‘Early to be losing your rag' – Commentator blasts darts star as he has MELTDOWN in just second leg

The Sun30-05-2025
DARTS star Matt Campbell lost his temper and angrily threw at the board after busting his score.
The 35-year-old had an early meltdown in his first round European Tour 8 clash against Alan Soutar.

Campbell was one leg up and had the perfect chance to extend his lead, requiring just 24.
But he got his throw at the double 12 horribly wrong and it landed in nine.
The Canadian was then left with 15 and he eyed up the three.
But once again, his dart was a disaster and it fell into the neighbouring 17 to bust his score.
A furious Campbell then chucked his final arrow at the board in a fit of rage to leave commentator Dan Dawson shocked.
He said: "Wow. Well, you can understand why he is annoyed. But it's quite early on to be losing your rag isn't? Leg two."
Fans reacted: "I love it when something like this happens as it makes me feel less s*** about how bad I am at darts."
Another added: "Campbell is like us, professional players are human beings."
Soutar made the most of the nightmare leg, stepping up and levelling the score at 1-1.
But Campbell composed himself and went on to win 6-4.
He faces Ross Smith in the second round in Leverkusen, Germany tomorrow.
Stephen Bunting, Gary Anderson, Peter Wright, Nathan Aspinall, Jonny Clayton, Chris Dobey and Damon Heta are the biggest names in the competition.

Woman goes viral for unconventional love story as she insists 4ft husband is not AI-generated

A Canadian content creator has revealed that she had to reassure strangers online that photos of her four-foot husband were not AI-generated. Anita Wing Lee and Timothy Muttoo, from Toronto, met through mutual friends in 2021, but despite having plenty in common, their romantic connection wasn't instant, and she initially friend-zoned him. She said that their height difference was an issue for her at first, as she asked herself: 'How does a "regular" 5'4" woman fall in love with a four-foot-tall man?' Tim, an engineer and co-founder of a Canadian charity working to make clean drinking water accessible to all, was the first to develop romantic feelings, but Anita saw her future husband as a 'great friend'. But after reflecting on her emotions she decided to give Tim a chance and she soon realized Tim was everything she was looking for in a husband: he was kind and with 'no red flags'. Eventually going from friends to partners, the couple got engaged in September 2024 before tying the knot this year. They are now sharing their story on their own website to prove love does come in all shapes and sizes. Tim was born in Canada, while Anita's family moved there from Cambridge when she was young. For 15 years, the pair lived just 20 minutes apart but were completely unaware of each other. They first met at a mutual friend's birthday party in 2021. Soon, they would form a strong friendship, spending hours talking to one another and going on trips together. Eventually, Tim's feelings towards Anita turned romantic. Recalling their love story on their website, Anita said: 'Tim started texting me more frequently, and I found myself feeling uneasy. I didn't see him that way, and I already knew he liked me. 'I felt like I needed to put a stop to it, but at the same time, I didn't want to lose him as a friend.' With the help of her sister, Anita drafted a message to try and explain that she wanted to remain as friends only, and maintain their boundaries with one another. Anita said she hesitated over sending the text, and once she did send the message, she regretted it almost immediately, which suggested to her that her feelings were perhaps stronger for Tim than she realized. However, she wondered: 'But how could I imagine myself with a 4-foot man? Tim's torso was normal-sized, but his arms and legs were shorter. While that could look cute in some ways, it wasn't what I had ever pictured in a partner. 'I had always envisioned myself looking up into my partner's eyes, but with Tim, that wasn't possible. What was I supposed to do?' As she reflected on her feelings, she remembered the love story of motivational speaker Nick Vujicic, who was born with no arms and legs, and his wife Kanae. She eventually discovered that she had strong romantic feelings for Tim and explained how she believed they could have something 'even better' than she pictured for her life. They are now sharing their story online, with Anita recently writing on her Instagram account: 'I never prayed for someone tall. You know how people write out lists of what they're hoping for in a partner? I never actually wrote down 'tall', because I just assumed God would bring me someone tall. Ideally, someone 5 inches taller than me so I could wear heels and they'd still be taller. 'But I never actually added it to my list, because there were other things that mattered more.' She added: 'I prayed for someone with substance and character: a visionary, a humble world traveler, big-hearted and creative (or at least someone who understood my creative soul), with deep faith. And I always sensed he'd come from a different culture. 'It all felt a bit contradictory, so I didn't know where God would find this person. How do you find someone who excels in the modern world and is totally open to leaving it all behind? But that's who I am. All those versions of me co-exist in me, so I trusted that God had someone out there who could hold it all. 'As I got to know @timmuttoo, I saw he was all of these things. But… he wasn't tall. And when I asked God about it, He said, "Well, it wasn't on your list". 'Hey! It wasn't on my list, because it just didn't matter as much as being with someone who understood me to the core and stood by me. Asking for someone tall felt so… surface-level, in comparison. And of course, God picked up on that little omission. Because the external of a person is just that, external. It's the internal - the heart, the soul, the kindness, the way they treat you and others - that truly matters. 'Thankfully, I processed the height thing… and now I actually think it's so adorable! It's an added bonus that brings so much fun and sweetness to our lives! 'So if you're still waiting for your person …they may not look like what you pictured and that might be the best part.' Loved up: Anita got her fairytale ending when she tuned into her feelings for Tim without letting preconceived notions of her 'perfect man' hold her back In another post, she confessed: 'We know many of you have been curious about our story, how we met and how our love grew. And, no, we are not an AI-generated image. 'There's the short version (we met through mutual friends), and then there's the longer version, which we think is far more winding and wonderful. Something that we don't want to forget.' 'So we wrote it all down in the hope that it might inspire and encourage someone one day, right when you need it,' she added, before sharing a link to their website.

