NFL analyst describes Rams' 2025 season in one word
They've retained most of their key players from the 2024 team that won the NFC West and went toe-to-toe with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round. But the team also added some new wrinkles in receiver Davante Adams and rookies Terrance Ferguson and running back Jarquez Hunter.

The key to it all is Matthew Stafford, who decided to return to the Rams after pondering a departure this offseason.
So, when tasked with coming up with one word to describe the Rams' season, FOX Sports' Ben Arthur wrote: "curiosity."
"How much more elite-level football does 37-year-old QB Matthew Stafford have in him?" Arthur wrote. "Can new Rams receiver Davante Adams stave off the inevitable steep decline for another year, forming a top tandem with Puka Nacua? The Rams can be at the top of the NFC if they get what they need from Stafford and Adams, considering how great their young defense is becoming."
These are all fair questions. The Rams have a veteran-laden team that, while powerful, could take a step back if some of its stars' age catches up quickly. The defense is very young, too, which can either be a positive or a negative depending on how the season shakes out.
This team could easily win the NFC West again and make a Super Bowl run ... or flounder in a make-or-break year. No matter which way it falls, the Rams' braintrust of Sean McVay and Les Snead will need to figure out their plans for a team with a lot of question marks following this year.

Waller played just a single season with New York in 2023 after being acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders. The former sixth-round pick recorded 52 catches for over 550 yards and a single touchdown reception. He also missed five games due to injuries. After a year off the field, Waller is back - as a member of the Miami Dolphins. In a strange arrangement, New York traded the 32-year-old this week to allow Waller a chance to return to playing at the NFL level. Waller's retirement and return just highlight how massive some of Giants general manager Joe Schoen's failings during the offseason have been. New York has seen top draft picks be unable to make a positive impact, while acquisitions provide little relief. It's a big reason the team won just three games last year. Advertisement Waller's trade is a relatively good move for the G-Men, as they will get a little something back for a retired player. But the deal jumping into the headlines also highlights the whiff of a trade that brought Waller here in the first place, while also exposing just how much work needs to be done here to get this franchise back in shape to truly compete in the NFC East.
