Alligator takes revenge on Florida woman who angrily threw her shoe at animal

Daily Mail19 hours ago
An alligator got swift revenge on a Florida woman after she kept throwing her shoe at the animal as it wandered through the grass.
The gator was seen on video snatching the woman's shoe after she angrily hurled it at it near a body of water in Kissimmee - about 30 minutes from Orlando.
The now-viral moment was caught on camera by Sarah Louise Martin who was vacationing in the city from her home in Gravesend, England.
Martin, who posted the clip to TikTok, was seen greeting everyone before spotting the small alligator and a family of deer not too far from each other.
'Morning everyone. I've just woke up and come outside and I've just seen this on the grass outside – an alligator casually walking around and some deers. Well, they look like deers. I'm not too sure what they are,' Martin said.
Focused on the interaction between the animals, Martin watched as the people next door fed the group of deer.
While they did so, Martin kept a close eye on the gator to see how it would react to the deer - but it was the other woman she should've looked out for.
Just moments later a woman, dressed in a floral ensemble and glassed, flung her shoes at the gator as Martin watched on in horror.
'They don't seem to be scared of him at all,' the vacationer said, referring to the deer and the alligator before the bizarre moment took place.
The alligator then started to move toward the deer as Martin said: 'He's on the move.'
The gator went on to lie down on the grass as it continued to watch the deer, but just moments later, a woman threw her white sandals at it.
The animal ran away but started to inch back over as the woman again threw the pair of shoes at it, appearing to try to get it away from the deer she and others were feeding.
'No! They're throwing their shoe at him,' Martin narrated.
Suddenly, the gator decided it had enough of her antics and snatched one of the shoes and ran back into the water with it.
Martin seemingly sided with the alligator and was left pleased by its choice of revenge.
'Get that show and eat it! Run off with that shoe,' she said. 'That serves her right for throwing the shoe at it.'
The woman who threw her shoes was left looking at the animal in awe as it snuck back into the water.
Meanwhile, several people were heard chuckling as it did so.
At the end of the clip, Martin spotted a sign that clearly warned not to feed the wildlife.
An estimated 1.3 million alligators live in Florida, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

Heather Rae El Moussa breaks silence on HGTV bloodbath as she speculates over show's return

Heather Rae El Moussa has spoken out after her show, The Flipping El Moussas, was cancelled by HGTV. In recent weeks, the channel has axed Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It, Christina on the Coast, Married to Real Estate, Battle on the Beach, and Bargain Block, as well as the program Heather fronted with her husband, Tarek El Mouusa. In a new interview, the Selling Sunset star, 37, addressed the cancelation news and poured doubt over whether her other show, The Flip Off, will come back. 'Obviously, I do know they are going through big internal changes, so I'm not quite sure what's going on there,' Heather said. 'I don't have a statement for that, but I can say how much I've enjoyed being on HGTV.' Heather also told Us Weekly that she isn't entirely sure if a third season of The Flipping El Moussas will return on a different network. She continued: 'Anything could happen. To be honest, it was a great show and it still is a great show. 'I know that the fans loved it, and Tarek and I really, really enjoyed filming that show. It's definitely a challenging market right now — and with real estate in general.' The Flipping El Moussas premiered in March 2023 and aired its season two finale just a few months ago. The series saw the couple overcome professional and personal challenges while they took on huge house flips. 'As a newly married couple, they've now combined their superpowers to expand their business and take on bigger and better flips,' the official synopsis teased. 'Tarek brings the flip knowledge and Heather brings an eye for high-end real estate. It's all about family as The Flipping El Moussas work together, learn together and grow together.' Heather also told the publication that she doesn't have 'any news' about whether a season two of The Flip Off will go ahead, despite previous reports that it will return. In The Flip Off, she and Tarek, 43, competed with his ex-wife Christina Haack, 42, to find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain. 'I do know the fans would love to see it back and all three of us would love to see it back,' she added. 'We will definitely throw that idea around if season two comes about. But I love my partners and my husband.' Earlier this week, Deadline reported that HGTV's bold decision to cull seven programs was to help free up some money. According to the publication, HGTV home renovation shows can cost up to $500,000 per episode compared to real estate shows, which costs somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000, and can be produced in a shorter period. 'Home reno shows are expensive because all of the materials are jacked up and on delay, the price of wood and marble and everything else is going up so these shows don't make as much sense anymore,' one source told Deadline. On top of budget issues, a producer claimed some talent were being paid up to $100,000 an episode and were 'afraid to say no.' 'They allowed their talent to run amok,' an insider alleged. 'They gave them some form of creative control and that's harming their own shows. They were so afraid of talent they never said no and the shows aren't delivering anymore. 'They kowtowed to talent and now they're suffering the consequences.' Additionally, the publication claimed that HGTV has been struggling with ratings, as well as competition from TikTok stars and other channels. 'I don't know if it's a show thing as much of an audience thing where a lot of people are dropping cable,' another source said. 'There was a time when people would just put on HGTV when they were cleaning.'

