Jojo Robinson gets real about life after #RHOD

TimesLIVE5 days ago
Since joining The Real Housewives of Durban in season 2, Jojo Robinson became a fan favourite, especially after viewers fell in love with her friendship with co-star Nonku Williams.
The end of season 5 left many shocked as their friendship showed cracks after Nonku said they were merely friends for the show and she didn't feel they had a real connection.
During part 2 of the reunion episode which aired recently, Jojo said she was confused about why they had a fallout and hadn't heard from Nonku in a month.
Jojo got candid about the impact reality TV has had on her life and friendships:
Now that season 5 has wrapped, how do you feel about it? Apart from a few hard things, I enjoyed this season. I loved getting to know the new girls.
How have you changed since your first season? I am a new person. I wouldn't know where to start. And I look forward to the growth that will come with everything that happened in season 5.
How do you deal with the attention you get from being on the show? It's become normal life for me. I'm happy and grateful to meet anyone who loves the show.
Who is the most surprising celebrity you've connected with because of the show? Where would I start? Through this journey I've met most of our celebrities and it would be hard to pick just one. I love Khanyi Mbau. We speak often and get compared to being sisters a lot.
What has been your favourite moment on the show? From season 5, that would be our vow renewal in episode 1. Also, reuniting with Sorisha and finding a way to a friendship again.
How do you feel about where you and Nonku stand today? I'm appreciative of the years we spent together and the love I had for her. People change and the things they want in life change, and that's OK. Maybe in the future we will get to speak, but for now I have peace in knowing I loved hard. The time we spent together I saw as sisterhood and I'm grateful for that. I wish her nothing but love and peace with whoever she chooses.
What do you hope for the group in future? To maintain peace, find real healing for those who need it and continue to grow as a group. As hectic as we are together, it's our little bond.
If there is a season 6, who would be in your dream cast? I think it's best we let the professionals decide on whoever they think is best suited.
If season 5 were a cosmetic procedure, what would it be and why? A tummy tuck, painful AF, but worth it in the end.

Calven Robinson's glow-up: Jojo's 'boo bear' takes the plunge into cosmetic surgery

Jojo Robinson takes followers inside Calven Robinson's cosmetic surgery as she reveals his new look. Image: Instagram "The Real Housewives of Durban" star Jojo Robinson and her husband Calven Robinson have proven that nothing screams couple goals like both going under the knife for transformative facelifts and a more youthful and appealing look. Calven, affectionately known as 'Boo bear', recently underwent a blepharoplasty and eyebrow lift to fix his problematic eyesight, revealing a whole new, wrinkle-free face, courtesy of Jojo's surgeon, Dr Paul McGarr. Jojo recently updated her Instagram followers on her husband's new look and recovery after his surgery. 'He had a blepharoplasty and an eyebrow lift cut on the actual eyebrow to help open his eyes,' Jojo wrote on her Instagram story. According to experts, the surgical procedure involves modifying the eyelids to improve their appearance and functionality. Video Player is loading. The surgery helps with issues such as excess skin or fat around the eyes and difficulty seeing due to sagging eyelids. As a bonus? 'Boo bear' has a more youthful and refreshed appearance as well as improved vision. A screenshot from Jojo Robinson's Instagram stories. Image: Instagram/@ The reality star, too, has been no stranger to cosmetic surgery. In 2024, she swopped all the fillers in her face for a permanent face and neck lift, which was not her first cosmetic procedure. Before that, she had a brachioplasty, also known as arm lift surgery; all the procedures she has undergone have amounted to more than R800 000. It appears facelifts and other cosmetic procedures have become a go-to quick fix for high-ranking celebrities like 'momager' Kris Jenner and Khanyi Mbau, opting for surgical rejuvenation to maintain their youthful glow. Jenner's facelift is one for the books. Her transformation left many jaws on the floor and has her looking more like one of the Kardashians and Jenner siblings than their mother. She went from wrinkles to a completely snatched face. Mbau, on the other hand, had a subnasal lip lift and blepharoplasty procedure done, which, according to Dr Alek Nikolic, is a small surgical procedure that removes excess upper lip skin that elongates when ageing takes place. During a lip lift procedure, the upper lip is shortened and sutured back to the area beneath the nose, causing the lip to slightly turn outward and creating the appearance of increased fullness.
