European women's champion Arsenal to use 60,000-seat stadium for all domestic league home games
LONDON (AP) — Women's Champions League winner Arsenal pledged on Tuesday to use the club's 60,000-seat main stadium for all home games in the domestic league next season.
Arsenal played nine of 11 home games in the Women's Super League at Emirates Stadium this season, with almost 57,000 fans watching a 5-0 win over Tottenham. The other two games were at nearby Borehamwood which can hold about 4,000 fans.

'Found a place where we belong,' Arsenal said in a social media post.
The two extra domestic league games at the Emirates will be balanced by fewer games there in the opening stages of the Champions League, which have attracted fewer than 10,000 fans.
Arsenal finished runner-up to Chelsea in the English league before beating heavily favored Barcelona to become champion of Europe.
The home game against Chelsea drew more than 45,000 fans, and more than 46,000 came to the season-ending game against Manchester United.
Arsenal said in a statement it will use Borehamwood in the opening phase of the Champions League, which switches to an 18-team single standings league next season, then return to north London for the knockout rounds. Domestic cup games also will stay at the smaller venue.

There's really no reason why Newcastle would be less prepared for a match, it's just perhaps a question of whether Arsenal will have adapted better to the Singapore heat. It's an open secret that the player has also asked to leave the club this summer. Sunday's game is only a friendly, with the two teams playing for pride but primarily to build fitness. The Turkish champions would have had to pay more than the midfielder earns at Inter. Reportedly, Calhanoglu receives a bonus of a million euros for Champions League qualification in his contract with Inter. Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Galatasaray had to withdraw in the end. They did not even make an offer for Calhanoglu.

Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders carted off practice field with right leg injury
Associated Press ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Third-year linebacker Drew Sanders was carted off the Denver Broncos' football fields Saturday after injuring his right leg during drills. Sanders began hopping around right after the play and then went to the ground in pain. Team medical personnel looked at his right foot and ankle before putting him on a cart and taking him inside team headquarters for an MRI. The injury happened with about 15 minutes left in practice and coach Sean Payton said afterward that he had no update other than to say it wasn't another Achilles tendon injury like the one Sanders sustained in the 2024 offseason. Sanders played in all 17 games as a rookie but missed much of last season after tearing his Achilles tendon in May 2024. He returned in November and played in four games, making eight tackles. Sanders has bounced back and forth between inside and outside linebacker ever since the Broncos selected him in the third round out of Arkansas in the 2023 draft. He's a key backup with Alex Singleton returning from an ACL tear in Week 3 last year and free agent addition Dre Greenlaw returning from a strained thigh this spring and a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in the Super Bowl after the 2023 season, which limited him to two games with the San Francisco 49ers last season.
