In this regard, the National Liberation Front (FLN) expressed in a statement its condemnation of the 'unjustified attacks and dangerous prejudice' contained in the statement issued by the transitional government of Mali, as well as the statement of the Union of Sahelian States (USS), which contained 'serious accusations that have been refuted by irrefutable evidence.'
'The serious accusations made by the Malian junta against Algeria are a blatant expression of the utter failure of this reckless regime and a desperate attempt to export the crisis in which it is drowning,' said the party.
'It categorically rejects the use of Algeria's name as a scapegoat for the setbacks and failures for which the Malian people are paying a heavy price by fabricating false allegations and false accusations regarding a relationship between Algeria and terrorism,' he said, recalling that Algeria 'has fought and combated terrorism for decades and has proven its worth, and its credibility and international efforts to establish peace, security and stability are proven and recognized by enemies and friends alike.'
After reiterating its 'full and unconditional support for the country's political leadership, headed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as the People's National Army,' the FLN noted that 'Algeria has full and absolute sovereignty' over its airspace, referring to Algeria's decision to close its airspace to Mali.
For its part, the National Democratic Rally (RND) condemned the 'lies and falsification of facts' contained in the statement of the Malian transitional government, while appreciating the response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which 'refutes these false allegations.'
The aggression against Algeria is part of 'a strategy planned and implemented by hostile lobbies, entities and countries in order to push it to abandon its honorable positions towards just causes in the world and to obstruct the path of development and progress it is achieving in various fields under the leadership of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.'
In a statement, the Rally praised the firm stance of the Algerian government in closing the airspace to Mali in a move aimed at 'protecting national security,' praising 'the deterrent response against anyone who would seek to undermine Algeria's security and stability.'
In the same vein, the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) considered the actions of the transitional military government in Mali 'a direct targeting of Algeria's national security,' noting that the People's National Army's response to this aggression is 'a legitimate right according to international law.'
In a statement, the movement stressed the need for 'continued comprehensive security vigilance to miss the opportunity to defeat plans to destabilize security and stability and target our southern borders and national security.'
For its part, the Future Front affirmed its 'full support for the sovereign and responsible position expressed by the Algerian state in its firm and controlled response to these false allegations and hostile statements, which reflects Algeria's adherence to its well-established principles of respecting the sovereignty of states and defending their national security.'
'Algeria, with its unblemished history and its firm positions in support of peace and the fight against terrorism, does not need anyone's testimony,' it added, emphasizing its 'strong support for the sovereign measures taken by the Algerian state, especially its firm response to the repeated air violations of national sovereignty.'
In the same context, the National Struggle Front condemned in a statement the 'dangerous prejudice' adopted by the transitional government of Mali and the heads of the 'Sahel Union countries', saying that the positions adopted are 'a desperate attempt to export a total failure and cover up a miserable political reality.'
'We support all decisions taken by Algeria in order to preserve the sovereignty of its political decision and protect its national security,' it concluded.

