Strasbourg's Mamadou Sarr to join Chelsea before Club World Cup
Sarr's move from RC Strasbourg Alsace to Stamford Bridge has not yet been confirmed, however, that is expected to change in the coming hours. As per a report from RMC Sport in January, the French centre-back is set to join RCSA's partner club in a €20m deal.

That deal will be completed imminently, L'Équipe understands. After a few days of rest, he will link up with his new Chelsea teammates before flying to the USA for the Club World Cup. There, he will be observed over the course of several weeks by Maresca, and a decision will then be taken whether to retain him for next season or send him back on loan to Strasbourg.

'Made direct contact' – Fabrizio Romano shares new update on future of €40m rated Chelsea ace
Atletico Madrid have made contact with the camp of Renato Veiga, and he's keen on the move according to Fabrizio Romano. Chelsea have been busy this summer and have made three signings so far in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens. The Blues haven't ruled out signing another attacker, whilst they are also looking for a left sided defender to strengthen Enzo Maresca's squad. Atletico Madrid make contact with Renato Veiga Whilst incomings are important, the Blues also have a number of players they are looking to move on in order to balance the books. Chelsea have already sold Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with more players set to head to the Stamford Bridge exit door. Veiga falls into that category despite only joining from FC Basel last summer, and the Portugal international spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus. However, it appears Veiga could be moving closer to a switch to La Liga side Atletico Madrid and Romano has provided an update on the situation. He took to and said: 'Atlético Madrid have now made direct contact with Renato Veiga's camp… and the player is keen on the move! Newcastle are said to be leading the race for Disasi, and it's thought Chelsea value the 27-year-old at around €35m. Villarreal and Juventus are also said to hold interest in Disasi, and it will be interesting to see which club he ends up joining.

Atletico Madrid make move to sign €40m Chelsea defender
Atletico Madrid are in the market for a new central defender, with new targets being lined up after ending their interest in Tottenham Hotspur's Cristian Romero, who had been their priority for the position. So far this summer, Atleti have signed Alex Baena, Matteo Ruggeri, Thiago Almada and Johnny Cardoso, and while moves are being made for Ademola Lookman to complete their attacking options, the club's priority is to add a new centre-back to compete with Robin Le Normand, Jose Maria Gimenez and Robin Le Normand. After walking away from the Romero deal, Atleti have continued snooping in the Premier League, with interest having been registered in Chelsea's Renato Veiga, who was on loan at Juventus last season. And they have now taken the next step in efforts to sign the 21-year-old, who has played five times for Portugal. Image via Getty Images As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Atleti have started talks with Veiga's representatives, and they have been informed that the defender would be open to making the move to the RiyadhAir Metropolitano. Chelsea set steep asking price for Veiga Atleti are preparing to advance their interest in Veiga after receiving this positive response, but it will not be easy to sign him this summer. Chelsea are asking for a package worth at least €40m in order to let him leave, which would represent significant profit for them after he was brought in from FC Basel in 2024 for only €14m. So far this summer, Atleti have already spent in excess of €120m on signing Baena, Ruggeri, Almada and Ruggeri, with approximately €18m having been recouped from the sales of Rodrigo Riquelme (to Real Betis) and Angel Correa (to Tigres). It will be interesting to see whether they have the money available to pursue an agreement with Chelsea for Veiga, who could be a very shrewd signing.
