Alex Eala recently made history as she had her first WTA Tour finals stint in the Eastbourne Open and made her Wimbledon debut afterwards.
In Eastbourne, Eala fell short against Maya Joint for the crown, while she had first round exits in both singles and doubles tournaments of Wimbledon.
But after achieving major feats in the past few months, including a dream run in the Miami Open last March and reaching her career-high ranking at no. 56 after the Eastbourne Open, the grind does not stop yet for Eala.
According to Eala, she will head to North America for tournaments in Montreal in Canada, Cincinnati in the United States, and Monterrey in Mexico.
After that, she will head to New York for the US Open.
"After that, like I said, we shift to Asia. So, there will be a few around China. I know there's one in Hong Kong in October. And, yeah, around, you know, closer to home. So, if anyone wants to come," Eala said in a meet and greet event organized by Globe.
While she has been competing left and right in major tournaments, Eala said she still dreams of winning her first Grand Slam win.
"There's still a lot for me to achieve, I think. There are a lot of big tournaments lined up, not just the US Open, so I hope to play well there and of course try to get my first Grand Slam win."

PBA: Chot Reyes says TNT has nothing to be ashamed of even as Grand Slam quest falls short

The TNT Tropang 5G's Grand Slam hopes may have slipped away, but for head coach Chot Reyes, the journey was nothing short of commendable. The multi-titled tactician praised his players for enduring a grueling PBA season, one that saw them capture the Governors' Cup and Commissioner's Cup before falling short in the season-ending Philippine Cup against San Miguel. "So, so proud of this team. I think our chairman MVP put it best, he said, 'Our heads bowed in sorrow but not in shame,'' Reyes said following their 107-96 loss in Game 6 on Friday. "I told the players hindi biro yung ginawa natin na nagtatlong finals tayo and we won two of them. There's absolutely no bitterness in my heart. Like we said, time for the players to rest, 75 games is no joke in one year." [I told the players what we did was no joke, making three finals and we won two of them. There's absolutely no bitterness in my heart. Like we said, time for the players to rest, 75 games is no joke in one year.] It has been a difficult campaign for TNT with a string of injuries ultimately derailing their Grand Slam bid. They first lost the backcourt tandem of Jayson Castro and Rey Nambatac before another guard in Simon Enciso and veteran big man Poy Erram also joined the injury list, leaving TNT with a thin lineup heading into the finals. Still, they kept up with the Beermen, drawing first blood with a slim 99-96 win in Game 1. They, however, lost the next three games before mounting a huge fight in Game 5 to extend their life and drag San Miguel to a Game 6. But San Miguel proved too much for the undermanned Tropang 5G, as the Beermen made sure to close out the series and deny TNT any chance at a comeback. Reyes, though, stressed there were no regrets despite missing out on the historic Grand Slam. "I have absolutely no regrets. Like I said, when we started the series, I never coached for the Grand Slam. I'd rather almost have it than not get there. Okay na sa akin 'yun, palagi akong muntik muntik, okay na sa akin 'yun," he added. "I'm sure there are 10 other coaches in the league who would be in my position. Okay na sa'kin yun, pamuntik muntik, at least umaabot ako doon. I'll take that pain anytime." [I have absolutely no regrets. Like I said, when we started the series, I never coached for the Grand Slam. I'd rather almost have it than not get there. That's okay with me, always coming close, that's okay with me… I'm sure there are 10 other coaches in the league who would be in my position. That's okay with me, coming close. At least, I reached that point. I'll take that pain anytime.] —JMB, GMA Integrated News

(Photo: PBA Media) The San Miguel Beermen are once again kings of the PBA Philippine Cup. San Miguel reclaimed the All-Filipino crown after dispatching TNT in Game 6 of the finals, 107-96, on Friday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig. The victory also officially ended TNT's bid for a Grand Slam season. The Beermen led 52-47 at the half before eventually pulling away in the second half as they outscored the Tropang 5G, 34-20. In the said quarter alone, June Mar Fajardo scored 10 points, while Jericho Cruz drilled two from beyond the arc to build on his nine points in the said frame. San Miguel then continued to hold off the Tropang 5G en route to the title. The Beermen last won the All-Filipino crown in 2022 as they fell to the Meralco Bolts in the 2024 season. This is also San Miguel's 30th overall title in the PBA. —GMA Integrated News

(REUTERS/Mike Blake) LOS ANGELES - Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have named TV and film executive Peter Rice as head of ceremonies and content, marking the first time a major Hollywood figure will oversee the creative production of the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies. Rice, who has had senior leadership experience with 21st Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company, will serve as lead executive producer for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Los Angeles. "Our ceremonies will capture the energy, innovation and creativity of Los Angeles as well as the emotion that exists at the heart of every Olympic Games," Rice told Reuters in an interview. "The challenge is to welcome the world in a way that's not only memorable, but truly representative of LA's unique spirit - a city that stands at the crossroads of creativity, sports, and art." The British American producer will shape the creative vision and oversee production of all four ceremonies at two iconic venues: the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the newly built SoFi Stadium. He said his experience with global sporting events like the Super Bowl, World Series, and FIFA World Cup has prepared him for the task, and emphasized that assembling a world-class production team was his top priority. "We need people with deep Olympic experience who can also tap into LA's creativity and energy," he said, adding that the selection of a production company is expected by year's end. LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman expressed enthusiasm for Rice's appointment, citing their 25-year friendship and Rice's unique blend of business, technical, financial and creative skills. "I knew he was our number one draft pick," Wasserman said. Rice, whose projects have earned 51 Academy Award and 293 Emmy nominations, hopes the ceremonies reflect Southern California's spirit of optimism. "It's a place where people go to pursue their dreams, and the Olympics are all about people's dreams," he said. The LA Games open on July 14, 2028, with the Paralympic Games following in August. It will be the first time Los Angeles has hosted a Paralympics. —Reuters