The French authorities have resorted to alternative diplomacy to preserve their remaining interests in Algeria, which have suffered unprecedented damage since the outbreak of the crisis between the two countries following France's shift in position on the Sahara issue, resulting in a decline in diplomatic representation to the level of chargé d'affaires. This refers to parliamentary activity, which is considered complementary and sometimes transforms, as in the current situation between Algeria and Paris, into an alternative diplomacy, given the severing of official ties. This was embodied by the visit of the French Senator Akli Mellouli and National Assembly MP, Sabrina Sebaihi, to Algeria. Akli Mellouli serves as Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Armed Forces Committee in the upper house of the French Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Algerian-French Friendship Group. MP Sabrina Sebaihi is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the lower house of the French Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Algerian-French Friendship Group. The two parliamentarians were received by Michel Bisac, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the French Embassy in Algeria. In a post on his LinkedIn account on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the CCIF President welcomed his guests and spoke of a 'useful and constructive exchange with member business leaders on prospects for developing and strengthening economic relations between the two countries.' Both Akli Mellouli and Sabrina Sebaihi are considered moderate political voices in France. They advocate for respecting Algeria and maintaining stable relations with it, to preserve bridges of communication and safeguard the intertwined social ties between the two shores of the Mediterranean. The visit of the French elected officials comes at a time of great complexity in relations between Algeria and Paris, which have been ongoing for exactly a year, following weeks of renewed political and media controversy between the two countries. The latest was the escalating measures announced by the French Foreign Ministry regarding diplomatic portfolios, a measure to which Algeria responded with another measure based on the principle of reciprocity established in diplomatic norms. This is not the first time French politicians have resorted to this approach in an attempt to de-escalate tensions with Algeria and preserve, as much as possible, Paris's economic and cultural interests in Algeria. However, these attempts have so far failed miserably, due to the depth of the crisis that has shaken relations between the two capitals. More than two weeks ago, Sébastien Delogu, MP representing the La France Insoumise party, visited Algeria. His political stance, which called on the far right to avoid harming bilateral relations to preserve Paris' interests, led to a racist campaign by those political circles. Upon his return to Paris, he denounced the campaign in a post on X. MP Sébastien Delogu wrote: 'In line with the unprecedented attacks launched by the right and the far right to create conflict in French-Algerian relations, I was immediately attacked, to exploit my visit (to Algeria), ridiculing me, and distorting my presence there.' He emphasized that 'the shared memory between us and the Algerian people must prompt us to envision a future based on the principles of respect, equality, and brotherhood between our peoples.' The French parliamentarians' visit to Algeria is not expected to help calm the escalating tensions between the two countries. This is because the decision-making power in the French state is no longer controlled by the Elysée Palace, as it is supposed to be, but by unconstitutional forces surrounding it. This is what Bruno Retailleau, Interior Minister in François Bayrou's government, is keen to implement. As is known, he has caused a new diplomatic crisis, about which the Quai d'Orsay Palace said that it was not consulted, in a caricatured scene that sums up the situation that a country like France has reached.

President Tebboune Urges Delivery of Food, Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, affirmed Tuesday from Addis Ababa, where he is participating, at the behest of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the United Nations Food Systems Follow-up Summit, Algeria's position calling for urgent international action to unconditional delivery of food and humanitarian aid to Gaza, where civilians are suffering from systematic starvation and collective deprivation of the right to food. In his speech at the second edition of the UNFSS+4 summit, the minister affirmed that Algeria 'calls from this platform for urgent and immediate international action aimed at ensuring the unconditional delivery of food and humanitarian aid to Gaza, and working diligently to put an end to this blatant violation of international law.' He added in the same context that 'talk about food justice is incomplete without addressing the ongoing tragedies, such as the systematic starvation and mass food deprivation taking place in the Gaza Strip, which is a stain on humanity.' Rezig regretted that 'more than two million people there, the majority of whom are children and women, are suffering from famine and starvation in flagrant violation of all humanitarian values and principles.' He explained that 'given this painful reality, Algeria joins its voice to that of the UN Secretary-General, who affirmed yesterday, in his opening remarks, the need not to use food as a weapon against peoples. He emphasised that food must remain a guaranteed human right, not a tool of pressure or collective punishment.' In the same context, he added that Algeria 'believes that achieving food security is a fundamental pillar of dignity and sovereignty' and that 'transforming food systems fairly and inclusively requires, above all, effective coordination between action, investment, and accountability.' In the same context, he considered that people 'need not just speeches, but commitments that are translated into action, fair investments directed towards vulnerable groups and marginalised areas, and clear mechanisms that ensure transparency and collective accountability.' In this regard, the Minister expressed 'Algeria's appreciation for the integrated efforts of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, the World Food Programme, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development to build more sustainable food systems resilient to climate and geopolitical crises, especially in developing regions.' He also stressed that Algeria is 'ready to share its experiences, particularly in the field of desert agriculture, to build a more just and humane shared food future.