Demi Lovato returns to the LA frozen yogurt shop she famously tried to CANCEL back in 2021

Demi Lovato has returned to the Los Angeles frozen yogurt shop she famously attempted to cancel four years ago, but on a fresh slate. In 2021, superstar Demi faced backlash after she publicly called out The Bigg Chill, a frozen yogurt shop in Los Angeles, after getting 'triggered' by the sugar-free options available. But it seems the songstress may have extended the business an olive branch, as she is now professing her love for the establishment. The 32-year-old mocked a video she posted at the time of the controversy, in which she defended her actions and insisted to followers, 'I left that yogurt store and didn't get the yogurt that I wanted!' 'love you bigg chill,' Demi, who uses the pronouns they/them/she/her, captioned the video. She tagged the business, who reciprocated by posting the video to their own grid. The various videos she shared poked fun at her 2021 video as she dug into a cup of sprinkle-topped frozen yogurt and posed by the store's neon sign. The whole appearance seemed to be in promotion of her upcoming single Fast, as the song served as the soundtrack for several of her clips. has contacted The Bigg Chill for comment but did not immediately hear back. In another video posted to her Instagram Stories, Demi joined numerous fans outside of The Bigg Chill shop for a dance party to her new track. The original drama exploded back in 2021 after Demi slammed the yogurt shop on her Instagram and posted her messages with the business onto her account. 'Finding it extremely hard to order froyo from [The Bigg Chill] when you have to walk past tons of sugar-free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter', Demi wrote before adding the hashtag 'Do Better'. The singer has been open about her past eating disorder struggles. The store, situated on Olympic Blvd, is owned by Diane Dinow and her daughter Cary Russell, who revealed in 2011 that they average 1,000 customers a day in the week and up to 1,300 at the weekends. Demi accused the the shop of 'harmful messaging from brands or companies that perpetuate a society that not only enables but praises disordered eating.' The establishment responded to the Sorry Not Sorry songstress in a direct message, which she subsequently posted online. The company responded saying: 'We are not diet vultures. We cater to all of our customers needs for the past 36 years. We are sorry you found this offensive.' Demi responded: 'Not just that. Your service was terrible. So rude. The whole experience was triggering and awful.' She advised the business: 'You can carry things for other people while also carrying for another percentage of your customers who struggle DAILY just to even step foot in your store... In 2021, superstar Demi faced backlash after she publicly called out The Bigg Chill, a small family business in Los Angeles, after getting 'triggered' by the sugar-free options available 'You can find a way to provide an environment for all people with different needs. Including eating disorders – one of the deadliest mental illness only second to [opioid] overdoses. Don't make excuses, just do better.' The What Other People Say artist then advised the business on different ways it could improve on the issue. She penned: 'I was thinking, maybe it would help if you made it more clear that the sugar free options and vegan options are for that. Labeling the snacks for celiac or diabetes or vegans. 'When it's not super clear, the messaging gets confusing and being in LA it's really hard to distinguish diet culture vs health needs. I think clear messaging would be more beneficial for everyone. You aren't wrong for catering to many different needs but it's not about excluding one demographic to cater to others.' Fans soon responded in anger, writing: 'What's your favorite internet beef rn mine is Demi lovato forgetting diabetics exist and fighting a frozen yogurt business in public... 'CALL OUT: Demi Lovato calls out Yogurt shop for sugar free foods. Demi says 'Finding it extremely hard to order froyo from The Big Chill when you have to walk past tons of sugar free cookies/other diet foods.'... Demi subsequently attempted to issue a half-apology for her actions on Instagram in an eight-and-half minute video where she explained why she was 'triggered' by sugar-free items sold at the small business and claimed she would 'work with them' on 'doing better.' However, leaked direct messages allegedly written by the singer, published by TMZ in 2021, paint a different story, as Demi warned The Bigg Chill, 'you don't want to mess with me' and advised them to stop trying to fight back against their arguments. Demi allegedly wrote in the messages: 'Don't keep going with this. You don't want to mess with me. You're in the wrong and the customer is always right. You already know this, listen to your customer and do better'. The messages were in response to the singer posting pictures of a gluten-free product from The Bigg Chill's page as a way to prove that they promote diet culture. Following Demi's outburst, the company replied saying the picture Demi had used was from 2016 and was no longer stocked.
