Four arrested; booty worth Rs 20.4 lakh recovered
The arrested were identified as Mani (39), Suresh (35), Kumar (29) and Manikanta (25). Two more including Prabhu and Manigandan are still at large.
Kumar and Manikanta from Tirupati came into contact with Mani and Suresh who are from Tamil Nadu while they were in jail and formed into a gang after they were released from jail. The four were involved in series of house-breaking cases in Puttur and Chandragiri constituencies. The gang members first identify the locked houses and later during nights break open the houses to enter and take away valuable gold and silver ornaments. Following the series of thefts, special teams were formed to nab the culprits involved in nine cases in Puttur and Chandragiri constituencies. The gang members also stole 2 motorcycles which they used for their conveyance.
SP Harshavardhan Raju urged the people to be more cautious about thieves who are breaking locked houses and looting during nights.
SP appreciated the team members who were involved in the operation including Puttur DSP Ravi Kumar, CI Raverndra, SIs Obaiah, Naresh, Venkatesh and district crime team PCs Damu, Nagaraju, Ramesh, Mohan, Rajasekhar, Ravi Prakash, Mohan and Munirathnam.

‘A for Akhilesh', ‘B for Babasaheb': FIR against SP leader Farhad Alam over ‘PDA Pathshala'
Samajwadi Party leader (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over an FIR filed against a local SP leader in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur for allegedly teaching 'politicised alphabets' to children. SP City Vyom Bindal said a complaint was filed by Main Singh, a resident of the Kallarpur Gurjar village, alleging that local SP leader Farhad Alam Gada was teaching children "politicised alphabets" at a 'PDA Pathshala.' According to news agency PTI, the complainant said that the children were taught "A for Akhilesh", "B for Babasaheb", "D for Dimple," and "M for Mulayam Singh Yadav". The incident came to light after a purported video of the lesson, recorded at the SP leader's home in Ramnagar, was posted on social media and went viral. The children in the video were reportedly from a private school and were seen wearing their uniforms. In his defense, Farhad Gada had previously claimed that the "PDA Pathshala" was not just for teaching ABCs but also to educate children about the 'great men of Samajwadi ideology,' PTI reported. He had also stated his intention to open similar schools across the district. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav posted on 'X', 'Even the British did not file an FIR for studying. The anti-education face of the BJP has now been exposed to the public. Now the BJP will be gone forever. Condemnable.'

Mukhtar Ansari's son arrested over alleged forged documents
Umar Ansari , son of late gangster-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari , was arrested for allegedly submitting forged documents in court in order to recover his father's properties on Sunday. The charges against Umar fall under sections 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Senior police officers confirmed his custody and said that further investigation and action is underway. This is the sixth case lodged against Umar Ansari. The past five cases include charges of cheating, forgery, damage to public property, and violation of the poll code during the Vidhan Sabha elections of 2022. Meanwhile, his elder brother Abbas Ansari was sentenced to two years in jail in a three-year-old case related to a controversial speech in which he allegedly threatened government officials on May 31. However he got bail by the court later. Abbas was later disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Abbas, was elected MLA on a Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) ticket and made the remarks at a public meeting during the 2022 Assembly election period. He has eight other cases in his name. He was caught red-handed with his wife in Chitrakoot jail, where police recovered foreign currency.
