Wang made the comments during a meeting in Beijing with a delegation of U.S. businesses that include executives from Goldman Sachs, Boeing (BA.N), opens new tab and Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab, the ministry said.
"China is willing to enhance engagement with the U.S., avoid misjudgment, manage differences, and explore cooperation," Wang was quoted as saying.
His remarks came a day after top Chinese and U.S. negotiators wrapped up a latest round of trade talks in Stockholm, with both sides agreeing to seek an extension of their 90-day tariff truce struck in May.
Wang said that China-U.S. relations are affected by global developments and exert a "profound impact" on international dynamics.
"China and the U.S. need to establish more channels of communication and consultation, view each other objectively, rationally, and pragmatically, and foster a correct strategic perception," he said, urging both countries to reject "unilateralism and bullying".
He encouraged U.S. companies to maintain confidence in the Chinese market, and welcomed them to continue to invest in China, the ministry statement said.
A high-level delegation of U.S. executives is visiting China this week and has also met with China's commerce and industry ministers.
The trip comes as Beijing and Washington work towards a summit between the two countries' leaders later this year, probably around the time of the APEC forum in South Korea from October 26 to November 1, sources previously told Reuters.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he thinks he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping before the end of the year, but did not elaborate.

Mettler-Toledo raises annual profit forecast on strong demand for lab instruments
July 31 (Reuters) - Mettler-Toledo International (MTD.N), opens new tab raised its profit forecast for the year on Thursday, after posting better-than-expected second-quarter results, driven by strong demand for its laboratory instruments used in drug development. The Columbus, Ohio-based company forecast 2025 adjusted profit in the range of $42.10 to $42.60 per share, compared with its previous projection of $41.25 to $42. Analysts were expecting a profit of $41.60 per share, according to data compiled by LSEG. The company said its full-year forecast accounts for a 4% impact from earlier shipping delays and an additional 4% drag from higher tariffs, although it expects most of the tariff costs to be offset by mitigation efforts this year. Mettler-Toledo also said that it was now expecting third-quarter adjusted profit in the range of $10.55 to $10.75 per share, compared with estimates of $10.47 apiece. The firm's second-quarter sales came in at $983.22 million, surpassing analysts' estimate of $957.9 million. On an adjusted basis, Mettler-Toledo earned a profit of $10.09 per share for the quarter ending June 30, topping analysts' estimates of $9.61 each. The company designs and produces precision instruments, including laboratory balances, industrial scales, analytical instruments, and product inspection systems, which are used across sectors like pharmaceuticals, food processing, and chemicals.

Slovenia imposes arms embargo on Israel
ATHENS, July 31 (Reuters) - Slovenia on Thursday imposed an embargo on exports, imports and transit of arms to Israel, two weeks after it declared Israeli ministers persona non grata, the state news agency STA reported citing a government statement. The measure was announced by Prime Minister Robert Golob after a government session. Golob said that Slovenia was the first European country to make such a move, STA reported. Slovenia recognised a Palestinian state in June last year and has since repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza and increased aid deliveries to the enclave. Israel has denounced declarations last week by France, Britain and Canada that they may recognise a Palestinian state, saying that it would reward Hamas for its October 7, 2023 assault on Israeli territory. Earlier on Thursday U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a bid to salvage Gaza truce talks and tackle a humanitarian crisis.

Wells Fargo board to appoint CEO Scharf as chairman and grant $30 million award
July 31 (Reuters) - U.S. lender Wells Fargo (WFC.N), opens new tab said on Thursday its board of directors planned to appoint the lender's CEO Charlie Scharf as its chairman and to award him a one-time special equity grant of $30 million in restricted share rights and stock options. The bank said in a statement the actions reflected the board's desire to retain Scharf as the CEO and to recognize his leadership in transforming Wells Fargo. When Scharf becomes the chairman, the board will appoint a lead independent director to maintain oversight, the bank said, without specifying when the change would take place. "The special equity award is designed to acknowledge Charlie's role in leading Wells Fargo through an unprecedented transformation, creating shareholder value and positioning the company for the future," said Steven Black, the current chairman of Wells Fargo's board. The award will also help in maintaining Scharf's compensation relative to top executives at peer financial institutions, the bank said in a separate regulatory filing. Wells Fargo was released last month from a punitive, seven-year-long $1.95 trillion cap on its assets. Scharf, 60, took the helm at Wells Fargo in 2019, vowing to repair its deeply entrenched problems from a fake-accounts scandal that erupted in 2016. The bank faced a public outcry and faced billions of dollars in fines. The bank decided to split the chairman and the CEO roles in 2016 after the scandal erupted. JPMorgan Chase (JPM.N), opens new tab, Goldman Sachs (GS.N), opens new tab and Bank of America (BAC.N), opens new tab are other major U.S. banks where the CEO is also the chairman of the board. Influential proxy advisers have made calls in the past to separate the two positions to bolster corporate governance. The proposal was rejected by shareholders of Goldman Sachs and Bank of America last year.