Inside Justin Trudeau's divorce makeover

He's swapped tailored suits for tight tees, Parliament Hill for Swiss peaks - and a buttoned-up marriage for adrenaline-fueled bonding trips with his sons and a cozy dinner with Katy Perry . Nearly a year after splitting from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau , the former Canadian Prime Minister has debuted a full-blown divorce glow-up: trading suits for sleeveless tees, diplomatic meetings for mountaineering, and family portraits for alpine selfies. In his latest Instagram post that Trudeau, 53, shared a day after he was seen out with the popstar, the loving dad posed atop a snowy slope in Zermatt, Switzerland with 17-year-old son Xavier, ice axes in hand and mountaineering rope tied between them. 'More melted cheese than anyone should safely eat,' he joked, capturing the bro-y, dad-on-the-loose energy that's defined his recent feed. And before that he was seen on a sun-drenched Canadian road trip with his youngest son Hadrien, 9, that included rock climbing, hiking, and even a kiss from a sea lion. One July snap showed the trio at a climbing gym, Trudeau in a black tank top, looking more Coachella than campaign trail. Fans have been spamming his latest Instagram post with cheeky Katy Perry GIFs - one of her seductively holding a watermelon slice, another of her in a candy-colored wig licking an ice cream cone. Trudeau and Perry were spotted having dinner in Montreal on Monday, leaning in close at Le Violon restaurant before heading to Taverne Atlantic for terrace drinks. Perry, 40, is currently on tour in Canada after her recent split from fiancé Orlando Bloom - and her sighting with Trudeau has sent social media into overdrive with people speculating they are dating. 'Both reminiscing their peaks in 2015,' one user joked. 'Did not have that one on my celebrity hookup bingo card,' wrote another. It's been a rocky stretch for the pop star: a flop album (143), backlash over her cringy Blue Origin space flight, and a very public breakup from Bloom, who was last seen solo at Jeff Bezos' wedding in Venice. Perry, who was in Australia at the time of the wedding, was later seen breaking down in tears on stage. Meanwhile, Trudeau has been navigating his own exit from power. After eight years as Prime Minister, he stepped down in January amid plummeting popularity, a crumbling Liberal party, and a trade crisis with Trump 2.0. His replacement, Mike Carney, was sworn in this March. Representatives for both Trudeau and Perry have declined to comment on the dating rumors . A source has told the Daily Mail that those close to the singer do not believe their rendezvous was anything serious. They explained that Perry 'usually wears her heart on her sleeve' so if a new romance was brewing, her pals would have heard about it. 'As of right now, Katy and Justin are treating their get together as just that, a get together,' our insider said. 'She hasn't told anyone it was anything more, and she usually wears her heart on her sleeve, so if something were happening, she'd let her close friends know. But right now it is nothing more than friendship.' A second insider reiterated that Perry and Trudeau's meetup was 'just a hangout' and not something romantic... yet. 'They met at an event and they have had some good conversations,' they said. 'They text each other, it seems to be very friendly and nothing more at the moment. However this hasn't stopped social media going into meltdown over the duo's meeting. One person posted: 'That's the most random couple I can imagine getting together in 2025.' Another said: 'Imagine the stimulating conversation these two geniuses must be having.' While a third added: 'You could have given me a million guesses as to who his new girlfriend was and it would never have been Katy Perry lol.' Another quipped about Perry's panned Blue Origin mission: 'Good for her. After all she's been through, the trials and tribulations of being an astronaut while trying to be a single mom, she deserves to be happy.' And another concluded: 'They are both insufferable, might just work out for them.'

Canada's McIntosh hungry for more after world championship success

Aug 3 (Reuters) - Canadian sensation Summer McIntosh fell just short in her quest to match Michael Phelps's feat of winning five individual gold medals at a single world championships but that has given her the motivation to improve even more. McIntosh won the 400 metres individual medley (IM) title on the final day of the world championships in Singapore on Sunday, adding to her 200 IM, 200 butterfly and 400 freestyle golds that saw her named the best female swimmer of the meeting. The three-times Olympic champion's only failure to stand atop the podium in an individual event came in the 800 freestyle, in which she finished with bronze as American great Katie Ledecky took the victory. "I think it was very obvious that my goal was five golds. Time just didn't matter. I just wanted to get my hand on the wall the first five times," McIntosh said of her campaign. "I fell short of that but I think it's just going to keep me hungry and push, and keep moving forward. "I think this meet, I learned more than any other meet ever. And that says a lot. The thing I'm learning from the most is the bronze and 800 freestyle. And that's going to keep me hungry moving into next season and into LA (Los Angeles Olympics)." McIntosh has plenty to be proud of, however, as she became just the third swimmer to win five individual medals at a world championships after Phelps and Swede Sarah Sjostrom. The 18-year-old, who also swam for Canada in the 4x100 medley relay on Sunday, said she had never had such a challenging programme, adding: "I've never done a double before, also doing five individual events. "I've never done that before, let alone one of them being the 800. My sleep has never been this good. I've never been a good sleeper during meets. I've been able to relax and have amazing sleep. "Overall, happy with my meet but always want more. I'm just going to celebrate my wins and kind of take a reset heading into next season. The negatives, I'm going to apply to next season."
