comfort, passengers and crew should set them free. Not doing so could lead to pain, bloating, indigestion, stress and even nausea, they said. According to the Sydney Morning Herald they concluded: "There is actually only one reasonable solution - just let it go." The medics did recognise that air cabin quality may be diminished for other passengers though. The gassy dilemma also applied to the cockpit and pilots, the specialists found. "If the pilot restrains a fart, all the drawbacks previously mentioned, including diminished concentration, may affect his abilities to control the airplane. If he lets go of the fart his co-pilot may be affected by its odour, which again reduces safety on board the flight." Barbie Bac also claims the pilots eat different meals - not to see who can produce the biggest back draft but so they don't both suffer another unfortunate bowel incident. "The commander and the copilot choose different meal options. One will choose chicken and the other will choose pasta," she says. This apparently is to lessen the chances of them both getting food poisoning, which would mean no one would be able to fly the plane - not ideal. "It's almost always the captain who makes the choice, and the copilot is the one who has to accept the alternative," explained Bacilieri, who works for a Spanish budget carrier.

King's reconciliation with Harry takes major step after 'secret peace summit'
Senior aides to the King and the Duke of Sussex have been seen together in what could be a sign of reconciliation between the two royals. The King's communication secretary Tobyn Andreae was spotted meeting two members of Harry's team at the Royal Over-Seas League near Clarence House in London. 'Meghan Markle was mocked over new move - but she's seen the future'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's career moves since quitting royal life have certainly ruffled feathers, from a bestselling book that tears down the royal family to bombshell podcasts and making jam. Most recently, the Duchess of Sussexes' Netflix show With Love, Meghan - which sees her offer tips and tricks for cooking and hosting - was savaged by critics and only just managed to scrape into the top 10 shows streamed on the platform when it released. And in 2023, Spotify parted ways with the couple, ending a £15m deal. An executive at the company even branded the pair "grifters" after the collaboration fell flat. Meghan has since launched her own podcasts, as well as her sell-out lifestyle brand As Ever which offers flower sprinkles, wine and jam amongst other items. The couple's commercial endeavours have sparked anger from some royal watchers who believe they are still profiting from their fractured royal ties. And after striking up deals with streaming and audio giants, all while still focusing on their charity work and solo ventures, other onlookers have simply felt underwhelmed by their endeavours. Recently, royal commentator Esther Krakue savagely branded Harry and Meghan "boring and unprofitable", claiming that Meghan has "nothing to lose" if her lifestyle brand As Ever were to fail. Despite the brutal claims, royal expert Jennie Bond believes that the couple's deals with streaming services Netflix and Spotify delivered what was promised, and were more popular than some give credit for. Harry and Meghan have so far produced five projects for Netflix, including their docuseries, Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, Polo and With Love, Meghan. Netflix is also a partner of As Ever. Jennie, a former royal correspondent with the BBC, told the Mirror that despite the public backlash over their projects, the Sussexes have delivered on their agreement with the streaming services to give fans a look into their lives. She said: "It's quite obvious that Netflix got involved with them because they wanted the inside story of their royal life. And they got it. It's true that they haven't managed to produce much content since then, or at least content that has proved particularly popular. 'But Meghan's lifestyle show is perfectly pleasant and has some quite useful tips. For example she was much mocked for saying that she wanted to 'elevate' ordinary things. But she's quite right: if you watch any cookery programmes, all the professionals agree that it really is vital that dishes are beautifully presented.' Jennie notes that while Meghan is a natural in front of the camera, Prince Harry may have found the task much more difficult. She said: 'Harry was probably always going to be out of his depth as a would-be TV producer or presenter. 'He has dabbled, and the results have been mediocre, so I think he now realises he is better placed using his platform to pursue his charitable and campaigning work.' When asked if she thought Meghan had anything to lose if her business fails, Jennie said: 'Well, she has her pride certainly, and I believe her when she says she has poured her heart and soul into her business curating a range of products for her website. So far, it has been quite successful - there is clearly a high demand as everything sells out almost instantly. 'She has certainly built up a very impressive following on social media in a very short time – and that is where the future lies for so many business ventures.
