No Grimace or 'OMG' necessary this year.
After a rough series with the Astros to open the season, everything has seemingly gone the New York Mets' way the past few weeks.
Pete Alonso has been putting up MVP-like numbers, Francisco Lindor hit a seismic walk-off, game-winning home run, Luis Torrens and Luisangel Acuña stepped up for the team, David Stearns' unconventional pitching staff has proven their worth and Juan Soto is finally getting comfortable.
As a result, Carlos Mendoza's 18-7 team now owns the MLB's best record through 25 games and the fans are responding in kind.
'Citifield was rocking last night,' team owner Steve Cohen said. 'Big crowd and a Lindor walk off. Come on out everybody and join the fun!'
And, even though the Amazins' are hotter than ever and Citi Field is officially the place to be, shockingly affordable tickets are available for home games out in Flushing.
At the time of publication, we found some seats going for as low as $4 before fees on Vivid Seats.
Now, that's Amazin'.
Other games have tickets starting anywhere from $5 to $135 before fees.
Plus, we didn't even mention all the exciting giveaways at the ballpark these next few months. Personally, we're most stoked for the Kodai Senga replica jersey (May 24), Mark Vientos bobblehead (May 25), Juan Soto replica jersey (July 3), David Wright bobblehead (July 20) and Francisco Lindor bobblehead (Aug. 30).
Don't forget the July 4 showdown with the Yankees either.

Dodgers activate Max Muncy from injured list, but put Tommy Edman on shelf

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Max Muncy from the injured list and put fellow infielder Tommy Edman on the list Monday. Muncy has been out since July 2, missing nearly five weeks with a bone bruise in his knee after a collision on a tag play during a game against the Chicago White Sox. The veteran slugger had been on a monthlong roll at the time of his injury, boosting his OPS to .832 with 13 homers and 55 RBIs. Muncy returned more quickly than the initial six-week projection for his recovery. He was batting fifth and playing third base at Dodger Stadium on Monday night when Los Angeles opened a homestand against the St. Louis Cardinals. 'He's put in a lot of work to get back with this timeline,' Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. 'Getting him back lengthens and strengthens our lineup.' But just when Muncy is healthy enough to return, the NL West-leading Dodgers are losing Edman after he aggravated his injured right ankle. Edman left a game in Boston last week after apparently spraining his ankle while running the bases, and he came out of the Dodgers' game against Tampa Bay on Sunday with pain from running the bases again. 'Don't know how long it's going to be, but I do think that he'll be back at some point,' Roberts said. 'The main thing is when he gets back, how we can make sure that this doesn't happen again. It's kind of a ligament strain, tendons, whatever it is.' Edman also missed time in May with a sprained ankle. Last year's NLCS MVP is batting .228 with 12 homers and 44 RBIs this season. Edman joins the lengthy list of Dodgers hoping to return soon from injuries to bolster the defending World Series champions' repeat bid. Los Angeles didn't make a bold move at the trade deadline last week, deciding to roll with its current roster while aiming for full health in October. Utilityman Kiké Hernández went out last month with a sprained left elbow, and he isn't close to returning despite undergoing multiple procedures including platelet-rich plasma therapy and cortisone shots. 'We're not there yet, as far as worrying the season is lost' for Hernández, Roberts said. Other injury news is more encouraging: Second baseman Hyeseong Kim is swinging a bat and taking grounders in anticipation of returning from left shoulder bursitis as early as this weekend, while reliever Tanner Scott will throw another batting practice session soon in his recovery from left elbow inflammation. Roki Sasaki is still on the injured list on his bobblehead night Monday. The rookie right-hander has been out since May 8 with a right shoulder injury, but he will throw three live innings Friday after hitting mid-90s velocity in his most recent mound session. If his arm continues to feel good, he will get a minor league rehab assignment next week, Roberts said.

Napheesa Collier out for a few weeks with sprained right ankle

MINNEAPOLIS — Napheesa Collier will be sidelined for a few weeks after spraining her right ankle against the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, the team announced Monday. Collier will be reevaluated in the coming weeks. The MVP frontrunner appeared to step on teammate Alanna Smith's left foot and immediately went down near Las Vegas' bench with the Lynx holding a 92-49 lead late in the third quarter. She attempted to stand but sat back down on the court, writhing in pain, and was immediately surrounded by Aces starters A'ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, NaLyssa Smith and Kierstan Bell, who all held towels to shield her from exposure. Collier's teammates, coaches and trainers eventually made their way to the opposite end of the court to tend to the 2025 All-Star MVP. The Lynx (24-5) have three games this week, including a WNBA Finals rematch in New York on Sunday against the Liberty. New York has its own injury issues with Breanna Stewart out for a few weeks with a bone bruise in her right knee. Minnesota has a 5 1/2 game lead on New York in the standings.

Mariners GM makes clear admission about 2023 Eugenio Suarez trade

The post Mariners GM makes clear admission about 2023 Eugenio Suarez trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Seattle Mariners have reunited with Eugenio Suarez, landing the veteran slugger in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks at the deadline. But Suarez was only in Arizona because the Mariners dealt him to the Diamondbacks after the 2023 season. Seattle's president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto now acknowledges that his decision to ship Suarez to the desert was a mistake. 'One of my least favorite trades I ever did… If we could've called and asked for a re-do after winter meetings, [we] would've done it,' Dipoto said of moving on from Suarez in 2023, per FOX 13 Seattle's Alyssa Charlston-Smith. Dipoto explained the regrettable decision by adding, 'We were trying to manage a restrictive payroll at the time.' Mariners fix mistake with Eugenio Suarez reunion after deadline deal Suarez led the Mariners in home runs (31) and RBI (87) and was second on the team with 4.1 bWAR in his 2022 debut with the club. Seattle finished 90-72 that season and reached the playoffs for the first time in 21 years. The following season, however, Suarez's production dipped as he led the league with 214 strikeouts. The Mariners missed the playoffs and Dipoto decided to deal Suarez to the Diamondbacks. He got reliever Carlos Vargas and catcher Seby Zavala in return for the slugger. Vargas is still a member of the Mariners bullpen. Zavala, on the other hand, is currently toiling in the Red Sox's farm system. He logged just 39 at-bats for Seattle in 2024. Fortunately, the Mariners weren't too concerned about the position as the team already had a promising catcher. Cal Raleigh hit 30 home runs when he last teamed up with Suarez in 2023. Now the pair will reunite in 2025, with Raleigh in the midst of a historic season. The incredible campaign currently has Raleigh as the frontrunner to win AL MVP. And Suarez is on a career-best pace with 36 home runs and an MLB-leading 87 RBI (he and Raleigh are tied for the lead). Dipoto did well to correct the mistake he made two years ago. The addition of Suarez gives the Mariners a championship-caliber offense as the team now boasts one of the more formidable lineups in the league. Seattle's front office is clearly all in on the 2025 season after major upgrades at the corner infield spots with Suarez and Josh Naylor. If the rotation can regain its dominant 2024 form, the Mariners will be set up for a deep playoff run.
