Aggie fans and media react to Texas A&M's being swept by No. 1 Texas
For the third straight game, Texas A&M falls to No. 1 Texas by one run in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
Sunday's game between the Aggies and Longhorns brought plenty of action, with the Aggies jumping out to an early lead. A&M carried a 4-2 advantage into the bottom of the sixth inning before Texas surged ahead with three runs, taking a 5-4 lead. Caden Sorrell tied the game in the top of the seventh with a solo home run, marking the final run for A&M in the matchup.
Texas regained the lead with a solo home run late in the game. In a critical moment, Kaeden Kent hit into a double play with one out and two runners on base, sealing the Aggies' tough loss. Leaving 10 runners stranded proved costly, but the weekend highlighted A&M's potential as a postseason contender. With nine SEC games remaining, the Aggies have a strong chance to secure their spot if they capitalize on key opportunities.
