Fahadh Faasil's Viral ‘Nokia 3310-Like' Phone Is ‘Handmade With Sapphire', Can Cost Up To Rs 70L
Mollywood actor Fahadh Faasil was spotted using a simple keypad phone and many are now curious about its brand, price and features.
Faasil is one of the rare actors who avoid social media and do not use smartphones. He rarely appears at public events, too, but a new video of him using a phone has caught a lot of attention. But this wasn't a usual phone with a touchscreen.
Instead, Fahadh was seen using a simple keypad phone during the puja ceremony of director Abhinav Sunder's Mollywood Times.
Why is it Expensive?
What made it special was that the phone was a luxury model, as its price could exceed Rs 1 Lakh. This rare phone is different from the modern phones we see today. Many are now curious about its brand, price and features. We have gathered all the details to help you learn more about this rare and expensive phone that Fahadh still uses today.
Features
A video shared by content creator Effin M, who often posts about gadgets used by celebrities, revealed that the phone Fahadh Faasil was using is the Vertu Ascent Ti. The luxury device was first announced in 2007 and launched in 2008. The phone is made from strong titanium, has sapphire crystal screen protection and features hand-stitched leather on the body. Although it is now discontinued, the content creator shared that the phone can still be found on some pre-owned product websites.
But after closely watching the video, the phone seen in the actor's hand looks very similar to the Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone – Grey, listed on Vertu's UK website. The design on the back, especially the texture and finish, matches the model shown on the site. While Effin M mentioned it was the Ascent Ti, the visual details hint that it could be the Retro Classic version instead.
Price
At the time of its release, Vertu Ascent Ti was priced at a whopping Rs 5.54 Lakh. In comparison, the Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone is currently listed at $11,920 (approximately Rs 10 lakh).
According to Onmanorama, Vertu offers a range of models priced from ₹1 lakh, with premium options going up to ₹70 lakhs.
How to Know if a Vertu Phone is Real or Fake
Genuine Vertu phones are known for high-quality materials like sapphire crystal screens and premium leathers, meticulous craftsmanship, and a unique concierge service. You can verify the IMEI through Vertu's official website, which will provide details about the phone's specifications and potentially its warranty status.
After having a successful 2024 with films like Aavesham, Vettaiyan, Bougainvillaea and Pushpa 2: The Rule, Fahadh Faasil is now ready for his first release of 2025, Maareesan. The film brings him back on screen with actor Vadivelu, his co-star from Maamannan. The movie will release in cinemas on July 25.

Ajay Devgn postpones 'Son Of Sardaar 2' amid 'Saiyaara' wave as Mohit Suri's film mints Rs 45 crore in two days
It has collected Rs 45 crore in two days and now Devgn has postponed the film by a week and it will now release on August 1 read more Ajay Devgn's Son Of Sardaar 2 was all set to arrive in cinemas on July 25 but nobody expected Mohit Suri's Saiyaara to smash records at the box-office. It has collected Rs 45 crore in two days and now Devgn has postponed the film by a week and it will now release on August 1. Chunky Panday's nephew Ahaan Panday made a sensational debut alongside another fresh face Aneet Padda with Saiyaara. The love story, which released yesterday, opened to a thunderous response and earned Rs 21.25 crore on its first day. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD As Ahaan, who followed his uncle Chunky Panday's & cousin Ananya Panday's footsteps, has been garnering love and praises for his performance, the Housefull 5's Instagram post, where he took a dig at the 'Kapoors and Khans' of Bollywood, has gone viral. The post, which featured the pictures of Chunky Panday, Ananya Panday and Ahaan Panday, read the caption, 'In a world of Kapoors and Khans, Pandays came out of syllabus." Several users shared their reactions in Reddit's comment section. While one wrote, 'I mean, Pandays indeed came out of the syllabus. No one could've predicted that Chunky Panday's daughter will have a better career than SRK's daughter and Chunky Panday's nephew will have a better first movie than Amitabh's grandson!" Another commented, 'These nepos should take out each other. That is the drama I am here for." 'Aamir Khan's son, Bachhan's grandson, Saif's son, etc. So many big nepos, it's low-key funny that Chikki Panday's son beat them all, like who even cares for Panday family otherwise?" read another comment. Another user wrote, 'Pandays did come out of the syllabus. Even the one who is not in the acting profession, Alanna, managed to make her way through YouTube."

Eros Hits Back At Aanand L Rai, Calls Raanjhanaa's Altered Ending ‘Creative Reimagining'
Eros International denies Aanand L Rai's claims over AI-altered Raanjhanaa ending, calling it a creative reimagining and not a replacement of the original story. Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has openly expressed his disappointment over the news of Eros International planning to alter the ending of his 2013 classic romantic drama Raanjhanaa by using AI. Now, after the director expressed his sadness, the studio has explicitly rejected Aanand's allegations, calling the altered ending just a creative re-imagination and not a replacement. In a statement to PTI, the company's Group CEO, Pradeep Dwivedi, said, 'This is a creative reimagining, not a replacement, and is consistent with global industry practices, including anniversary editions, alternate cuts, and modernised remasters. We categorically reject Mr Rai's allegations, which are not only factually incorrect but also legally unfounded. The re-release is a respectful reinterpretation and not a 'tampering' of the original. It is clearly positioned as an alternate, AI-enhanced version—akin to classic cuts or re-edits seen globally." Further, when questioned if the team of Raanjhanaa was informed about the studio's decision, the company stated that it holds the sole and exclusive copyright of the film. It added that the 'reinterpretation has been developed with sensitivity and respect for the original creative team's contribution." While sharing that they tried to acknowledge Aanand's 'concerns and responded to him respectfully," they added that he 'has chosen to publicly distance himself from the project, despite the film being a product of collaborative effort where rights are lawfully vested with the producer. Our re-release is an homage to the film's legacy, not a deviation from it." Why did Eros alter the ending of Raanjhanaa? Eros International has reportedly sold an updated version of Raanjhanaa to Tamil Nadu-based distributor Upswing Entertainment for the film's release in the Tamil language. Director Aanand L Rai believes the studio deliberately chose to test the AI-generated version in a region where his influence is limited, but where lead actor Dhanush remains popular. In the original ending of Raanjhanaa, Dhanush's character, Kundan, dies. But in the AI-modified version, the story takes a different path, with Kundan surviving and the film concluding on a happier note. For the unversed, Aanand L Rai has previously collaborated with Dhanush in Atrangi Re. They are working on their third film together, Tere Ishk Mein, with Kriti Sanon.
